Summary: Heart of a Champion Book Review
Review: Heart of a Champion was a very interesting book to me. I myself play baseball and the author did rather well at placing real life scenarioes into this novel. One of the reasons I was able to read this book with such sheer enjoyment is because I feel I can relate to some of the incidents that took place in the book to my own life or lives of those around me. The only reason the Heart of a Champion recieves 4 stars instead of 5 is because I feel that Carl Deuker could have taken a little bit more time in discussing the characters school life.
I thought the author did a great job at explaining what was going on in the baseball games. I enjoyed the way he described the way Jimmy or Seth would make a certain play. Even though the end of the book was a bit of a surprise, this was a great book and I would reccomend to others.

Review: Heart of a Champion was a very life like book. I recomend this book to anyone who likes real life storys. Carl Deuker writes some of the best books that I've ever read. A breif summery of this book, a boy's father had died in a hotel and this kid goes to the park every day and finally meets a kid who asks him if he wants to play baseball, and the dad was a drunk who always got mad at his son. If you liked this book so far you are going to love the rest of the book.

Review: Heart of a Champion, written by Carl Deuker, is a heartwarming, yet interesting novel. The book tells the story of two young boys. One, gifted with acedemics and good morals. And the other, truly gifted with the ability to play baseball, but sometimes gets himself into trouble. The two boys, Seth and Jimmy, become best friends throughout the novel. Despite the fact the two boys come from different types of families, they still manage to stay close throughout their years together. This novel teaches very valuable life-long lessons. It teaches you how to care for your friends and how to help them. This novel would influence many young readers and may even help them in life. Readers of all ages would enjoy reading this unique novel. I enjoyed reading Heart of a Champion, and I think you would too!

Review: Heart of a Champion
By: Carl Deuker In the story a Heart of a Champion you will figure out that this book is a fiction book. It is about friendship and trusting other people.
The main characters in this story are Seth, and Jimmy in this baseball story. It's about two boys that meet at the park. Seth had never really played baseball before, but Jimmy was a veteran. They both grew up in the same town, and became best friends. Seth was almost getting as good as Jimmy at baseball. Then Jimmy had moved because his mom and hid dad were getting a divorce. Seth was playing on the high school baseball team. After a year or so Jimmy comes back to his home town, and he tries out for the baseball team.
In there high school career Jimmy and Seth started drinking and making bad decisions. It wasn't to long before Jimmy was suspended for one game and Seth had his first and only warning. They kept playing baseball but Seth and Jimmy didn't learn their lesson from when they got in trouble. They kept on drinking. They started getting really heavy drinkers. They followed a man back into the woods and he pulled out two 12 packs of beer. The man then pulled out a couple of packs of cigarettes. He asked Seth if he wanted any but Seth said no, he then asked Jimmy and Jimmy said yes. They all had 5 beers each before they had left, and had already smoked a whole pack in the time they were there. The next day they had a practice but the coach didn't know they were hung over. After the practice, Todd one of the players from the team, asked Jimmy if he wanted to come over and have a couple of beers, and tomorrow had been the state championship game they had been starting in. That night Todd and Jimmy had 10 beers each. They came to the game all hung over. They both couldn't play in the game, and the coach kicked them off the team. Seth and the rest of the team had to play without their two best hitters and fielders. They had to win the game by themselves. These Characters made these choices because they were pressured. They had been pressured by there parents, friends, and other family members. So they started drinking to relieve the pressure. Seth and Jimmy got in trouble because they were drinking alcohol under the age of 21 years old.

Review: Heart of the champion book is about a true friendships, and baseball. Also how baseball can be part of somebody's life. Once in a time there was seth and jimmy they both were best friends. The kind of friendship you can't put into words, the kind of friendship you will think it's only happen in the books and movies. Jimmy and Seth both live and breath baseball. But, Jimmy was batter then Seth. While Seth struggles to be good enought to make the varsity team. His friend Jimmy a natural looks like he's on his way to becoming a major league star some day. Jummy was on and off the field. Their possoin for the game gets them throught some of life's bitterests struggles and unites them in a ones in life thim friendship that is ment to be last forever. this book is wreaten by carl Deuker.

Review: I am a high school student and baseball palyer. I read this book before I was in high school and a lot of this stuff is true. It is amazing how much it parralles real life. A must read!

Review: I give this book two thumbs up! It was full of surprises and unbelievably excellent. It made me keep wanting to turn the page. This is a great book for kids growing up who like baseball. It has a great plot and is well written. Deuker uses interesting and appealing adjectives that describe the book well. He tells about the characters very well and gives a good description of each one. He puts a visible picture in your head of what the character looks like. Deuker writes a must read and anyone who is a serious book reader must pick this novel up right away and read it. You will be amazed!

Review: I just like to give some info on me. Never read a book. I never read a full chapter book. Untill this one. THE BEST. All of his books have a certain grab that just pulls you toward it. I guarrenty that you'll LOVE this book.

Review: I loved this book. i am not a heavy reader and this book made me read. I have never read a book that was dramitic yet awesome do to the baseball content. I remind my self of this kid "Seth" because i really want to play baseball but jusy not good at it and this book has inspired me to practice the sport and give it my all!
