Rating: Summary: The Sequel to "Emily's Runaway Imagination" Review: The real story of "Emily's Runaway Imagination". Mrs. Cleary brings us the adult and totally real life version of one of my old childhood favorites. Her life begins in the same setting, the small logging and farming town of Yamhill, Oregon (having grown up there not much had changed until the 1970's) and this time takes us along with her as she moves to Portland and grows up. Anybody who enjoyed her books as children must get a copy and read it. The enjoyment of their childhood will be re-lived
Rating: Summary: A Girl From Yamhill-Beverly Cleary Review: This was delightful reading. I enjoyed reading about the origins of a wonderful children's author. I found that this read like fiction, holding my interest throughout. I went right from this book to Cleary's follow-up memoir, My Own Two Feet.
Rating: Summary: A wonderfully written book! Review: When I was in second grade, I was a big fan of Beverly Cleary's books, especially the Ramona series. I read her autobiography around that time; although it was above my reading level, I still understood it and could feel for her in both the sad parts and the funny parts! If you like Beverly Cleary's books, you must read this one.
Rating: Summary: Totally Cool Dude Review: Wonderful autobiography by Beverly Cleary. When I first read it in 4th grade I felt so adult to be reading a 300 word book, but it really wasn't that bad because I was so involved in it. I highly recommend it to readers 8-12 (especially girls) and anyone who likes her books. And like I said, its like, totally cool dude. : )
