Rating: Summary: hostile revenge Review: Two boys who have been teased and harrassed at school by jocks and popular kids, lash out and take their school dance hostage, the scary thing is no one knows how far they'll go. I liked how it was written in quetes and the way they printed peoples thoughts. The story was avery good but lacked in telling the reader how they were really able to get everything without everyone noticing.I think students would like this the most just because its somthing that could happen to them.
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK Review: This book was so great that I thought it was an actual event. When I looked in the beginning and it said, FICTION I was very shocked. This book is so real. GREAT!!!
Rating: Summary: What Will Happen When You Give A Boy A Gun? Review: Todd Strasser's Give A Boy A Gun is a very well written book. It was a tale of two teens that had been picked on until they finally had enough. But Gary and Brendan took revenge way to far. And they were actually out to hurt the other students that picked on them. They also went after the teachers that didn't stop those that picked on them. Did Brendan and Gary truly go after all theese people and try to hurt them? You'll have to read the Book to find out.
Rating: Summary: Very Good Book On School Violence Review: From reading this book, I have to say that it's a very good book about school violence, even to the point that there a little tidbits about Columbine, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold in the book(but not in the story itself) that jolts you(although sometimes it did confuse me a little of whether this book is fiction or not) and it looks into the mind of everyone who was involved in this incident and I recommendmend this book to everyone(particularly to certain school districts and administrators in CO).
Rating: Summary: I am in tears Review: I picked this book up and read it in one day. By the time I was finished I was in tears. I wish that we all could see how hurtful our actions were to others. I feel just as bad for the kids who were taking hostages as I did for the hostages. We are all guilty. Anyone who ever goes to school is guilty of saying and doing things that hurt others even if you don't mean to. I hope that no one ever has to feel unwanted and unloved like the characters in this book did. I am certainly going to watch what I do and say from now on. I would like to think that it will never happen again but it has happened twice in the last week in the US. Lord Help Us!
Rating: Summary: Give a Boy a Gun Great Book!!! Review: Gary Searle and Brendan Lawler want to fight back against the mean football jocks of Middletown High. They steal guns from a neighbor and go to their school gym during a dance. With rigged doors and loads of ammo they settle in for a long night. They shoot one of the jocks in both knees to end his football career but they never kill anyone. But, midway through the order they start to regret their choice. With interviews with friends and parents the book takes you inside the teenagers mind. This book is a must for teenagers.
Rating: Summary: suicide Review: "Give A Boy a Gun" is a great book!!! I rate it 5 stars. I rate this book 5 stars because it's about two boys who get picked on all through high school,so in llth grade they held the school hostage at a school dance. I think 13 and under shouldn't read this book because there's violence and language. But if you're 13 or older, it's definitly a great book to read. The way they plan how to build the bombs and to put them in the school and how they stole their dads guns is fantastic. The author,Todd Strasser, probably wrote the best book I've read so far. "Give A Boy A Gun" is a drama. If u like drama, you'll really like this book a lot.

"Give a Boy a Gun" makes you think twice about your decisions in high school. This book has so much feeling and deifintion to life, it's unreal!
Rating: Summary: Two boys and a crowded school Review: Give a Boy a Gun will help you realize what type of stuff goes on in public schools across America. Give a Boy a Gun is about two boys who get teased by jocks until the day they get revenge at the high school dance. I recommend that kids older than 12 read this book. Being a teenager I recommend that teenagers and school teachers read this book. This will help teachers and other adults realize that this stuff happens in schools. This is a very interesting book!
Rating: Summary: Give a Boy a Gun Review: "Give a Boy a Gun" is a great book. Gary and Brendan are two suicidal teenagers who get bullied every day by football players and kids on the restling team. These boys attempt to reenact what happened at Columbine. Other than Gary, no one was killed in the shooting scene. Gary shot himself and Brendan ended up in a mental institution for the rest of his life. This was definately one of the best books that I have ever read. I sincerely think you should read it.
