Rating: Summary: magical and unique Review: This was a really fun read. Vanessa is a amiable and strong main character, who has a secret she hasn't even told her mother. She has the power to become invisible, but all she wants to be is the normal teenager she appears to be. But when she is being followed, and her best friend dissappears, she learns the truth about herself. She is a godess, who must fight evil and return people's lost hope. I'm looking forward to reading more books in the series, and I'm going to recommend it to my friends who like to read books that are unique and magical
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: This is the first in the series of 11 so far it is about Vanessa and her ability to turn invisible. She and Catty know that they're different from other girls. Because Catty can travel back in time. So what happens is Vanessa meets Michael Saratoga and whenever he tries to kiss her she turns invisible. Also someone is following her and she knows why her secret has been discovered. She is also getting nightmares. This isn't the best book in the series but it's a pretty good start.
Rating: Summary: Two teens discover the secret to their mysterious powers. Review: Vanessa and her best friend, Catty, appear to be just two normal teenage girls. But the Los Angeles high school students both have mysterious supernatural powers that set them apart from others. Vanessa has the ability to become invisible, and Catty can travel through time. They have known about these powers since they were little girls, but they have kept them hidden from everyone but each other. But now Catty has dissapeared. If Vanessa wants to save her friend, she's going to have to trust two other girls who say they are like her and Catty, as well as a mysterious woman who claims Vanessa is a goddess. I really enjoyed this book. I can't wait to read future titles in the series. I would reccomend it to teens who like fantasy, but not to anyone younger than twelve or thirteen.
Rating: Summary: DOTM RPG Review: Hi everyone this book is really good and so a friend of mine and i decided to make an RPG based on this books. So if you want to start rpging right from the beginning you have to join quick but you can enter it every time later too. (...)
Rating: Summary: Love this book Review: I got this book for Christmas and put it on the shelf. My friends kept telling me to read it and when I finally did I couldn't put it down. I love this series called Daughters of the Moon. Vanessa, one of the characters, is different from everyone else except for her best friend Catty was is also different in the same way. They have magic powers but they don't think the powers they have are magic but they think they are curses because they are always getting into embarrassing situations because of them. Vanessa has a worse time than Catty. Then Vanessa finds out what she really is and you think that would be a good thing, but then she finds out that an an evil force is trying to kill her because of who she is. I recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Better than the cover Review: This book was better than I thought it was going to be, the cover made me think it was going to be completely campy and all about current trends. It definately is aware of current trends. I was very pleased with the Greek/Roman mythology that it uses for its basis. And when the book is focusing on the main character and the drama of a teenage girl dealing with problems it is very entertaining and enjoyable. However when the book takes on a broader scope--the character "Maggie" being the most problematic for me, it looses my interest and I became very aware that I was reading a very campy book. It works best when the characters are just accepting that they have powers and don't try to explain them, once the book trys to go into the reasoning of the powers it really looses me and I find it very silly. However, if I have time I will most likely pick up the second book because I did find it enjoyable brain candy and not completely drivel.
Rating: Summary: The Best Series Review: A plus side to this book is that it is like no other. Original, suspenseful, and ingenius. I'd read this book a second time if I were not anticipating the other books in this elaborate series. I reccomend this book for those who love idenity conflict, magical suspense and a taste of good old-fashioned romance. "She started to shiver and she wasn't sure if it was from the cold or fear." The main character, Vanessa, can't come to tell her mother about her "special" power that enables her to become invisible. Her best friend Catty, a time-traveler, is her only confidant. Together, they meet others like themselves and learn that they are the Goddesses of the Moon. They must work together and fight to overcome the devious Atrox! I cannot wait till I get the rest of the series.
Rating: Summary: Good Starting Book Review: I've read all of the Daughter of the Moon Books, and the Sons of the Dark, this one is not my favorite but it is still pretty good. The first book is about Vanessa, and she has the power to go invisible. But she hasn't mastered her power yet, and sometimes when she's nervous, jealous, ext.(Or when she kisses Michael) she can't control it and she starts to disapear. Catty (her best friend) is better at her power then Vanessa, because she practices it, so throughout this whole book she tries to get Vanessa to practice her power. Like staying visible invisible visible invisible, like excercises. Vanessa has always been a little weary of her power and sometimes wishes she was just like other girls. But during this book she meets Maggie and she tells her that she is a goddess, a daughter of the moon (but she says it in Latin). Vanessa is suprised that she understood her. Maggie tells her that she knows Latin and Ancient Greek. Stanton is intruduced in this book. A powerfull follower who can turn into a shadow. But he is a invitus tooken against his will. Which means he still has memories of his past. He remembers a goddess tried to save him, from the Atrox. He finds out that it was Vanessa and now he can't harm her, because she did an act of kindness to him. (That's the catch with followers if you do an act of kindness to them, they can't harm you.) This is a good book, and I recomend you read this first before you read any of the other Daughters of the Moon, because you will be confused.
Rating: Summary: WOW MUCH BETTERTHAN I PREDICTED Review: I was at B&N one day and I saw this book. Well, I didn't have the money to buy it so I didn't. Then my friend had checked it out from the school library and she told me that it was really good. I checked it out and read it. I got hooked instantley! Lynne Ewing has a wonderful imagination and I love the character Vanessa and her power. Everyone should read this book.
