Rating: Summary: The Dove House Crash Review: A Review by Kelsey This story, as you can tell by the title, is about an airplane crash. Heidi is a normal girl who lives in the small town of Nearing River. Her parents are constantly away on business, leaving her with Mrs. Camp, the housemaid. Heidi and her family live on a huge estate several miles outside of town. Patrick also lives in Nearing River and goes to the same school as Heidi, but they do not know each other. He is an EMT for the local fire dept. and is tired of never receiving a real adrenaline rush emergency. One night an event will happen that will change both Heidi's and Patrick's lives forever. Patrick finally receives his first real emergency when Flight #116 had problems and decided to crash in her backyard! In this book I didn't like the way that Caroline wrote it. She wrote this book in both chapters and time intervals. For example when the plane is crashing she wrote - 5:41 P.M. Heidi looked up into the sky to see it turning red and a deafening noise filling the air. This method I liked a lot because it gave you a chance to realize how much can happen within a couple a minutes or how little could happen in an hour. Clooney would also tell the story through about 6 different characters in the book. She would sometimes be focusing on Patrick and then all of a sudden you are reading about what it's like to be on the actual plane. This way was not bad; it would sometimes be just a little confusing. I did, however, really enjoy this story. Even though it was written pretty elementary, I liked the plot and complications of it. This book was exciting and even suspenseful at times. I just wanted to keep reading. When I finished I still wanted more! Even though this book is mainly about a plane crashing, it is also a little more. People who would not normally associate with one another and work together do. Friendships are made and lives are changed as the whole entire town of Nearing River responds to this incident. I recommend it for readers who like suspense and surprising outcomes!
Rating: Summary: A Great Book Review: A few years ago my class read this book at school, and we loved it! I particularly did. The characters seemed so real. However, this book is not for someone who is squemish, or cannot take reading about all of the terrible things that happened to the passengers when they crashed. But as long as you can take reading about blood and stuff like that, I highly recommned this book!
Rating: Summary: Very, and I mean VERY addicting Review: This is my first Caroline B. Cooney book and since I read it, Flight 116 is Down wont be my last. This book was so addicting once I finished reading it I couldn't stop! Plus it didn't end there! I am now waiting to recieve a bunch more of her awsome books!!!!!
Rating: Summary: the book for all teens to read Review: I first read this book when I was about 12 years old. I sat down and read it cover to cover in about 2 hours and kept rereading it. 5 years later, I picked it up and reread it. Caroline B Cooney writes in a style that captivates any teenager or really, any adult into reading the book over and over again. Based upon the idea of a plane crashing in a large rural estate and the events that follow it. It revolves around key characters who have come from different walks of life and different family backgrounds. The story is crafted in a way that flows clearly and makes perfect sense. A great mention of the EMS & firefighting teams is made and one of the key characters, is an EMT-B. I loved this book andwould recomend it to any teens to read. Keep smiling and keep reading.
Rating: Summary: This book is terrific! Review: Wow, this book is great. You have to read this book right away. I promise you will not put this book down until you finish every page of the book!
Rating: Summary: The Best Review of the book FLIGHT #116 IS DOWN Review: You will not want to put this book down. Caroline B Cooney did a great job of describing what the characters and the settings looked like. Heidi and Patrick who are the main characters of the book have a big problem to solve. Heidi was at home when a airplane crashed behind her house in the woods. Patrick just got out of medic school and started to help Heidi save many lives of many people. This book is one of those books that you won't want to put down. I'm not a person that likes to read but this book made me keep on reading. This book is filled with suspense anhd some romance.
Rating: Summary: I was telling people about it like I was actually there! Review: This book was great! I loved it! I went to school everyday and I was like there was this girl who's leg got broken really bad or Patrick and Heidi are gonna do this and this and I felt like I was there! The book is about a girl who has a full 747 crash in the woods behind her house. She has to figure out what to do to save as many lives as possible. You WILL NOT want to put this book down! It's filled with suspense and even some romance! This book has everything! Especially grief! Read it!
Rating: Summary: Suspenseful, on the edge action till the end! Review: This book was grip breath taking action. I couldn't put it down. It made me cry when Carly died and when Teddie made it on the helicopter. The book was drama, romance, and action rolled all into one! Heide was courageous and smart when making the bridges and when Daniel was stuck under the plane it was painful to read yet you just couldn't but the book down. Very, very good book!
Rating: Summary: its okay Review: wether or not you'll like the book is based on your age and what books u find worthy of reading. if you like romance & drama and ur about 12 or 13 the book would be just right for you. i read the book when i was 14 and i liked it alot. but now ( 2 years later) its not as captavating as it once had been, because my tastes in reading has changed. as for a description of this book.. u could just click on the cover pic thingi! :D glad to have taken ur time with this useless review. jk
Rating: Summary: boring beginning Review: The first pages of this book are boring! All they talked about was how nothing ever happened in the town. Also about the characters and about facts that are not needed. The author needs to get in to the book faster so the book won't be so long. After all those pages were over it got alot better. Then it got descriptive about the crash. From about there on out the book got more entertaining. Also it showed how much a person can change in just one day. But, then it started talking about love between Patrick and that one girl. At which time it was boring again. Over all it could have been better! I compare this book with Z for Zachariah. In both books there was a major event which included alot of deaths.
