Summary: SUPER GREAT!
Review: ZEL is a great book. It is really graphic. Napoli has done a super job writing this book. I would recommend this book to young adult readers. It's not so appropriate for young kids. Because it was so cool, I finished it in one day! Now I want to read the rest of Donna Jo Napoli's books. I'm hoping they are just as good as ZEL.

Summary: I hated it...
Review: This book wasn't very good. Not only was it graphic, but it was occult as well. The mother was a witch, and made a pact with the devil. This is definately NOT a book for children. I wouldn't recommend it at all. If you are looking for fairy tale retellings, try Robin McKinley's _Beauty_ or _Rose Daughter_ instead.

Summary: Great fairytale rewrite!
Review: I absolutly loved zel! Instead of stopping at happily ever after, it goes deeper and describes Zels (rapunzel) anguish at being left by her dear mother in a tower. It has three narrators (mother, zel and the prince)so you see all that goes on and shows realationships between every charactor. This book is great for young adult readers but not really for younger kids.

Summary: Zel
Review: Zel, is all about a girl who lives on an alm in Switzerland with her mother. One day when her mother finds out that she has fallen in love, she locks her up in a tower and says that she must stay there, because someone is trying to kill her. Zel escapes, when Konrad finally finds her after searching for years. When they do finally find each other, they live on together until they die. I didn't really enjoy this book and thought that it was very graphic, and Zel almost went crazy in the tower! But I wouldn't really reccomend this book to anyoneand wouldn't waist my money on it!

Summary: Zel
Review: This book was another version of Rupunzel and it did not impress me. I didn't like how her mother lied to her when she put her in the tower and told Zel that someone was tryng to kill her. And when Zel was in the tower she basically went crazy! I wouldn't really recommend this book to anyone, and hardly got throught it myself!

Summary: Wow.
Review: This is a fantastic book! It is very well done. The story isthat of the fairytale Rapunzel. There are no changes at all in theplotline. Instead, ZEL goes deeper into what the characters are thinking, especially Zel's stepmother, the witch. It wasn't as absorbing as I would have liked it to be, but I still highly recommend it for those who like a good blend between fantasies and psychological novels.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: Wonderful! This is a book that should be read. The first versian of Repunzel that actually makes sence because it adds in a very important point of view: the "wicked" witch's.

Summary: Poignant and Gripping
Review: I first read this book in the 8th grade and was totally engrossed by it. Ever since, I have been trying to read it again, but haven't been able to get a copy of it. I am now in 11th grade, and just yesterday i got a hold of the book and was so eager to read it that i read it all in a matter of hours. This book is WONDERFUL! For all you hopeless romantics out there, this book will definately make you smile. Its beautifully written, and the reader gets totally into it. When describing this book to your friends (which you will be) it might sound dumb (after all, it is a fairytale) but this book is really for older readers, as it delves into the psychological aspects of the story: The mother's possessiveness, Zel's slipping grip with reality in the tower, and Konrad's fervent and obsessive search for her. I LOVE THIS BOOK, especially since Konrad's about my age! Just read this book, or better yet, just buy it. Or buy it for me!

Summary: Medi Ezvil Love story
Review: Zel a young beautiful girl lives with her mother in switzerland in the mid- 1500's/ high up the mountia where only Zel and her mother live. her mother thinks they have no one but each other. She met a young handsome prince in town on day. he found her very fascinating. But mother didnt approve. She did what she could do to keep them 2 apart. Her mother will trp her in a dungeon. The book Zel is a very intresting love story about a young beautiful girl. In the book, the character tells whats going on and what there thoughts are. It's a good medi evil story. i recommend a girl to read it. If your'er into the mid evil story, this is the one you should go far.

Summary: I have never read a better book!
Review: Once i started to read this book i could not put it down. I'ts the best book i have ever read. The way she spun the ordinary story of Rapunzel into a classic of her own was amazing. If you don't have it then get it. I am sure you will feel the same way i do about this wonderful book.
