Rating: Summary: Very realistic characters Review: One thing Tamora Pierce does very well, is load her books with characters that we can really relate with. I mean, who hasn't had a really embarrassing moment when you do something horribly impetuous, and everyone is gaping at you? Also, it's nice how the story unfolds; you can look back, and say "ah yes, this happened, because of this," and not think that your copy has a chunk missing, because you don't understand what in the world is going on. The way human emotion is incorporated is excellent too, from the evil, false Ozorne, to Numair's fierce protectiveness of his "magelet," to Daine's reaction when she is told of his death (man, I wish I can destroy palaces like that!). And finally, it's a very good link to the past two books, and the next (Realms of the Gods). It tells of her past adventures, and it hints at what is going to happen next (for example, you just know Numair's not just protective because he's CONCERNED...). In short, EXCELLENCE.
Rating: Summary: Awww, our Daine is growing up! Review: This book is really very different from the first two, because Daine seems so much older here. It was also very interesting, how we get to see a new side of our favorite 15 year-old. In Wild Magic and Wolf Speaker (my two books which are so worn they probably shouldn't be called books anymore), Daine was always this sweet, forgiving, pretty little angel. She seems so much more REAL. It's like Ms. Pierce's way of saying: "Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Daine IS capable of feeling jealousy, embarrassement, and she IS capable of mass destruction when she hears of the death of one of her dearest friends!" That, I think was a very good touch.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: OMG, this book was SO good! I think that this book and Realms of the Gods are my favorite Tamora Pierce books! NEwayz, I'm kinda glad that we're not in Tortall for this book, I mean only so much can happen in one place! It was cool to see Daine's new powers, and its so cute how Tamora is dropping hints about a future romance!
Rating: Summary: i LOVED this book!!! Review: i loved all of the alanna books and all the previous wild magic books, and next wild magic book, but this is by far my favorite. i cried in some parts, and i rarely cry about books! i almost cried at the end, just because it was finished! if you like tamora pierce, you will probably also enjoy books by: Lloyd Alexander; brian jaques; j k rowling; j r r tolkien; and of course, all of T. P.s other books!
Rating: Summary: THIS IS A GREAT BOOK!!!! (you rock Tamora!) Review: I think that this is a great book,i think that the villans are really good, and the prince was really nice. The graveyard hag was a really good choice for a villan, because usually the gods are on your side, not against you.
Rating: Summary: GREATGREATGREAT Review: This book was GREAT! I love the new setting (come on, you gotta admit that after a while Tortall gets annoying) and the new batch of characters! I love her new powers, and I have a sneaking suspicion that something is going to happen between...well, can't give anything away, so never mind. GREAT THIS BOOK!!!
Rating: Summary: READ IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: From the time Daine listens to a behavior lecture to the time she concludes her bargain (both on the same ship), this book is a must-read. From the interesting idea that perhaps all animals don't like the girl with the strongest wild magic in the world to the bringing in of divine assistance and annoyance, this book is a wonder. From the setting to the plot to the characters, new and old, this book is a buy-it-so-the-library-can-have-its-copy-back-you've-reread-it-so-often.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: This is the best book! It's definitely a tear jerker so be prepared. Definitely a must read.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't peel myself away from this book! Review: I must have read this book in less then a day, I absolutly loved it! This book tells of Daine's adventers outside of her new home, Tortall. It also solves some mysteries of the series and brings forth new ones. This is an awesome book that got me back into the habit of reading.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Book! Review: This quartet is Tamora's best yet! I love all the characters and plots, its sooo good! Anyway, about Emperor Mage, it has gotta be one of my favorite books of all times! I love the new setting, and the new characters, especially Kaddar. Emperor Ozorne is a pain in the you-know-what but thats nothing new! The Graveyard Hag is kinda annoying. There's something going on with those two! A must-read!
