Summary: One of her best
Review: This is by far the best book in The Immortals series so far. I like how Pierce has brought us into a new setting with new characters. The events in this book are what the last two book in the series have set up- the final conflict with Cathark.
Another thing I noticed is there are hints of romance between Numair and Daine that foreshadow what will come in the next book. It is very predictable that this would happen.
Overall this is a very enticing book that is hard to put down once you start it. It is one of the best of Pierce's books that I have read so far.

Summary: Couldn't Keep My Hands Off It!
Review: I have always been a lover of animals and magic. When I discovered Tamora Pierce and The Immortals Series I couldn't keep my hands off them! I just finished Emporer Mage. Daine and a few nobles of Tortall go to Carthak, the land that Tortall has less than the best relationship with. Here she meets Kaddar the surprisingly friendly heir to the Carthak throne and she suspicously kind Emporer Mage, also known as Ozorne. In Carthak she meets new friends including animal friends of course) and new immortal friends too. The Badger God warns her of the dark future to the Carthak throne, but only warns. She also meets the Graveyard Hag, a less than idealistic goddess who gives her a power only Gods have. The way she converses with animals makes me even want to become Daine and meet her and her lands. If you are an animal or fantasy reader I most definately reccommed this book as good light reading.

Summary: Another wonderful book by Pierce
Review: If you think you've read it all in the first two you are mistaken, Mrs. pierce draws you in once again to a whole new area with similar characters yet new ones as well. This book probably wasnt my favorite but it was still VERY well written and im sure MANY people enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to read and i would never regret buying it! If you like the first two books or you like tamora pierce books in general this is a real goodie for you. Dont hesitate on buying its still worth it!

Summary: Fantasic!
Review: I must say, out of all the books she has written, this is definitely the best. The immortal series is the best of her quartets too so u know how i feel. It goes about Diane, a girl with wild magic (an abililty to shape shift, talk, and other stuff) going to Kathak to make 'peace' with the emperor, Ozorne. But it is not what it seems. in this book, she gets power to rise the dead in which she makes use later. while there's other stuff...

Its full of surprises, breathtaking, its worth its rating, nicer then Wild Magic. Its a MUST read!

Summary: Very Imaginative
Review: The setting of Carthak gave Empire Mage a different flavor from all the other Tortall books, which I liked very much. The threatning backdrop and the trickly negotiations of deplomacy complimented quite well Daine's own story, where all she wishes to do is help Orzon's birds but she still finds herself being used by both a Goddess and the Empire himself for both of their differnt ends. Well, Daine cannot stand for that, now can she? Just as in the other books, Daine is the loveable girl with a streak of independance who does things her way, not theirs. And yes, I did like Varice. I will not give away the scene, but let us just say that there is more to her than a ditzy blonde who arranges parties.

Summary: If you don't read this book, you are REALLY missing out!!!
Review: This is the absolute best book ever!! (with the exception of the others in the series) the whole dang series is AWESOME!! i am really going to miss Diane once i finish the series, but i'll keep reading them over, and over, and over. Diane reminds me of myself often. OK gitting off track. I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! You better read this book or i might have to call the Badger on you and you know what he will do, call you a bad 'kit' Lata!
HINT: I love these books!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Really good, but the way Numair acts confused me...
Review: I finished this book in the equivalent of about five hours, on and off, in the span of 2 days-It was very good, but I'm a little muffed.
Why the heck did Tamora bring Varice into the pic? I'm afraid I HATE her very guts. WHY was she in his room? That is-first of all, uncalled for, and I thought that Numair was too noble to engage in 'whatever' they may have been doing-hopefully he cleared her out well enough-I hope he had the sense to, if he really loves Daine the way he feels he does.
Then, If he was doing anything, and besides, after dropping her to find her own entertainment as he goes off to flirt with Miss V, he practically SCOLDS her in front of Kaddar (Who I never really though was a bad guy-awfully nice to Daine to show her around like that-and he's always been kind to everyone, or at least cordial) that she's been spending too much time with him-HELLO where were you, old mage, when she was getting an innocent tour of the kingdom? God only knows-with Varice. I don't think he had a right to say a thing to her, or Kaddar for that matter.
So, I'm afraid if he hadn't shaped up at the end, I would proabably not be going to read #4-but he did, and that's good.
But I'd rather give you my opinion of the whole thing-which was not exactly as good as #2, but very very good, I loved the Dinosaur ressurection and AS always, I love Kitten. (Skysong, what a beautiful very dragonly name!) It was very very good, and It does deserve five stars-but don't play around with relationships like that next time please Tamora, it really gets confusing, and derives a little dissappointment after all is said and done-
I have high expectations for #4-I've gotten a whole lot in its reviews, especially about Daine and Numair.

Summary: Oh, ho! I didn't give it a perfect rating...
Review: ... with reason. Although it was very good, and it stayed true to what I expect of Mrs. Pierce's writing, I had a little more trouble getting into it. This was mostly becasue Daine was in an environment she didn't belong in at all. It didn't ruin the story or anything, but it made it harder to push along. I just kept waiting for her to deal with those aweful characters and then go home. I missed Cloud and Onua.

However, the story was still very good. I did enjoy it, but not as much as the first. I still recommend it, however. You have to read all of the series - It goes together great.

Summary: My Favorite in the Series!
Review: Absolutely excellent! The plot flows well with the rest of the series, the characters are flavorful, and the setting is amazing. I highly recommend this book, and also that you read Wild Magic and Wolf-Speaker first, as it makes more sense to read the series in order.

Summary: Emperor Mage- Awesome book!
Review: In this book Daine goes to Carthak to heal the emperor's birds and to sign a peace tready. This book is awesome, Daine meets new people (including a goddess) and learns who her dad is. I love this book, it just sucks you into it and you can't stop until its done. There is a part that shocked me though, Numairs old girlfriend pays a visit to his room! They dont say much about it but it still shocks and confuses the reader. I wasnt to happy with Numair afterwards, but the 4th book makes it all up!
Over all this is an exciting and amazing book. If you love fantasy you will be DEFINITLY LIKE THIS BOOK. If you haven't read the first to read them FIST. THIS SERIES IS AMAZING!!
