Summary: A great beginning for a magical tale!
Review: I am a huge fan of Tamora Pierce, and even though I'm a senior in high school, I still devour her books.

The book begins the tale of a young girl, Daine, who has an uncanny relationship with animals. For fans of fantasy and animals, the book is a must.

The Daine series is both imaginative and fun! I began my journey into the world of Tamora Pierce with this book, and I am forever hooked. I just recently reread this book, and loved it just as much as I did a few years ago.

While this series doesn't necessarily require too much background, I recommend starting with the Alanna series. And wait, there's more: The Protector of the Small series. In my opinion, this is the best of the Tortall novels.

Summary: Another book about an adventurous girl
Review: This is a very entertaining fantasy about a girl who has a magical ability to talk with animals. It's the first in a series, and all the books in it are good. I found this listed in a guide called Great Books for Girls by Kathleen Odean. If you are looking for good books about strong girls, check it out.

Summary: Arrgh! Too nice! Too nice!
Review: Okay, I'm probably going to end up being lynched by Pierce's legions of devoted fans for this, but... I can't stand her books. They're fine if you like honest, trust worthy, modest characters, but for people like me (and there are few) they're too nice. Quite frankly, I'm just too cynical and sarcastic to find it nice that nobles, and the King and Queen, go around acting like 'common people'. And every one's too nice. The bad guys are just plain bad, the good guys kind and resonable. "My goodness!" thinks Daine upon meeting everyone, "these rich people are much nicer than I expected, not high-and-mighty at all!"
Excuse me while I gag.
Any ways, this review was just and excuse for me to rant on and on and on, so in summary, if you love idealistic, romantic, 'nice' books, read Tamora Pierce. If, however, you are untrustworthy, cynical and with all the sentimental side of a dead squirrel, steer clear.

Summary: Awesome, when's the movie due out?????
Review: I thoroughly ejoyed this book and constantly am recommending it to others. Even though it comes after the Lioness Quartet, you didn't have to read that series to enjoy these books!.
The story takes place in a far-off Medival Europe known only to readers and Tamora Pierce the author. Daine Sarrasi, is hired by Onua Chamtong to take a band of ponies to the headquarters of Queen Thayet Rider's, Tortall. The city is the biggest place Daine has ever seen, as she trades her skirts for "active wear" breeches and a cotton shirt. ALong the way, they gang up with the most powerful sorceror, Numair Saliman who helps Daine train and bend her wild magic to her will. Daine's wild magic helps her to heal, and talk to animals. I won't tell anything else-you'll have get the book.
Now, where is the movie???? With Hollywood producing numerous fantasies, I think that the Immortals series could seriously do well at the box office. Enjoy the book, I did!...

Summary: Wild Magic-The Immortals
Review: When I first looked at it I kind of thought, "Maybe this isn't for me." But like I do with any book, just start reading. I was quickly wrapped up in the large amounts of dialouge and compelling plot. Well, you don't want to hear about me right? Here's my review of the book. Young 13 year old Daine Sarrasri loves animals, and can even talk to them, but most of all she likes horses, she decides to become the assistant royal horsemistress for the country of Tortall, so she goes to meet Onua, the horsemistress herself. The two women set out for Cria, Tortall's capital. On the way, Daine a meets a badger, but this is no ordinary badger, it is huge and has magic. He is the badger immortal. He came because Daine's father had told the badger to watch after Diane. But Daine never knew her father, her mother had just been killed by bandits, how did her father know where she was? They later meet up with Numair Salmalin, head Mage of Tortall, and with him they continue. For most of Daine's time in Cria is spent working with the horses and the queen's riders, an elite group of scouts. But when the riders move to Pirate's Swoop for training, immortals are coming. They patrol the skies and the ground, looking for something, the Stormwings are grouping near Pirate's Swoop, they are planning an attack. Different immortals are flocking in from the Divine Realms, war is brewing, and a force is growing, so powerful it threatens to destroy the world. Will Daine and Numair ever be able to stop this, find out by reading the first book of Tamora Pierce's Immortals: Wild Magic.

Review: This is one of the best books in the Immortals series!
Daine is just a common born child that has had here village destroyed and here family killed by bandits. The book starts out when Daine goes to Cria, Galla's capital, with her horse and meets a horse trade named Onua, she gets a job as Onus's assistent. As they are on their way to Chorus, the capital of Tortall, they come across strange Immortals that are just wrong looking, and have been sealed in the realm of the gods for centuries, but have mysteriously been broken!
I highly recomend this book it's one of my faorites in the Immortals series. It's so good you'll never get tired of reading it.

Summary: Animal lovers, fantasy lovers, this book is for you.
Review: I have read almost all of Tamora Pierce's books and this one is my favorite. It combines my love for fantasy and love of animals into one great adventure. This book got my imagination going and I couldn't put it down. If you like adventure, some humor, some mysterious characters, set at the time of castles, kings, queens and dragons, this is the book to spend some time with. Girls ages 12-15 might like it the most, but it would also make a good story to read aloud to younger kids and introduce them to another age. Tamora Pierce wrote this book so well that the reader can actually picture themselves in the scene.
