Summary: It May Sound Corny but it's One of the Best!
Review: I have read this book and the others in its series and Tamora Pierce does a wonderful job. Before I boughgt the book I came to amazon.com to see what others had to say, and I have not seen a single bad review towards Pierce and her collections. Any animal lover will enjoy this book and the rest of the series. Like I said in the title, it may sound corny but it was terrific!

Summary: A Great read
Review: Thirteen year old Daine has always had a "Knack" for dealing with animals. But when she gets a job with Onau she finds out its more than just a knack, but her fear of repeating the past gets in her way as she trains her new found skill. Will a crisis and an angry badger god change the way she reacts? You cannot miss this one, I've read it ten times (or more!) and I plan to read it again.

Summary: Wild Magic
Review: Wild Magic is the first book in The Immortals series and is set in Tortall. It tells the story of a thriteen year-old girl named Veralidaine Sarrasri. Veralidaine is an orphan: she never met her father and her mother recently got killed by raiders. Veralidaine, alias Daine, makes her way to the fair in Corus, where she gets hired by the horse-mistress Onua, who works for the Throne. Working with animals makes Daine realize that she can actually communicate with them better than most people can. That is when Onua realizes that Daine possesses wild magic, which is a form of magic that, unlike the gift, cannot be shut off.

This book concentrates on making Daine learn more about her wild magic thanks to the help of her teacher, Numair. However, Tortall is not as peaceful as it seems: a mage broke the spell that was keeping the Immortals locked up in the Divine Realms. Though this means that some peaceful mythological creatures are now free, this also means the release of foul creatures such as the Stormwings, who keep on pestering the young Daine. This is the beginning of a series that will lead to a war with these Immortals and with Carthak, Tortall's enemy. Though this is a completely new series, the author introduces some characters that were also in the Song of the Lioness quartet, such as Alanna and George.

Summary: Absolutely spellbinding!
Review: This book got me out of my feeling of loss when I finished Alanna series. I was looking for something else to read, when I found this BOok! This is such a great book. It brings back all the old characters as well, and lets you know what happens to them! (I hate it when I don't know what happens after ^^;;) And also introduces new characters as well. Veralidaine Sarrasri, Daine for short, a girl who has wild magic and her teacher Numair Salmalin, are the real main characters in this book. And.. well, I don't want to give too much away! I recommend this book to anybody who finished Alanna series and are looking for something like Alanna but more exciting. Wild Magic rocks!

Summary: You know its a favorite when...
Review: The books set in Tortall by Tamora Pierce are wonderful. The reader bonds with the strong female characters as the work through the series. But you know that a book or a series of books is a favorite when you can read them over and over again and still enjoy them imensely. Thus is the case with the Lioness Quartet, The Immortals, and Protector of the Small. I haven't found a single person who after reading them doesn't like them.

Summary: This Book Was GREAT!
Review: This is a great book.
It all starts ( and ends ) with with Veriladaine Sarrasri aka Daine. Bandits set fire to her home and killed everyone who meant anything to her. She 'went mad' and teamed up with some wolves to get revenge. She tells this later in the book, it begins with Daine in a marketplace trying to get a job with a horsetrainer named Onua. She does gets the job and on the way to Corus, their destination, makes a stormwing an enemy and the most powerful mage in Tortall as a friend. In Tortall all she meant to be was a horsetrainer. Instead she discovers that she has WILD MAGIC a magic that gives her a bond with animals. She ends up becoming the most powerful wild magic mage in the whole world. And,at the end of the book, she goes from having NO home to 5 homes. In short, a homeless girl discovers a rare power and ends up saving the Queen and her children.

Summary: The begining
Review: In theis book you are introduced to Diane, a girl with a strange power that allows her to talk to animals. I could tell that Numair loves her but that is for a different review. When Diane finds that sick hawk that was chased by ugly creatures calle Stormwings. The hawk turns into a man called Numair and instantly they become friends their journey takes them to the home of Alanna, Pirates Swoop. Their they are spied on by the nasty Stomwings. One day they can't find the Stormwings and in the middle of the night they are taken under seige. Fid out what happens by reading it and not by me.
