Rating: Summary: Jennifer Barnwell's Interesting Review Over "Homecoming" Review: In the book "Homecoming"I thought it was a really interesting book. The way the way the children survived without their mother and only seven dollars really surprised me. I also thought it was interesting the the way they walked for days and didn't get caught by the police or social services. Each day after they got through walking the oldest child,Dicey, had to find a place for them to sleep. I think that was the biggest responsibility of all.
Rating: Summary: Homecoming Review: This book talks about how to live when your perants is gone. Dicey was very responsible to her sister and brothers. She tried what she can. There mother left them on the parking lot. Sammy was the youngest one in there family. He did not understand what was going on in his family.
Rating: Summary: Homecoming-Cynthia Voigt Review: This book is suitable for teenagers and pre-teenagers between the ages 12 to 14. This book is wonderful and deserves to be rated even 6 stars. Highly recomended...
Rating: Summary: Homecoming Review: This is a wonderful book for young adults. I think it teaches them to be thankful for what they have because soeme kids dont have it as good as them. I personal loved the book.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book- One Of My Favorites! Review: This book was a great book- if you are doing a book report or just reading it for pleasure you should choose this book! Homecoming was easy to read and a book I couldn't put down. It's about four children, Dicey, James, Sammy and Maybeth whose mother left them in a car in a mall parking lot. Dicey, being the oldest, 13, has to take care of her siblings on a journey to there Aunts. During their journey, they face many problems like money, hunger and traveling. Dicey makes some wise choices and gets them to a great home! This is a great book and I recommend it to anyone! I can't wait to read Dicey's Song!
Rating: Summary: What happens in the sequel? Review: I want to know the traits of the Characters it would be Sammy,Dicey,James andMaybeth pls.help me the answer immediately.I want to find out the illustrator also isn't Fiction or non-fiction?list six adjectives to describe the book.Iwant to know the Summary and picture of the 4 characters
Rating: Summary: repeditive and unbelievable Review: I was required to read this book for school. First off, the descriptions of the charectors seem to be unrealistic. The first part of the book was them walking, for the most part. I got the point of their story within just a feww chapters of reading. And in the second part was more walking. I found it to be boring and i had trouble paying attention and being interested.
Rating: Summary: Bubble-gum for the brain Review: I'm not sure what I should say about this book. It was entertaining enough to make me want to finish it. However now that I'm done reading it I'm a little bitter that I wasted my time on this novel, when there's so many really good books out there. This is not one of those "really-good-books." The quality of the writing can be compared to a formulaic romance novel, or a VC Andrews book. It's fun. It's somewhat entertaining. However it's not something you will remember the next day. The characters are flat and generic. By the end of the book, no important revelations have been made. None of the characters have learned anything of value. They are the same people they were at the beginning of the book, only now they have made their way through the story's predictable events to come to a sickly-sweet, happily-ever-after conclusion. The younger readers do seem to like it, however, and I think it would be a pretty good choice for someone who hasn't read many novels in their lifetime. But seasoned readers beware: satisfy your literary tastes with something other than this. Pardon the bad analogy, but it's Chef Boyardee to your fine cuisine.
Rating: Summary: No Title Review: This book is about four kids who stuggle to live on their own after their mother abandons them in a parking lot. The oldest one tries to stetch the money that they have to survive to their cousins house. A few times running out of money, they would have to work for the food or money. After reaching their cousins the three youngest were sent to school while the oldest worked for some money. I dont want to tell you all the story but that is just some of the begining.
Rating: Summary: A trashy completly BORING book! Review: I'm sorry, but this is one of the worst book I have ever read. Although some may find Dicey's commitment to her familiy heartwarming, and the ending a "happily ever after" one, but seriously, it was totally boring and pointless, and unbelieveable. I mean, do you think it is realistic for a 12 year old to tote along her 3 brothers and sisters for a week while treaking along a turnpike in New England, and live off of $8?! In addition, the while book seemed cheesey and fabricated! This book is a waste of your time, any redeeming qualities can be far out weighed by other much better books!
