Summary: Tragic tale of a young girl
Review: I read "Go Ask Alice" back in the mid 70s when I was a pre-teen. I still own a copy but haven't read it in years. The book relates a grim tale of drug abuse and peer pressure. I don't know how the story would affect me now at nearly 36 years old but 25 years ago this was pretty intense reading.

Summary: Teen Years ( it is hard)
Review: This book was very interesting to me! As a teen myself i wanted to read this book to see what was happening different and the same in our teen years. You go though Drugs, Sex, and the law. It was hard to say no. and it was hard to do the right thing, when you read this book it will keep you on the edge of your chair, and you will just want to keep reading more and more. This book will teach parents and teens what is going on though most teens heads.

Summary: "Logic and proportion have fallen sloppy, dead."
Review: Other than the cliched drug references, there are so many geographical and factual inaccuracies in this book that it's clear this is not a "real diary". Bea Sparks wrote this book and "Jay's Journal". There's rumors she was asked by federal authorities to write them to help the anti-drug crusade. Don't lie to kids. Stop the anti-drug paranoia before we get a police state.

Summary: truly moving

Summary: A definite must read book for teenagers!
Review: I read this book just after entering high-school and can still remember that it terrified me. I believe that any teenager should read "Go Ask Alice" at least once. Then they will definitely say no to drugs, at least I know I did.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Must for all Teens!
Review: This book was so good and had me reading it without putting it down. It is so truthful about what drugs can do to a person but how at first it feels so good and makes you feel happy and on top of the world, but how they really are hurting. You should definatly read it.

Summary: A MUST READ BOOK FOR ALL ADOLESCENTS
Review: Young adults, especially teens, need to read this book. It deals with everyday issues that most teens will go through. The author writes a very descriptive book about drugs, sex, eating disorders, friendship, loss of friendship, parent/child relationship, and more. Definitely a book you can't read just once!

Summary: It was excellent! Definately a reader...
Review: I thought this book was great. It dealt with how she wanted to change her life, but couldn't. It made me relize life better now than I did. I liked how the author wrote down all her fortunes and misfortunes. Maybe other teens can relate to these situations.

Summary: I salute the author
Review: This is a book that really makes you think. I really felt like I was there with the writer, through all her troubles. I know this was a real diary and wouldn't be possible, but I wish they had said how/why she died. I nearly cried when she died at the end.

Summary: One of the best books ever!
Review: I read Go Ask Alice about 6 months ago. I am a 12 year old girl, and this book really let me know about drugs, alcohol, and and what it feels like to be on them. My mother bought this book when she was in High School for 95 cents. She kept it and I read it 25 years later. She kept it in my bookcase for the longest time and kept telling me that I should read it, of course I was younger at the time and just ignored what she was saying. But then one day, I felt compelled to read it, so i did, and I'm really glad I did. I especially like the first page that states:"Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice, Acid & Smack No Way Back." But the whole book is wonderful, and even the ending is good even though it is bad news. When I read it, it actually whisked me away back to the 70's, even though I have never lived in them before, I still felt I was there. Altogether, I really loved and enjoyed this book, and I reccomend it to anyone who is mature enough to handle some language and adult content. Thanks for reading!!!
