Rating: Summary: This is a tragic story of a teens struggle with drugs. Review: Go Ask Alice is a painfully realistic account of a fifteen year old girl's experience with drugs. The book spans a two year period of her life in the form of a diary. It starts with her first accidental experience when she was at a party and someone spikes her drink with LSD. It then covers the slow process of her addiction and her life as a runaway. It shows how the addiction leads to selling drugs and using sex to get her addiction satisfied. It is a chronicle of events that are frightening and shows the tragic effect drug use had on her life. I would recommend this book to other teens because it would have a positive impact on their future choices. Anyone thinking about trying drugs would be scared by the negative events described in the book. I liked the book because it gives insight into the teenage drug problem. The only negative aspect of the book is it leaves the reader feeling upset. This sad feeling occurs because it is a true story and gives no solution to the problem of teenage drug use. The most meaningful part of the book is when she returns home after all of her bad experiences as a runaway. It is then that she realizes the importance of her family. Go Ask Alice is a graphic story of a young girls struggle to survive in the real world.
Rating: Summary: A Powerful Book for Teens and Parents Review: As a former street counsellor in Vancouver(and having raised three teenage daughters), I gave this book to many teenage girls who thought drugs were "cool." It paints a picture of reality and sends home a message that cannot be forgotten. It speaks though the eyes of a teen and has an ending with a powerful impact! For any parent of a teenaged daughter who thinks drugs are the answer to peer pressure,or an escape from reality, give them this book - you have nothing to lose and everything to gain - it could very well be the best investment you ever make in their future.
Rating: Summary: Will change your viewpoints Review: I loved this book when I read it. I am 13 and in 8th grade. I read this book on my own free will when a couple friends told me how good it was. After finishing it in less than three days, I felt changed forever. It really shows you what people going thorugh drugs are feeling, and how many try so hard to get off, but they just can't. Reading this book also lets you relate to "Alice" and all her situations because of all the heart put into this book. I love this book and would recommend it to anyone, especially tennagers.

It outstanding, Its the best book I've ever read, and if any of you read it you will feel the same. I would Tell anyone especailly teenagers to read this book, it will either make then think twice before they act or it will make them look at what they're doing to themselves. It is truly remarkable!

Rating: Summary: I totally related to her. Teens Totally relate to her Review: A diary of a 15 yr. old girl has to be one of the best books anybody can read or buy. Not only can you relate but you can feel and really get into her. I myself am 15 and am going through these things and in a way it makes you feel like you are not alone in this overcrowed world we live in with people who comment on everything you do. I have read this book about 5 times and I can read it another million. When I read it in school and really got to put my thoughts about down on paper I totally felt I was her in this life she was living. To know she could of made it but didn't somehow in a way might help teens on drugs see what can happend to them and it has for me. I really recomend this for all teens. A honest book with a honest meaning to it and thats what makes it great.
Rating: Summary: realistic and compelling Review: I've read Go Ask Alice over a hundred times. Every single time it puts me in her shoes. I t is a good way to show teenagers what can happen when you mess up.
Rating: Summary: One of the best experiences in my life! Review: I'm 15 and I read it in 8 hours. It took me so long because I had to eat. I loved it!! I think that even if you are not a drug user, you can still relate to the girl as a teenager. I was very moved by the ending. I wish I knew why she died.I have to say that "Go Ask Alice" was the best book I've ever read because it comes from a girl my age. I recomend it to anyone!!
Rating: Summary: Disturbing and Very Profound Review: Every time I read this book (about once a year; it's one of my favorites) it makes me cry, and think. When I first bought the book, I just thought that the cover was pure black. But after I finished it, I began to notice that it was a girl's face on the cover. Every time I read it, the picture becomes a little clearer, just like every time I read it the story becomes more and more important to me. I don't care if it is a real diary or not. It gets you to think. But I do want to know why she died. When I become a director I'm going to make a movie and tell the story exactly as it happened to poor Anonymous.
Rating: Summary: Upsetting, exciting, but so true Review: I am 15, and this book really helped me to face up to my problems, i have been there and done it, and it really had an effect on me. It proves that us teenagers really are almost the same. She writes in a way that is only understandable to us, and i feel that i could really relate to her.
