Summary: eye opening
Review: This book is a piece of reality. I know this girl is my age,yet she has been through more than I can conceive. I would recomend this to anyone who has ever considered useing drugs, this diary shows the consaquences of being careless. A definate personal library.

Summary: ohh, shivers.
Review: This book really, really, scared me. A lot. A LOT. The really freaky part is, a) it is the complete truth and b) it could happen to you. Easily. This book should be passed out to drug users, high schoolers, prostitutes. I don't know about you, but it made me more scared about drugs than I already am. You should definitely not read this in the dark. Why do people do drugs? WHY? Thank you for listening.

Summary: What can you say but WOW!
Review: This book is vividly real, even if in fact it is not real. The patterns that are present in "Alice"'s runaway experiences such as cursing and using straight-to-the-point word usage is much different then when she is home and off drugs. What really blows me away is at first, she is just concerned with her weight, and then she is terrified about the grass gang! What a transition in such a short period of time. This book is a must read for all those who have been, are, or never been on drugs.

Summary: sad but true
Review: this book is for very very VERY mature readers. It has information that is hard to deal with and makes you want to cry because this girl went through so much pain and stress. Its hard to believe that this story is true. Its about a 15 year-old girl who tries drugs. She gets addicted but then stops. Then she starts again. She goes off and on. She runs away from home with a friend, and they go through a devistating adventure. i would recommend this book to atleast 11 year-olds or older. It is a book you will never forget. happy book huntin :o)

Summary: mind-blowing
Review: I read this book in one night, and shed plenty of tears at the end. It was horrifying to come to this book's end, knowing that the same could happen to me, or someone close to me. All young adults who like myself use drugs even casually should read this. In fact, it should be required reading for high school students. While the intentions are good for all the the lecturing we receive about "saying no to drugs" ...they are futile. Slap Go Ask Alice in a teenager's hand & make them shiver.

I suppose my review strays somewhat off topic, but I just had to share about how much this book strongly affected me. READ IT.

Summary: Ask Alice
Review: Go Ask Alice is one of the best books written about a teenage drug user. The fact that the book is a real diary makes it even more interesting and true because it not just ideas but true facts. It was recomended by a freind and I know recomend it to everyone I know.

Summary: Go Ask Alice
Review: The pressures of popularity and acceptance are oppressing to most teens. Alice is a misfit who tries to join the "in crowd" and becomes the victim of drugs. 'Go Ask Alice' is a book to which teenagers today can relate.

Summary: Wow- I felt like it was me-or it could have been!
Review: This book was a real page turner for me, which is incredible because very few books have ever been that way for me. It was wonderful and my heart felt every word of it. That's because I can relate to basically everything in it, well-all but running away. I have done drugs-not all of the hard ones-and I have gone through counsuling (for alcoholism, drug use, and severe depression), so I can feel pretty much everything that "Anonymous" does and has to deal with.

I have only read on other book that was like this one--in diary form. That book was Anne Frank, which I also loved. I think that both of these books have such a great way of drawing you in. I don't know how they do it, but they make you feel as though you are there with them experiencing everything when they do.

The way that she wrote this book/diary makes you feel as though you are a part of the story. She has a way of putting everything so bluntly, but having it not be boring at the same time. For Example, she just comes right out and says how good sex with Richie is, but she also shows you how she feels. "Richie is so good, good, good to me and sex with him is like lighting and rainbows and springtime." She also describes the setting in a unique yet wonderful way-short, but sweet. "We are in San Francisco, in a dirty smelling and stifling one room apartment." With that you start getting an idea and then she gives you the whole picture and makes you feel it, "Everything always feels clammy and damp here. There is even a green type of fungus mold growing in the closet..." She doesn't tell you too much, but at the same time I can still feel as though I'm right there.

The plot is also very good. It always keeps you wondering where she is going to go and what she is going to do next. She starts at home, moves with her family, stays with her grandparents for a while, runs away, comes back home, and the book keeps going after all of that. You won't believe where and when it ends.

I really did like this book because it was like I was reading about myself. I saw where I had been and what I had done and then I saw where I could have been. It scared me to tell you the truth and I was very greatful that someone did step in when they did so I didn't end up like Alice. Now to the adverage person--especially teens-I think they would really like this book because most can relate themselves to the book or at least one of their friends or family members. Especially in todays world where drugs are so common and everyone just dismisses sex like pennies on the ground. There are some who may not like this book for whatever reason, most likly because they don't relate to it, but those are the few and unique ones. If you are even considering to read this book, I say give it a try. You can always put it down if you don't like it, but if you have ever sat and wondered or just thought about drugs at anytime I would read this book. It give you a whole new out look on your family, love, sex, friends, drugs, and overall life.

This book is for any and everyone, so what are you waiting for...Give it a try!

**This would be a great thing to give to someone you know that is dealing with the same things and you don't know quite how to help. This book could really set someone straight.

Summary: A book that changed my life
Review: I am a 13 year old girl, so it was rather easy to relate to the 15 year old "Anonymous" author of this real-life diary. I read this book from cover to cover in four hours, it was so gripping and terrifyingly honest. Fifteen-year-old "Alice" is a sweet, intelligent youth when she starts writing her diary. Then, one of the "popular" girls invites her to a party, and gives her a soda spiked with LSD, which is "Alice"'s downfall. Soon she experiments with a little of everything. And gets hooked. Throughout the book, you will experience "Alice"'s amazing highs and horrifying lows...this is the book that made my final decision about doing drugs...and I never, ever will. I think "Alice" was put on this earth to do drugs so that no one else that reads her life will.

Summary: the truth is out there, just listen
Review: When I read this book, it was for my lit. class. I had heard great reviews and in the past being involved with drugs i figured it might interest me. I read the story of a lost little girl with hopes and dreams, and also a world of confusion surrounding her, and i understood her feelings. i think that people who haven't experienced something like this, need to read to feel the temptation in which this girl felt. I agreed with so much she said about the resistance of temptation and i think it's not as easy as we all make it out to be. Listen to the story and view it from your own point, but let me tell you this story is as real as real, i know.
