Rating: Summary: Think about life for a min..... Review: (...) I just think it is an amazing book that everyone should read. It puts the message out there on how drugs are not a thing that some people can just drop and you have to get help! You learn just because someone has everything going for them does not mean that they are not depressed or need help. This story is a diary of a teenager named Alice. How she gets into drugs. I cant say anything else though..cuz you have to read the book!
Rating: Summary: Opened my eyes to a whole new world Review: Title: Go Ask Alice Author: Anonymous Pages: 158 Date Started- 02 /15/04 Category: Drama Date Completed- 03/06/04 Annotation: "Go Ask Alive" is about a Fourteen year old girl who is caught between two separate lives. This is a diary of a young girl's experiences facing the world with drugs. Her whole life is turned upside down, as she experiences many places of danger. Mistakes are made, and lessons are learned. Alice is an ordinary teenager who make's her way down a long road somewhat slowly, but yet accomplished. Author Bio: The " Alice" of the book's title refers to the druggie girl of that name in 1967 Jefferson Airplane hit White Rabbit, a song that expounds upon a drug theme it's lyricist found in Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventure in Wonderland. Beatrice Sparks is the editor of this story rather than the Author. Beatrice has written several other stories about lives ruined by many bad choices. She is a well known author always allowing her readers to face reality. Both teenagers and adults can relate to these life issues that we may have faced or will face someday. Evaluation: I found this story to be a wonderful eye opener for all teenagers living on this planet. "Go Ask Alice" is a diary of a young fourteen year old girl struggling to fit in with the crowd. Unfortunately the wrong crowd grabs a hold of her and drags her into the reality of drugs. When Alice began to write in her diary, you could immediately point out the fact that this was a teenager writing all of her thoughts and emotions into one piece. The only difference was her world consisted of drugs, and only drugs. It all began when Alice's father got a new job that would force the family to move. Which meant Alice would have to find by drugs, and soon this was the only factor that was important to her. Alice faces an extreme obstacle, and anyone who experienced what she had, or hasn't will be greatly affected by this moving story. As soon as I picked this story up, I couldn't put it down. I've always been told throughout my life what drugs can possibly do to you. I was never satisfied with the thoughts, or reality of what harm can be done to ones life. In my mind I could see Alice, and I saw this amazing young girl who was completely lost. Alice was pressured, and her peers persuaded her to fall into they're world full herself, and new friends all over again. It didn't take long until Alice did find people that seemed interested in her. They took her into a different world, a world that was full of extraordinary different places that she had never been to before. This was the life of a drug addict, and that's just what Alice became in a very short period of time. Her life had been taken over by drugs. The most amazing feeling was brought about Alice, and she liked that it was so different, and much more unique than anything she had ever felt before. In any teenager's life, one feels loved and wanted by this substance. That's why so many turn they're lives over to it. I understand, and strive to find out even more answers to why drugs have to be such a great

Rating: Summary: my review Review: Go Ask Alice is a phenominal diary. It is a true story and sad to say a lot of teenagers can relate to this book in so many ways. Most all teenagers feel like they have noone to turn to noone who cares and nothing matters anymore so they go down the wrong road. In this book alice tried drugs unwillingy; from there on it went down hill she started doing this she would never do selling drugs haveing sex for drugs running away from home. When things started to get better for her they actually just got worse so end the end she went crazy and I will let you read the book to fiqure it out. All in all it is a five star book for everyone to read.

Rating: Summary: a little bit of everyone Review: 'go ask alice' is a tirrific display of what a teen goes through when confused and feeling alone. i myself being a teen can better relate to those people at my school who are cought up in 'alices' horrible world of drugs and can better understand why they can't just quit. alice tells a story full of hope and tradgedy. her life slowly goes down the drain and then miraculously gets back up anf only to be pushed back down by those she concidered friends at times and enemys at others. i realized as i read the book how she never really had one true friend except the diary... i myself have a diary but im glad that i also have solid friends that i can talk to about such things as drugs and the like.. im sure that if she had those kinds of friends then we wouldnt be enlighened into the realm of drugs and the teenage phsyci

Rating: Summary: God Bless Alice Review: I first read 'Go Ask Alice' when I was seventeen; that was thirty years ago. I still have the book, I loaned it out to numerous friends in high school and when each one finished reading it, they signed their name. 'Alice' is the best book I've ever read, it opened my eyes to a world I never would have believe existed and it helped me in the choices I made through the rest of my teenage years. Alice was born in the middle 50's; she never saw her 20th birthday. My heart went out to her then & it goes out to her even more since becoming a mother. I let my daughter read 'Go Ask Alice' when she was a teenager. Long story short, my daughter never tried drugs; not a one.
Rating: Summary: Go Ask Alice Review: Go Ask Alice is one of the greatest books I have ever read. This diary takes you through the life of a fifteen year old girl, and shows you every high point and low point of her life. This book shows you that drugs are definitely not she way to work problems out. This diary starts out with a girl, who's name is never told, writing about how much she would love to get away from her town because she was stood up. Then her father gets a job offer in another state. She is extremely happy to move away from her problems. The first few months are rough in her new town. But soon enough she finds some one to confide in, Beth. When Beth goes away for the summer the writer decides to go visit her old town. Over that summer she got her first real try of drugs and other new things. She couldn't wait to try all kinds of drugs. "...but I'm so, so, so, so curious, I simply can't wait to try pot." When she went home her relationship with Beth fell apart, then Chris comes into the picture. Chris is like an older sister in a way to her. She like writer, is into drugs. They end up running away, only to come back because they are homesick. Things get better for awhile because the writer decides to stop using drugs. But she starts using them again and runs away, this time alone. While gone, she is beat up and lets people use her so she can get drugs. She finally decides to go home. When she arrives at home she starts getting better, and is on the right track again. She meets a guy and is in love with him. "I hope he likes me because I like him a lot. in fact, I think I really love him..." But the kids at school are mad that she wasn't selling anymore and has decided to stop using. One night while baby-sitting , a fellow classmate put acid in her food and she goes crazy and starts attacking herself. She barley remembers what happened to her. She is sent to a hospital to stay. She finally gets back on her feet again and is able to go home. After this the book ends, but I will not say any more. I don't want to ruin it for anyone! This book is so deep. I have never really been moved like I was with this book. It is so easy to relate to the writer in some ways. She is like everyone in one way or another: she got to a point in her life when she couldn't confide in anyone but her diary. But when she couldn't handle anything she turned to drugs. Everyone is faces with depression at some point of their lives. The only difference is her depression got the better of her. Other then being depressed, she was like any other teenager: she loved to hang out with friends, and get her way. And she hated it when she was always nagged for not cleaning her room. But when she came home after running away the last time she found someone to confide in, it was her reason to live in a way. When things were bad at school she would look forward to going home and seeing Joel. Everyone needs that one person to confide in, or else it will all build up inside. I love this book. I have read it many times and it gets better and better each time I read it. The reason why I love this book so much is because she is an easy person to relate to in some ways. Like if something bad happens to her she think the worst is going to happening. The only thing that I don't like about this book is that it is real, and it is happening everywhere in the word. I recommend Go Ask Alice to anyone, but mostly teenagers. I feel that if they read it then they would know how their choices now determine their future.
