Rating: Summary: It's a good book and great. Review: I really liked the book and enjoyed it alot. It was about a girl that would do drugs and became addicted to drugs. I actually learned not to do drugs because they can get you in the hospital. At first when I started to read the book I thought that she was a girl that didn't do drugs or anything. She would always hang around with people who did drugs. All of you out there who do drugs should stop because they can lead to death. If you do drugs you should stop and read this book.

Rating: Summary: Do You Know Alice? Review: I just finish reading the book Go Ask Alice. I enjoyed this book a lot because it was so real to reality. I know lots of people that do drugs at my school. I can really relate to this book because I am going through the same stuff with one of my friends right now. She started using when she was 14 years old. She started out with small amounts and not that powerful of drugs. Now she does it all the time and has got hooked on heroin. I can't stand being around her when she is high. It like she is a totally different person than what she usually is not stoned. She works at a part-time job and spends all of her paycheck on drugs. She keeps a journal on her at all times and writes in it nonstop. She has let me read it on occasions and it scares me so much. I am really hoping that she quits soon so that she can go back to original self again. I think that a lot of people can relate to this book because of the issues that she has at a young age. I am pretty sure that most of the teenagers in this day-in-age know about drugs and the effects that it can hove on oneself. I think that all teens and adults should read this book so that they can learn more about drugs. Also, if parents read this book can look out for their own kids so that this doesn't happen to them. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is anyone. Also understand that there is no excuse for doing drugs, ever.
Rating: Summary: GO ASK ALICE Review: This book is about a 15 year old girl who gets involved in drugs and wants to start dealing with drugs. Her life was very good and she was very involved but then she started doing drugs to be cool. Very quickly she became addicted. After a while she ended up moving away from her family to do drugs with other people she knew. She just got up and left her whole family so she could do drugs. After a while she stared to realize that there was no purpose for any of this to be happening in her life. She went through a lot of tough stages that teens should not have to face; for example: lose of memory...very forgetful about things. She also didn't get the chance to do all the fun things you get to do at our age. Then she realized how messed up her life was and decided to get help. Some of her friends joined her in getting help but more pf them kept doing drugs than got help.I enjoyed this book a lot. It was a good book to read because it gives lessons and morals as to why you should not do drugs. It was very weird to see what kind of things can happen to you jut after doing it one time. It took her whole life away and I wouldn't want mine taken away. I think it would be a very stupid idea to start doing drugs because at 15 you are starting to think about your career and you don't know exactly what you want to do. If you do have something picked out like to be a doctor or a teacher, chances are they will pick someone else for the job. I guess at our age we don't realize, or don't WANT to realize that the stupid and not stupid decisions that we make now will affect us forever more. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. Anyone who is thinking about doing drugs or any parent who has a child that does drugs, just so that they can be aware of the things that might happen. What I liked most about this book was that everything was so real. It was almost as if you were there. The author made this book unforgettable
Rating: Summary: Scary but true... Review: Many years ago I read this book--severaltimes,first in Junior High, then in HIgh School, I recently read it again. Each time I read the book,I sawmany different 'aspects' ofher drug abuse. Currently I am a Mental Health provider for teenage boys who have been abused and/or neglected by their parents. They often use drugs and/or alcohol as a means of"self medication".I often recommend this book to my guys and sometimes their parents so that they can see what drug abuse cando to one person, never mind a family. Teenager, preteen, parent--single person--I definetly recommend this!!
Rating: Summary: a great book Review: Go Ask Alice is a true story developed from a teenage girl's diary. Because it is a true story, the author of the diary and main character's name is not given. The diary shares the protagonists true feelings, and the difficulties she goes through throughout her teenage life. The main character struggles throughout the book with peer pressure and other normal teenage struggles. She begins to use drugs for the first time during the summer of her fifteenth year. She first uses drugs unknowingly, when one of her new friends puts LSD, a drug that intensifies feelings and senses, in her coke. It is suspected by the reader that the protagonist suffers from depression problems, because she experiences many unexpected mood swings. Maybe because of a combination of these problems and constant pressure from her peers, she becomes hooked on drugs, going from one drug to the next until she is using them everyday. She slowly becomes dependent on drugs and eventually runs away when drugs do not become strong enough to cope with her problems. When she eventually decides to quit drugs, her battle becomes even harder. She has to deal with more peer pressure and taunts from her former "doper" friends. Finally, the protagonist makes friends with the good kids and is living a normal life when once again she is drugged unknowingly. This time the drug is acid, and her "trip" is much stronger to the extent of her pulling her own hair out and tearing the skin off her face and fingers. She is taken to the hospital, and once she is well, she has to appear in a trial for her drug use. In the trial the two girls who gave her the drugs turn the blame, and the main character is held responsible for the consumption and possession of drugs. She is sent to an insane asylum, where she meets many girls worse off than herself, and she decides that she will turn her life around for good. Once home, the protagonist is set on a straight path. The reader finally believes that she will never turn to drugs again. She decides that she does not need a diary, because she has turned her life around and no longer has problems she needs to share. Then, the reader is left with a note from the editor sharing the author's unexpected and unexplained death. I thought this was a great book, and I highly recommend it to any young adult facing peer pressure. This book shows you the horrors of what drugs can do and the importance of communication. I had no complaints about the style the editors chose to display the book in, and I appreciated the graphic descriptions used to convey the author's emotions.

She got put in a mental hospital because she hurt herself. Then she was good and got out. For a couple of weeks she was doing well. When her parents went to see a movie something bad happened.
