Summary: A Great Book
Review: I read this book and I must say I really enjoyed it. It is good for all ages, especially teens. It takes you into the world of Alice as she gets sucked into a world of drugs. It shows both the good and bad sides of drug use. Alice's case is rather extreme, but I think many people can relate to some of the things that happen to her.

Summary: how can you give it anymore stars than that?
Review: Ok no offense to anyone who liked this book, but if your considering reading this think carefully. Yes it's realistic for that time period, but not for now. This book is about a girl who is so stupid she barely realizes what she is doing. She does drugs, has sex when she's "trippin" ... She is completely uneducated about drugs, and for me her stupidity was annoying. I would rather read information about kids on drugs in our world today, because it would seem more realistic. I love to read, and I have to say this is one of the few books I had some real difficulty getting through because of how idiotic Alice was. Overall, I just want to say that if you read often and are used to main characters whith intelligance who live in a time period closer to ours then don't read this book. However is you like sad stories and stupidity doesn't annoy you, this book is one I think you would find enjoyable.

Summary: fake!
Review: i thought this was a good book when i was 14 or so, when i still had the nievete to think that this was a true diary....now i have re-read the book and did some research online, where i found out that this book consists of excerpts of psychology sessions, actual diary entries of an unknown number of teens, and is completely made up in places. please. if you have ever done drugs as a teenager, you know that this is one pretentious piece. When i read it last year just for old times sake, i laughed through almost the whole thing! its so stereotypical that you have to laugh, and i understand how kids especially get trapped into propaganda of this caliber. so take this FICTIOUS NOVEL with a grain of salt.

Summary: Drugs are bad
Review: this book is perfect for anyone who has ever used or has ever even for a second thought about using drugs. its a diary of a 15 year old girl whos name we do not know that talks about her sex and social life. the best quality and maybe the worst quality is that it is so brutally honest about life... of course thats because it is someones life. though it is not exactly a clishe teen life its close enough. Some parts are so depressing that i just wanted to stop reading for fear i would kill myself. Of course others were so uplifting that it just made life worth it and wonderful. At one point she runs away and while i was reading i felt like i could totally relate to her and she would be a really cool freind. She also starts a store with one of her friends whom she runs away with and i thought it was the coolest thing. of course a lot of bad things happened to her that i couldn't cope with if i were in her position. overall this was an excellent book and i dont want to give anymore away so if you have money... BUY THIS!!!

Summary: Amazing!!!
Review: I have read this book twice, and can't wait to read it again! the second time i read it, i read the entire thing in one sitting. this is an amazing story that i think many teens can relate to. maybe not to all of it, but at least something. it takes you deep into the mind of a young girl in her mid teens. how she gets caught up in drugs, boys, sex, family problems, and so much more. so many issues that teens are faced with today. and the ending will really catch you off guard!

Summary: Drugs can ruin your life
Review: This book is a compilation of the diaries of an anonymous teenage girl (from the Sixties) who gets wrapped up in the world of drug use.

She runs away to do drugs with friends, and always comes back to her family when she wants to get clean.

Eventually, she does get clean and then people from her town begin ruining her life.

Unfortunately, this book doesn't have a happy ending...and it does have some scary moments, but I really believe you should read this.

Summary: Don't listen to the naysayers; this book is a must-read
Review: Before I review this classic, allow me to counter all the negative reviews written by people who are obviously missing the point.
This book IS real, for ABSOLOUTLY NO adult could possibly understand what a teen-ager thinks and feels enough to write a book this realistic.
Besides, even if it is, you have to admit this stuff really does happen. Anyway, enough of that. Let me get back to the book.

"Go Ask Alice" is the diary of a lonely, insecure teen-age girl who slowly falls into the deadly trap that is drug adiction. Through her diary, this girl writes about her hopes, dreams, and trials, many of which teens like like you and me will probably find familiar.
For the first part of the book, she's just a normal teen-ager, dealing with her weight, parents who just don't get it (you all know what I'm referring to), dating, crushes, etc.
Everything starts to go to hell, though, when some "friends" put LSD in her drink (anyone who listens to "Love Line" have heard Dr. Drew talk about how dangerous that stuff is). After that, things start to really take off. I won't give any more of the story away, but let me just say you won't be able to put the book down.

I loved this book not only because of its realism and straightforward addressment of the horrors of drug abuse, but also because of the emotional effect it has on the reader. You can see so clearly what is happening, you wish could do something to help this girl before she destroys her life. It gets you INVOLVED in the book, which is what a book should do. When I finished the book, my whole outlook on life changed for the better. It really makes me want to get out and reach out to all the people who are having drug problems, when I had previously dismissed drug addicts as hopeless losers.

Overall, I couldn't recommend this book more, especialy to teens like myself. And to parents, I gurrantee that if your teen reads this book, they will NEVER touch drugs, even if they become roadies for Motley Crue.

P.S.
I wouldn't recommend reading this book if you are 12 or younger, for there is some cussing and references to sex. But in all honesty, if your 12 years old, you probably already know about all that stuff anyway.

Summary: questioned
Review: i like the book a lot and it was so interesting but i really dont like the end they just unimportantly say that she died like all of the other druggies but i feel that she is important just like everyone else in this world and i also dont think that she died from drugs i think that they should do an autopsy and say how she died it might have been that jan and marcie probably drugged her agin. but above all i think that it was an outstanding book and i think it was great how up untill she died she had recreated her life and everything was perfect with her friends and Joel and her family but i think that the maggot part and when she scratches herself is pretty disgusting.
