Rating: Summary: Alice in the wonderland Review: "Go Ask Alice" is a great story. I liked the book because I like to read diaries. And it was like I am reading notes about a mysterious girl. Every time I go deep in reading, I get to know her better. What made me choose this book to read is that Alice's age is the same as mine. After I knew that she has been on drugs, I wanted to know what was going to happen to her and how will she going to survive her life after she has been addicted to drugs. It's a wonderful realistic story. I understood everything she did like running away from home. I also understood her feeling about the people that used to bother her in her school. It's really great to read about stuff in your own age. It makes you understand life better. "Drugs destroy your life and you lose trust of friends and family" ever since Alice has been on drugs and her life has become scary. She can't accept her new addicted life. She can't sleep without tranquilizers. After her parents found out that she has been on drugs. They didn't trust her going to the bathroom alone. I could never live her life. It's scary and it all filled with fear. But the good thing that she quilts stopped talking drugs, after a life that's been fearless, dark and sad. It was like a second life, another diary. That's one reason she changed to a better diary. She wanted to have another good life filled with joy and happiness. I was rotting for Alice all the way so she could be a better person. And she did come a better person but she has bad luck.I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read diaries. A person that doesn't judge peoples from the things they do or feel. I recommended to a person that drugs had been offered to him before or a person that's been on drugs. I would also recommended to any 15 years old student.
Rating: Summary: Does it really matter if it's fiction? Review: When you read Alice's diary, you're bound to see a little of someone you know; that is part of why this book is so amazing. When you read this book, you realise that Alice could be anyone, even yourself. You watch Alice go from thinking she's in control to knowing she's not to being too stoned to tell the difference. Whether this story is real or not, it doesn't really matter. The entire point of this story is to get the idea across that anyone can become involved in drugs. Anyone can go from a suburban neighborhood to the city streets. Anyone can go from sleeping in a comfterable bed to sleeping with drug dealers for pot and acid and LSD. I honestly don't think this diary is genuine, but I do think this is a diary every teenager should read.
Rating: Summary: Go Ask Alice Review: I read this book when I was ten and my life experiences were permanently altered because of it. At that young age I was able to comprehend the sincerety and gravity of the subject matter (a young girl's death due to drugs) and took it as a lesson for my own life. Even though the subject of drugs was still a few years away in my life, when the time came I always remembered Alice and took the right path. It has been 20 years since I read this book and never once have I strayed from the lesson that it taught me.
Rating: Summary: Go Ask Alice book review Review: This book was addicting. Once I picked it up I couldn't set it down. This girl's life was amazing and throughout the book I kept routing for her to get off the drugs and turn her life around because I know that she really wanted to. All through the book she kept saying how she wanted to do good and didn't need the drugs, but every time she would get off them she would get right back on. I know that when I am fifteen I will never be able to do the things that she did. She ran away for months at a time to completely different states. She was so independent and able to make her own decisions with out the help of others. She was really impressive. Although I really enjoyed the entire book I was disappointed in the ending. The girl stopped writing in her diary and the story just sort of ended.
Rating: Summary: A Great book, not for those with a weak stomache. Review: A great story of a young 15 year old girl named "Alice". She seems fine and normal to everyone who doesnt know her, but shes really falling into a world full of depression, sex and drugs. I never knew that things could get this bad for anyone, but then again this is a true story. I recomend it to anyone who considers using drugs, who knows someone who is or is just looking for a good read. Stop before you start.
Rating: Summary: Reality Review: This was a sad book. But it proved the reality of drugs to me. It was the horrible truth. A real person. not some person. telling me to not do so because it's for my own good. The truth really hits you here.
Rating: Summary: Go Ask Alice Review: Book Review: Go Ask Alice Title: Go Ask Alice Author: Anonymous ISBN #:0-689-81785-1 "Once you try, there isn't a life without drugs..." Go Ask Alice, by anonymous, is about a girl who tried drugs and how she got addicted to them, and how rough the drug world can really be. This book was told from the girl's point-of-view, and it was a non-fiction book. The book was told in a diary/journal like format. I definitely thought this book was very interesting, and I couldn't stop reading it. This book went into great detail and it was very surprising because I didn't think/know how horrendous and intense a drug life could be. I would recommend this book to people about thirteen and older for many reasons. One of which, is because of the content and extreme details; which shows how different and twisted your life can be if you choose to use drugs. ... I learned just one thing from this book. Never use drugs. Your life depends on it.
Rating: Summary: For me, A life changer Review: I thought this book just otally summed up my feelings and questions about drugs, about experimenting, and led me to a better understanding the life of an addict. If you want a piece of literature about teen drug use, this is the one. While sad, it is accurate, and at times heartbreaking. My only regret is not knowing who this was.
Rating: Summary: A book that holds nothing back!! Review: This book is the most truthful and breath taking books that I have ever read. It's one of those books that once you start reading you just can't stop. It shows how a girl named Alice in her Diary writes about her life as a teenager. It;s so in detail and it really shows her life right down to a "T'. It crazy to think that this really goes on to teenagers in todays society. It is very sad and yet we look at our teenagers as the failed generation, giving some of us to believe that it's alright to just give up. But I don't see it that way, being a teenager myself. I see it as,we must look past all those stereotypes and strive to be a better generation and prove all those adults that we are a failed generation. I would recommend this book to adults and also of course, teenagers who feel lost or just to any teenager. It will be a book that you won't be able to put down. I promise!
Rating: Summary: Awesome Book Review: I LOVED this book, I would have to say that my favorite is It Happened to Nancy... I cried so many times in that book, acctually in all of them (and trust me, I am not such an emotional person who cries in books and movies and all that stuff), and it just startled me on how Alice recovered very quickly, and then turned around and died. I thought that this book was very good, and it taught me, on how that some times, i am not happy w/ my life, but that drugs, alchol and sex are DEFINANTLY NOT the awnser.
