Rating: Summary: The best in children's literature Review: I will never watch the movie, because it would forever ruin the experience of my favorite book. It brings together family and two loving dogs. It brings together everything that is important in life, in a way that both children and adults can understand. I listened to it for the first time in the fifth grade, and now read it to my classes, and reread it every year.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best of all Time! Review: I read this in sixth grade. When my teacher finished reading aloud to us I had to cover my face gecause I was shedding tears
Rating: Summary: Excellent, but sad book Review: Definately read where the red fern grows by Wilson Rawls!
Rating: Summary: A wonderful, touching, teaching, and family oriented book! Review: My first introduction to this book was while I was in the sixth grade, and I've never forgotten it. This book speaks to a child's heart, as well as their imagination. It brings tears to my eyes to this day. It teaches about determination, responsibility, consequences, and most importantly, love. It explores the differences and simililarities of the love between grandparents, parents, and children to the love between Billy and his two 'Coon dogs. This book taught me lessons beyond counting as a child. I dearly look forward to reading it to my children and sharing with them these lessons, and the joy of learning them
Rating: Summary: GROWN-UPS AND CHILDREN ALIKE LOVE THIS BOOK Review: I love this book. Never in my life has a book had such aneffect on me. I was really drawn into the story. I laughed out loud, cried alot and smiled even more. I was first introduced to this story in 3rd grade it became my favorite then and has never changed. I am 27 years old now and my copy is so worn it has no cover and pages falling out but I will never give it up.
Rating: Summary: The first book I ever loved Review: The first time I read this book was 5th grade. It was beingread to us by our teacher Sometimes when we would have our work done,he would pull out his tattered copy of WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS and read it to us. I was so enthralled by it, I begged my parents to take me to the store so I could have my own copy. Now I am 22, and I look back on this book and remember how it got me to love reading. I really got to love those dogs; Old Dan, and Little Ann. It really touched me and made me realize what good writing and story telling is. This is a must for any young adult or even a grown up to read, if they want a great story.
Rating: Summary: Wow Wow Wow!:) Review: THe first time i read this book, i was in 4th grade(accelerated class). Every day before class ended the teacher wouldread it aloud and the class would take turns reading it outloud after that. Since then (I'm now 15) i've made it a point to read this book every year. It gets all of your emotions involed; sadness, excitedness, etc. I've never come across such a well-written book. Since I'm such a big fan of animals and such, it made me exceptionally like this book. I would recommend it to anyone!
