Summary: One of the best series of books I have ever read.
Review: I have read Madeline L'Engles Time Quartet, and I have to say that after reading her magnifecent writings I am hooked on all of her publishings. i think this wonderful quartet really brings out the imagination of anybody from 1 to 100 years old. it makes you relize that the most powerful force in all the universe is love one another.

Summary: Keeps you in suspense at every turn!
Review: This was a wonderful, wonderful book!!! It was about a girl named Meg, her younger brother, Charles Wallace, and their friend, Calvin O'Keefe. They go on an adventure with 3 strange ladies to rescue Meg and Charles' scientist father who went on a trip that goes WAY beyond OUR physical world. I think you should all read this book!!!

Summary: A journey throught time and space!
Review: "A Wrinkle in Time" is a journey through time in space which catches your interest in moments. Whether it's the excitement of traveling through time or the thought of death, the interest of the novel stays in your mind. Most of this interest comes about because of the fantasy behind the plot Meg and her brother Charles have to find their father in some far off universe. This universe is so wacky it's a fantasy land within all fantasy lands. Besides the story being a thrilling fantasy, it's also a touching novel. This novel is a full package of emotions which is why this is one of the best books I have ever read. If you are the type of person who likes to be in fantasy dream lands this is definitely the book for you because that is what this book does best, pulls you in and makes you feel you're experiencing all the events that are happening.

Summary: I love this book!
Review: I just recommended it to my best friend, and her 2 children. They all 3 loved it. The children are 11 and 9. Madelaine doesn't talk down to them, or try to "babyfie" any of it. She tells a story, and they loved it. The cassette version in her own voice is especially nice. You get to hear how the author intended it to be read.

Summary: A good read for the imagination.
Review: I have read this story many times since it was first introduced to me in the sixth grade. It is what I consider my first sci-fi/fantasy book. It introduced me to other worlds than Nancy Drew and showed me that anything could happen. Ms. L'Engle showed me that maybe I too could take on my own fears. So what if it doesn't explain tesseract completely? It is a childrens' book that opens ups ones' mind to all the possibilities...At least it did for me. Read it and regress, or purchase it for your family, it is a good read for the imagination.

Summary: The plot boggles your mind!
Review: When I first began reading the book A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle, I thought that it was going to be boring because there were few surprises and little action. However, as I read further I relized that my first impression was wrong. As the main characters, Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin were searching for Charles and Meg's father, they experienced strange places and people. One strange place was called Camazotz, a planet where everyone and everything moved to the same rythm. Amazing as it may seem, this constant rythm was caused by a giant brain sitting on a platform. The children encountered strange people like Mrs. Who, Mrs. Watsit, Mrs. Which and the strange man with the red eyes. The women tried to assist the children in their search but the man with the red eyes took over Chalres' brain. As you can see Madeline L'Engle created this science fiction novel in a very interesting way. If you're looking for creative and descriptive writing read this book. Don't be surprised when Mrs. Watsit "tessers" from being a human to an "animal". After reading this book you will want to be tessered. Won't you?

Summary: A must-read classic.
Review: Although slightly limited in certain aspects of depth because of its primary orientation towards an audience of children, very few books can match this one for communicating the most important characteristics of human existence to an audience of all ages. The theme is love -- genuine love unadultered by worldly values and perversions -- a love for family and friends that is filled (and even overflowing) with joy and unselfishness of a quality that, while seemingly impossible to match in the real world, remains a goal to strive for and is even a glimpse into a part of nothing less than heaven. The crucial truth that "...our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms..." (Ephesians 6:12) is very realistically incorporated into the story as is the wonder and grandeur of the fight against that evil. As are most of L'Engle's books, this one is very personal and is and told from the point of view of a realistically depicted girl with believable faults and self-doubts but with an inner beauty that is foreign to most modern depictions of children. A truly unique blend of science fiction and philosophy without being either one at its core, it is primarily a "people" story which never deviates from that extraordinary quality.

Summary: A great book, but there are mistakes
Review: This is a great book for kids! It is very suspenseful and fun! The battle against good and evil is cliche, but otherwise it's creative. The only poignant part is that there are is that Madeleine L'Engle made many mistakes about the fourth dimension (it is not time) and she didn't go into describing tesseracts properly. Tell the kids the proper info on tesseracts and the fourth dimension, then let them read the book. Before you get really furious at the author, do remember that this book was written a couple of decades ago.
