Summary: One of best introductions to the infinity of fantasy
Review: A Wrinkle in Time is a triumph for all children to read. Meg's character fits all the insecurities that we all had as a child, and isn't ashamed to be different. Her father has disappeared and confronts anyone who thinks his motive for leaving was voluntary. With the aid of some interstellar guests, Meg and her younger brother Charles Wallace with friend Calvin, go on a universal search to bring her father home. Along the way, our brave friends face down an itty bitty force of evil that threatens all of mankind and learn the meaning of love and faith.

Summary: Great for science fiction!!!
Review: I read this book because my mom pestered me until I finally read it. It was astounding. It left me hanging. Some people's rewiews said that it was "to hard" or "to long" I disagree. This book shows the struggles Meg Murry goes through too find her father. Science fiction is not usually my cup of of tea but when you read this book you forget that it's sceince fiction. This book is different.

Summary: A book to take you away from your world into a magical one!
Review: I had to read 'A Wrinkle in Time' when I was a freshman in high school back in '92. I didn't like to read books very much but I had to do it in order to get a good grade. So I did and I was completely shocked at how I was so drawn into the story. I couldn't put the book down. And now, 7 years later I'm reading it again and enjoying it even more so now than I did when I was a kid. This book, I think, is great for people of all ages!

Summary: Opened my eyes to a new world
Review: I read Wrinkle in Time when I was eleven. That was back in 1964 when there were no VCRs, video games or thankfully, R.L. Stine. We never had books at home and my family never used the public library. My only exposure to books was the school library. So once a week I checked one book out of the library and hoped I would enjoy it.

I think I chose Wrinkle because the title was intriguing to me. I never in my wildest dreams could have imagined the world I was about to enter. I feel sorry for the kids that don't have the imagination to enjoy this wonderful story. It transports the reader throughout time and space. It deals with teenage loneliness and frustration. The concepts of good and evil are explored in a way that reach deep into a person's soul and really make that person think about life beyond the narrow, little world that person inhabits.

I've probably read this book 40 times since then. I've bought it for every ten year old I know. My children, unfortunately, don't enjoy reading as much as I did as a child. I suggested that they read Wrinkle and they both thoroughly enjoyed it to my great relief. My daughter had to chose a descriptive passage from a book to read to her 5th grade class. She chose the description of the metamorphysis of Mrs. Whatsit. She said the class applauded! She was so impressed with Ms. L'Engle's style that she started reading other L'Engle titles. I'm very grateful to Ms. L'Engle for this!

Give it a try! Don't let the "naysayers" scare you off!

Summary: This Book is TIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the best I have read
Review: This book is amazing, a masterfully woven story!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Disappointing, after all the praise I'd heard
Review: Maybe the problem was that I was too old when I read this book the first time (26), but I was really disappointed. I couldn't really identify with any of the characters, and I felt the book didn't really flow, and it was very formulaic. As a real life scientist, I found the pseudo-science very annoying, even for a fantasy novel. I have re-read other fantasy fiction for children such as Lord of the Rings, the Dark is Rising Sequence, Narnia and I find I still love them as much as when I first read them. I guess this novel didn't work for me.

Summary: Gosh! Where does she get her ideas?!
Review: I would never have thought that I would like this book so much. I had never given a thought to what L'Engle made me think about while reading this book before I opened up its pages and read it. Talk about widening my horizons! Read it. It will most likely widen yours too.
