Rating: Summary: Excellent for preteens and up! Review: My fifth grade teacher read this book to my class(over 20 yearsago). I remember I couldn't wait for him to get to reading time eachday. Out of all the books he read this is the only one that stands outin my memory - a wonderful adventure with a heroine named Meg and anevil villain that kidnaps her father. The addition of the vividcharacterization of the three witches that help Meg on her quest tofind her father are both enchanting and attention catching tochildren. A few years ago I picked the book up and actually read it.It is definately a child's book but the nostaglia value was priceless.I definately recommend this book. I can't wait until my children areold enough to read it!
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: "A Wrinkle in Time" is one of my favorite books ever.I'm an 11 year old that reads at a post college level, (and you thought you were so cool...) and this book will really capture your attention. I first read it when I was 9 and I loved it then too.
Rating: Summary: The views of a teen, who reads at nearly a postcollage level Review: As the title states, im a teen who reads very well. I love this book. I read it at least twice every year(the series before this nice thing came out) Sence I was um.... dunno been a while. When I was 11, I read it 2 times a month. Read it. It's sweet. I read it more than my fav auther Tom Clancy(sorry).
Rating: Summary: Just as good 20 years later Review: I reread this book last weekend. I had forgotten how well written and engaging the story was. This is a great read for kids with an interest in fanatasy/SciFi. One thing that struck me as interesting were the frequent religious references scattered throughout the book. The odd thing is that I can't recall noticing the Christian messages when I read this book as a child -- so while it might be a turn off for some, it's fairly subtle enough to go unnoticed by those who might take offense (reminds me of the CS Lewis Narnia books -- lots of Christian symbolism but also darn good read!)In any case, this is a great book and I think that it's got something for all types of readers.
Rating: Summary: The best book of all time Review: I love this book. It is so amazing how some people can write books like this.
Rating: Summary: What at great adventure! Review: I've read this book at least 6 times and it's great each time. This is a magical adventure to another world with Meg, Calvin and Charles Wallace as they try to save Meg's father. Read this book and learn what the "Fifth Dimension" is along with the mysterious neighbor witches....If you like this book & the Harry Potter adventures, you'll really enjoy the book "Call to Destiny" by Randall J Skrimager
Rating: Summary: Go Back In Time and Return This! Review: Who reads this kinda stuff? Ignore and you will be happy. Diffently NOT worthy of winning any award. Meg is so depressing, not to even mention a total bore. That Charles dude is too unbelievable, and is the worst character ever portrayed. Avoid this book at all cost. It also has the uglist cover I have ever seen. I know they say not to judge a book by it's cover, but on this one you might just have to! But the cover isn't important, although it does help. But what's inside this one isn't any better than the front. Last word: AVOID!
Rating: Summary: A Wrinkle in Time Review: I think the book is like a puzzle. The farther you get in the book the more you understand it. For instance the disappearing of Megs father. Teseracting is mysterious at the beginning it gets pieced together about midway into the book. You also find out about the relationship between Calvin and Meg. You understand why people acted possessed on the strange planet. You will also understand the process of kything. You understand who is Mrs. Who, Mrs. Why, and Mrs. When are. This is a confusing book but I would recommend this book to all.
Rating: Summary: Unexplained. Review: We didn't like this book because it was boring and didn't make any sense. The people kept wrinkling and they didn't explain how they wrinkled. Also Mrs.Who kept using phrases that no one understood. Mrs.Which kept streching her words so you couldn't understand what she said.
Rating: Summary: Wow...I LOVE THIS BOOK! Review: I am 30 years old, soon to be 31 next month. I have never been much of a reader until I got a hold of the Harry Potter series. Well, I read all of those, and was looking for something to read and was told that a Wrinkle In Time is a wonderful story. Well, a wonderful story is an understatement. I LOVED IT, I would have to say I think I loved it more than Harry Potter, and believe me when I say I really love Harry Potter. Well, I think that every family should have a copy of this book in their home. It helps us realize that there is something greater than ourselves, and that even though we may have our faults that being ourselves is still important and why we were put her by our creator to be who we are, not who eveyone else wants us to be.
