Summary: Wonderful, but too short
Review: I haven't read this book in almost a year, and that was only my first reading! I recoment this book to anyone. It has science fiction, fantasy, and good old fashioned fiction too. I needn't give you a summary of the story, seeing as everyone else has... Plunging into this story will leave you breathtaken. Wonderful, intreguing, aspects of life are explored in this book. It is so familiar and yet so unlike anything else. This is definately a book to get you thinking. Oh, I hope I can say this: check out The Lord of the Rings too.

Summary: On My MUST HAVE List for 15 Years
Review: My wife read me a short review of this book from a children's catalog and I immediately ordered it. I read it over a weekend as soon as it arrived and spent two years waiting for our eldest child to be old enough that I could read it to her. And three years more until I could read it again to her younger sister. And two more years until I could read it again to our youngest. And each of them spent their allowance money to own their own copy. And went on to give it as a present to special freinds. If you miss this one, it is your own fault. This is one of my (our) all time favorite books. A truly classic tale or good vs evil. A story of immense courage somehow fitting within the frame of a young, near-sighted girl. On my list, it is right up there with Stranger In A Strange Land - the book that made me a reader. One caveat - the evil in this story is truly Evil and may be too intense for younger readers - maybe under 8.

Summary: the ever loved classics
Review: First off, all four books have received new cover art, which is very magnificent and the box even has a pretty new illustration.

Included are:
A Wrinkle in Time - The first of the series, where Meg, Calvin, and Charles Wallace travel through space to save their father from the it by tessering.

A Wind in the Door - Charles Wallace is very sick and almost dying and so Meg with the help of Calvin and her old principal Mr. Jenkins must save Charles Wallace.

A Swiftly Tilting Planet - Charles Wallace must travel back to where might have beens can change history from earth's destruction by mad dog branzillo.

Many Waters - The twins have their own adventure in this one, with no help from any of the others.

This is a great set and a great price for all the books at once.

Summary: A great fanasty!!
Review: I just finished A Wrinkle In Time and I thought it was a great book. It was about a girl named Meg and her little brother Charles Wallace who went to find their dad. I like books that have adventure in them and this one did. One time they had to crack a code to get into a door. So if you want to read a good book, get A Wrinkle In Time.

Summary: Can't put it down!!
Review: I recommend this book to anyone who likes science-fiction type books or adventure stories. It is basically about a girl named Meg, her little brother, and her friend Calvin O'Keefe. They need to save Meg's father from "IT". You really get lost in this book. Definite 5 star.

Summary: A Magical read
Review: I remember reading this book as a kid ~~ and re-reading this book as an expectant mother really helps bring the magic of time-traveling alive. I remember enjoying it as a kid ~~ but I think I enjoyed it much more as an adult ~~ the meanings that L'Engle has written to convey a message to people of all ages are timeless ~~ there is nothing like Love that defeats the power of darkness.

My husband keeps saying that it was such a quick read because it was written for fifth graders ~~ I just tell him hush. Maybe so, but the points L'Engle tries to make are abundantly clear ~~ there is a battle between good and evil; there may be other lifeforms outside of our galaxy; there is nothing like love ~~ between brother, sister, mother, daughter, father, son ... or even Aunt Beast, Meg.

Meg and Charles, her baby brother, and Calvin are sent on a mission to rescue Meg and Charles' father from a dark planet. This book is about their adventures with Mrs. Who, Mrs. Which and Mrs. Where. It's a noble book ~~ one that I will definitely read to my children.

I can babble all night on this book ~~ just pick it up for yourself and see why it won the Newbury Award.

Summary: All four of them are prodigious!
Review: A Wrinkle in Time: I hated it when I began to read it in the 4th grade, but I grew to love it. The storyline is great and leaves an interesting cliffhanger which we can continue in fanfic...A great book. This is the best out of all of the Quartet!!!

A Wind in the Door: This was another great book. It includes the same characters as before (except the Mrs. W's) plus new characters. The words that Meg used in the book near the end were so inspiring......So inspirational. It's super, but the first book is a little better.

A Swiftly Tilting Planet: I was upset to read about my favorite characters in the future, but I got over it once Gaudior and the "rune" was introduced. I now use the rune in the book every day! The book contains more than one plot as Charles Wallace continues to go "within" other people from the past. Truly amazing.

Many Waters: I thought it was interesting to see Sandy and Dennys get a turn. But it turns out, I didn't like this as much as the other three. I mean, once I read the title, I had an idea it was about Noah and the flood. When I read the word, "Noah" in the book, it became a bore. I've read and reread the story of Noah and the flood so many times...Must I do it again? But it was a bit interesting, with the nephilim and seraphim. It was a so-so book......But the other three reign supreme!

Overall, these books, individually are nothing much. But if you put them together in the series that they are, it turns into an exciting adventure! My friend began reading book 1, he stopped at page 21. He said it didn't make sense. IT MAKES LOTS OF SENSE! I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!

Summary: an amazing message
Review: this was an enjoyable book, though i've read better. i'm extremely fussy about what i like. however,i give it five stars because of the basic message of the book, which comes up at the very end. i was astounded and gratified at the message that this book puts across.

Summary: Great book on intelligent children
Review: I read this book for the first time when I was in junior high, and again few days ago (about 15 years later). I have Aspergers, and so could easily identify with Meg. The book taught me some important lessons, for example that it doesn't matter if I am different, that I should use my gifts etc. Some thoughts I couldn't articulate myself, but here they were clearly stated by someone else. It also helped that Meg's areas of strength were not the same as mine. That way I learned that we gifted people are also different and that it is Ok, too.

Summary: My Opinion
Review: Meg Murray,Kalvin O'Keef, and Charles Wallace Murray set out to tesser with three unearthly "people" to go find Mr. Murry. Scientist Mr. Murry once abandoned his scientist wife to go to Mars. But with not much practice at tessering, he accidentally lands on a planet that's been taken over by evil. Meg, Calvin, and Charles Wallace use their special gifts, or should I say talents, to save their father and themselves.
