Rating: Summary: My new favorite book!! Review: When I got done reading this book, the only thing I thought was WOW!! On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, I would give this book a 15. The reason I gave this book 5 stars is because it has amazing detail, suspense, action, fantasy, all the things I love in a book. Some of my friends that read this book didn't like it. Some said it was a little boring at the beginning, or they didn't understand it, but I can't see why!! It was a little hard to understand at first, but once you get into it, you can't put it down!! I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes fantasy or science fiction.
Rating: Summary: SO boring!!! Review: This book is not worth reading @ all! I got this thinking it would be a really good book, since alot of the people I knew had read it & said it was okay. I got a couple pages into this & it didn't make any sense even then. I was bored out of my mind, but I just kept reading. Slowly, of course. I wanted to finish, but about 1/3 through it, I couldn't take it any more. It was getting to boring, WAY to boring. Don't read this book. Read some thing else, any thing but this.
Rating: Summary: A Wrinkle in Time Review Review: A Wrinkle in Time By: Madeline L'Engle Reviewed by: L.Kamiyama P.1 The book A Wrinkle in Time is a very good book. In the beginning of the book, a girl name Meg lives with her brother, Charles Wallace, her mother, and two younger twins. Meg's father has mysteriously disappeared when he was experimenting with time travel. Meg's younger brother, Charles Wallace, is five years old. One day, Charles meets an old lady named Mrs. Whasit and her friends, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which. They invite him and Meg to come over to their house one day. When they went to their house the next day, they met a boy from school named Calvin. After they met Calvin, all three of them entered the house. When they meet Mrs. Whasit and her friends, they find out that are trying to help Meg and Charles save their father. Next, Meg, Charles, and Calvin are taken on the ride of their lives when they magically travel through space with Mrs. Whasit, Who, and Which. After they travel through space, they land on a mysterious planet called Uriel. When they are there, they discover that Mrs. Whasit and her friends are not really who they think they are. Suddenly, Mrs. Whasit changes from an old lady, to a beautiful winged creature. After they discover their true identities, they then travel to an evil planet where Meg and Charles' father is being held as a prisoner. Meg, Charles, and Calvin battle through the planet to rescue their father and return home safely. In the end, Meg's family is reunited with their father. One reason why I liked this book was because of all the different settings and locations in the story. The first location was on Earth where Meg first met Mrs. Whasit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. Then there was the planet Uriel where they found out their true identities, the two-dimensional planet, Orion's Belt where they met the Happy Medium, Camatoz where they rescued their father from, and the gray planet with the furry creatures. My favorite planet was the two-dimensional planet. In the book, it says, "Oh, no! We can't stop here! This is a two-dimensional planet and the children can't manage here!" The second reason why I liked this book was because of the adventure that the characters were in. They had to travel through space, survive on new planets, and battle enemies that they have never new or saw before. When they landed on Camatoz, everybody there looked human, but there was something about them that was different from people on Earth. They were all doing the same thing at the same time. In the book, it says, "Look!" Charles Wallace said suddenly. "They're skipping and bouncing in rhythm! Everyone's doing it at exactly the same moment." It turns out that all the people are being mind controlled by a thing called IT. Meg must battle IT to rescue her father. My favorite part of the book was when Meg, Calvin, and Charles Wallace were talking to the man with red eyes. I liked this part because it was suspenseful and a little scary. In this part, they meet a man with red eyes that talks to them and tries to take control of their minds. Thy try hard to protect their minds, but Charles gets hypnotized. I think this is a good book and I would recommend this to other readers.
Rating: Summary: Every child should read this book! Review: It is unfortunate that children today do not enjoy reading as much as their predecessors did. Video games and 800 TV channels have deflected their interest from more educational pursuits. 'A Wrinkle In Time' however is one book that should be given to every child- boy or girl. It is well written and facsinating. I've yet to meet a kid who has not enjoyed the exploits of Meg and Charles and parents can rest assured that this is good reading!
Rating: Summary: Life according to L'Engle Review: Meg Murry and her brothers, Charles Wallace and the twins, live with their mother. Their Father has been missing for years, supposedly working on a top secret government project. Meg and Charles Wallace meet Calvin who also feels like almost as much of a misfit as Meg and Charles feel like outcasts. There and also three women who have moved into an abandoned house in the neighborhood, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Which & Mrs. Who, inform the children that Mr. Murry, Meg's father is in grave danger and needs their help. They travel through time and space via wrinkles, or tesseracts, to a planet named Camazotz. They understand that this is where Mr. Murry has gone to battle the forces of darkness that are turning sections of the universe into nothing more than shadow. Of course, the Murray children can't just waltz in and snatch up their father. First they must battle the evil being known as IT. IT is a very frightning thing that is described as a disembodied brain who offers people complete security if they will give up their freedom and their individuality, and become just as the others on Camazotz have. This book contains some of the most beautiful descriptions of human life, and expresses the ability of even younger folk to change the world, and to do it one step at a time. It also shows how storng the family unit is, or must be. This book conveys a worthwhile lesson about the human condition and is great fun to read. It will be a classis in children's literature.
Rating: Summary: A Wrinkle in Time Review: A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle is about a girl named Meg Murry who was sent on an advanture through time with her brother. Meg's brother and her friend, Calvin, try to rescue her father from some evil force. He was sent back in time. The main characters are Meg Murry, Charles Wallace Murry, and Calvin O'Keefe. Mr. Murry was my favorite character because he worked for the government. The character I can relate to would have to be Meg Murry because she is impatient and she is easily agitated with herself and her family. I havn't experienced any of these problems or feelings of any other characters in the book. I didn't really like this book because I don't like science fiction or fantasy books. My favorite part was Meg found her father. My least favite part was when they found out that the father was gone. If I could change anything in the book it would be to have found the father earlier. I would recommend this book to someone who likes science fiction and fantasy. This book would be good for elementary students.

Rating: Summary: A Wrinkle In Time-Alex Review: Imagine feeling a large jerk and then suddenly appearing on a different planet. That happens to Meg, Charles, and Calvin as they go on their quest to fight the evil IT in Madeline L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time. As Meg, Charles, and Calvin travel to many different planets a main theme emerges: good vs. evil. If you like science fiction and fantasy this book is for you but if it doesn't sound appealing to you, you might try other books by Madeline L'Engle like A Wind in the Door, Many Waters, and A Swiftly Tilting Planet.
