Summary: Nice concept, but lacks likable and believable characters...
Review: The whole concept is very creative, considering it was written so long ago. The book itself was overated. One of the huge flaws were the characters. I didn't care about the heroine of the book, Meg Murry. I felt she was so whiney and bratty and she must be REALLY spoiled to have an intelligent mother who doesn't even care about her grades. Charles Walluce was SUPPOSED to be loving and adorable even if he was mature for his age, but it was because he was so intellectual that I couldn't see what made him so cute. Little kids are cute because they AREN'T the brightest. Not to mention I was a little confused at why people thought so negatively of him and thought he was a "baby". "Baby" my butt is all I can say. The most human character in the book is Calvin O'keefe, but sometimes you're not sure if you're supposed to like him or not at certain times.All the mathematical things in the book are too confusing for words. The whole "tesseract" thing is as well. I mean, at one point Mrs. Whatsit (a lady who teaches the children what a tesseract is) explains what it is and two kids understand and Meg says, "Oh I must be a moron, I don't understand." Don't worry Meg, it seems NO ONE here reading this seems to understand either. Next thing you know, Mrs. Whatsit explains it in an "easier" way and it's even more confusing. Heck, if I were there, I'd be there for a very long time still asking Mrs. Whatsit what a tesseract is. Things become corny to the EXTREME at the end when the whole "love conquers all" theme enters. It's so MUSHY so STUPID, I can't believe this is a sci-fi/fantasy book. Do I recommend it? Not really. A better choice of a book with this type of concept would definetly be the Golden Compass. it's confusing to read too, but it has some nice characters.

Summary: A Wrinkle in Time: The Review
Review: A Wrinkle in Time was one of the best books I've ever read. Madeleine L'Engle is a very talented author. I liked this special novel because of the way that the author describes the characters. For example, Mrs. Whatsit and the others morph into beautiful centaurs. I also liked this novel because of the perspective. The book is told from Meg's point of view. The way that the author describes Meg's feelings makes you feel like you are really there and feeling it too. I think that Madeleine L'Engle is a very special author.
I have read many novels, and A Wrinkle in Time is one of the best. I think that the other books in the series are worse than it, but are still very good books. Take for example A Wind in the Door. This book is about Charles Wallace and his awful disease. This book is very good, but I still think that A Wrinkle in Time is better because of the concepts in the book, such as a tesseract. It is the ability to create a wrinkle in time to sort of teleport to another destination. Also the concept that in a city in a galaxy far away, the whole place is controlled by a beat and everybody does everything in synch. The leader of this city is a big brain. This book is better than most of the novels I've ever read.
On the whole, the book really good and absorbs you into a world of imagination. The book really makes you wonder if other galaxies with other living creatures exist. Some parts of this book are a little confusing. For example, when Meg had Mrs. Whatsit's glasses and she could see her father, but he couldn't see her. This story is a real inspiration to me and I recommend it to people of all ages.

Summary: Very good read.
Review: I just recently read this book, and thought it was a spectacular read for both children and adults. The book surounds a mis-fit girl called Meg Murry and her five-year old brother, Charles Wallace whom everyone in town thinks is retarded, but is really a genius. Meg, Charles and their friend Calvin head off on an adventure accompanied by the three Mrs. W's through out the universe in search of their father who was lost in space trying to fight "the black thing" which was over-powering the universe. They must rely on each other to get through and in the end conquer their fears and are party to a tremendous victory. This book is fantastical and appealing to everybody. It gives hope in an already too real world.

Review: "A Wrinkle in Time" is an exciting novel about Meg Murry, an outsider and oddball, her little brother, Charles Wallace, an amazingly gifted boy despite the rumors about him, and their new found friend, Calvin O'Keefe. Outside Meg's family, she is considered to be a problem child, and it seems to her that only her family, mainly her little brother, understands her. Then she meets Calvin O'Keefe, who also understands Meg and Charles Wallace. That night, the Murrys meet Mrs. Whatsit, a strange woman who says that there is such a thing as a tesseract. Then, despite the fact that they had only known Mrs. Whatsit for less then twenty-four hours, Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin go with her and her two friends, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which, on a journey to find Meg and Charles Wallace's father, who left mysteriously two years previously for his work as a scientist and never returned. Traveling through the galaxy with the three Mrs. W's, Calvin, and Charles Wallace, Meg sets out to find her father, fight an evil shadow that is taking over, and most importantly, discover herself. I really enjoyed this book, mainly because I liked the change. For example, I liked how Meg and everyone else could travel from galaxy to galaxy. I also thought it was interesting that the person who was really smart and who seemed to understand everything was not the oldest, but the youngest, Charles Wallace. This novel was a liitle bit different from other novels that I read this summer. In the majority of the other novels, the story happened to people who are normal and who don't go off fighting some evil shadow that is attacking galaxies throughout the universe. But the change was not a bad one because it gave things a different twist. I would recommend this story to others because I think that they also would enjoy a little change from the ordinary novel. I know I certainly did.

Review: What's wrong Meg?" Charles Wallace asked, "why are you being so belligerent and uncooperative?" The voice was Charles Wallace's voice, and yet it was different too, somehow flattened out, almost as a voice might have sounded on a two-dimensional planet. Meg grabbed wildly at Calvin, shrieking, 'That isn't Charles! Charles is gone!"(pg132) A Wrinkle in Time is an adventure book about three children, Charles Wallace, Meg, and Calvin. The three of them meet at an old haunted house. Charles had been there the night before, and met Mrs.Who, Mrs.Which, and Mrs.Whatsit. They were witches of some sort. The three children where taken away to find Meg and Charles's father. Their father was a scientist working for the government. A group of his friends came up with the idea of a fifth dimension or tessering to another dimension. Her father tessered onto a planet where every one was the same, because he refused not to become one of them they took him captive. The children have to save him before they become one of the planet followers. My favorite part in this book was when Mrs. Who and Mrs. Whatsit explain tessering to the children

Review: I loved them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They're so real yet not. I don't have the quartet, and there's actually 5, but I have read them all individually. I wish I could give all of them 10 stars!!!!
They're all great books that I think everyone who believes in/ likes magic should love. I LOVE THESE BOOKS AND THIS AUTHOR!!!!!!

Summary: Childhood Heroes
Review: Calvin O'Keefe feels a compulsion to go to the haunted house in the woods where he runs into Margaret Murry and her younger brother Charles Wallace. Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which travelers from another dimension are occupying the house waiting for the children. Professor Murry is a physicist who disappeared while experimenting with the fifth dimension of time travel using a method called tessering or wrinkling time. He's in trouble and the children are the only ones who can save him and the planet Earth from being absorbed by a black cloud created by the Echthroi to through the world into chaos. Many planets have all ready been absorbed. The dimensional travelers give each of the children a gift to aid them in their quest Calvin a talisman to strengthen his communication skills, Meg her faults and Charles Wallace the resilience of his childhood. The story only gets more engrossing from there. A Wrinkle in Time is a wonderful blend of hard science fiction and fantasy. This a great book for any adult or child.

Summary: A Wrinkle in Time in My Perspective
Review: A Wrinkle in Time is a very exciting book. You have to be able to expect the unexpected, because you never know what will happen next. The book takes you in a thousand different directions. And although it does take you to different places that are not know to humans it rarely ever gets confusing, because it explains things each step of the way. What I really enjoyed about the book is that it was entertaining, and I couldn't put it down until I was completely finished. I enjoy these types of books, because they let your imagination go and explore what is happening like when Charles, Meg, and Calvin enter some weird town that has been taken over by the "black thing" and "It". I loved how everything tied together throughout the whole book so that you could understand it. I enjoyed how funny and different Mrs. Whatsit and her friends were especially when Mrs. Whatsit revealed herself as not human, but instead some other creature not know to Earth. She and her friends kept me entertained throughout the whole book. I thought it was fun how Madeleine L'Engle had the book made mostly about the fifth dimension, and how well she explained it through little drawings in the book and words. It was amazing how she made it seem like you were right there when the characters were frightened, like when "It" was going to hypnotize them and did hypnotize Charles throughout another person you felt just as scared as they probably would. You will have to read the book to find out about "It" I don't want to spoil the whole book for you. I enjoyed hearing a different side of Charles when he was got hypnotized and became a part of "It." I also enjoyed how Charles could still remember about past events, but he would change his point of view on the things that had happened and he would say that Mrs. Whatsit was a witch and no one of them should have trusted her at anytime. I also enjoyed how Ms. L'Engle added Calvin in the book to be with Meg the whole way through, and to make decisions for the group as well without him the book would have probably been really different. When they are excited you are excited, when they are scared you are scared the book brings the emotions of the characters into you. Ms. L'Engle made the book come to life, and as if you were apart of all the adventures Charles Wallace and Meg Murry went through. It was as if was really happening you could almost see it happening in your head, and it partly traveled down into your eyes so that your eyes could see what was happening as well. It was as though you could see without your eyes at some points, and read without thinking about it at others you would just read the pages without concentration on each word. I think the title for this book is very appropriate because tesseract, which is part of the fifth dimension in which Meg and Charles' father are stuck in, because he has not learned to tesser perfectly yet, is the same as a wrinkle in time. Meg and Charles' father has got himself lost somewhere out in space, and that's were the adventure begins. Meg, Calvin, Meg's new friend, and Charles are off to find their father. And you are going to be right there with them throughout the whole book. To find out if they succeed you will have to read the book, and don't skim or you might miss something very important although it may not seem important at the moment. I think this is by far one of my all time favorite books. If you enjoy J.K Rowling's Harry Potter books then I guarantee you will enjoy these. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone who is willing to listen. I enjoyed this book immensely and couldn't put it down and I hope you can discover the same experience throughout the entire book. Now go out and find this book to go into an adventure of a lifetime that you will want everyone to know about.

Summary: A Wrinkle in Time: A Story of Time Travel
Review: On a dark and stormy night, Meg Murry and her family are enjoying a midnight snack when an odd stranger arrives at their door. The stranger claims to be off course and is about to leave when she says, "by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract". Meg's father had vanished while experimenting with this fifth dimension of time travel. Now Meg, her brother Charles Wallace and her friend Calvin must find her long lost father. Their search will take them out of our solar system to other planets and galaxies in a long, dangerous quest with surprising twists and turns. Personally, I enjoyed this novel mostly because it was not your average science fiction book. It did not have aliens killing humans or vise versa. Instead one reads about time travel in a heart-stopping journey. I thought this novel was as good as H. G. Wells' Time Machine. I enjoyed this adventure very much. I would recommend this story to others because it is not a long book but a well-written and exciting tale.

A Wrinkle in Time
After reading this novel I really enjoyed learning about the characters as they go on this long journey through a different dimension in hope of finding they're father. One aspect I enjoyed about the book is how the characters, Meg, Charles Wallace and Calvin O' Keefe interact and work together to find Mr. Murry and along the way they discover they're strengths and weaknesses. This novel was unlike most of the other books I've read in the sense that it is mostly time traveling through space with some supernatural elements thrown in. Overall I am very glad I had the opportunity to read this novel and I am looking forward to reading the sequel, A Wind in the Door.
