Summary: A Fantastic Fantasy
Review: I liked A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'engle for many different reasons. I loved this book because the author grabbed my attention right away, with an exciting first chapter. I thought each character played an important role, meaning there were no characters that were not needed for the plot. It was marvelous how evil the author made the villains. The book would not have been as enjoyable if the villains were not such a pest to the other characters. I love how detailed the chapters were and how complicated the story line was. I disliked how there were some points in the chapters that were very boring and were not really needed for the plot. I also disliked how the ending to the book. Most novels that I enjoy reading are realistic fiction, such as Black Hawk Down. While A Wrinkle in Time was fantasy, I had a real hard time getting involved with the plot. I enjoy novels that I can relate to the characters and there roles in the book. I really enjoyed this book because it made you think and try to anticipate the next twist within the plot. Overall I did enjoy this book tremendously and I would recommend this book to others who enjoy fantasies and who like to outthink the author.

Review: A Wrinkle in Time

"A Wrinkle in Time" is about three children: Margaret Murry (Meg), Charles Wallace Murry, and Calvin O'Keefe who try to find Meg and Charles Wallace's father, Mr. Murry. The three of them were chosen by Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Who to find Mr. Murry a physicist who mysteriously stopped sending letters while away on a secret work project. They were chosen because of their special gifts. Meg's gift is her faults, Charles Wallace's gift is the resilience of childhood and Calvin's gift is the ability to communicate with all kinds of people. Mr. Murry vanished to a planet called Camazotz. The three women, Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Who are actually stars that help the children travel to the planet to save Mr. Murry.

When the children traveled to Camazotz they had to go by Mars. Camazotz is surrounded by a shadow that they had to pass through that makes you cold and freeze. Mrs. Who gave them glasses that made it possible to go though doors. The controller of Camazotz was named "IT". Everyone at Camazotz did everything the same way. IT was a BIG brain in a special room that controlled every body and brain. Charles Wallace was controlled by IT and Charles Wallace did everything that IT wanted him to do. Mr. Murry was found by Meg and Calvin. Megs puts the glasses from Mrs. Who and went through the door to her dad. Charles Wallace tried to stop her from getting in but he couldn't. Calvin tried to communicate with Charles Wallace, but couldn't. After the children got their father, Charles Wallace made them go to IT. IT tried to take over Meg and she began to get sick and couldn't move a muscle. Mr. Murry and Calvin thought that she was dead, Meg could hear everything they said and tried to talk, but couldn't.

Mr. Murry and Calvin took Meg without Charles to a strange planet called, Ixchel. Meg was still sick and couldn't move, and strange creatures approach them. They looked like humans except that they had no eyes. The creatures healed Meg and make her feel better. Everyone ate and slept. They discussed how to get Charles Wallace back to normal and to bring home. Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Who reappeared in Ixchel and told them only Meg should return to Charles Wallace from Camazotz because she is the only one who can. She was sent alone, but guided by Mrs. Who. Mrs. Who told Meg that she had something that could defeat IT and Meg had to figure it out.

Meg went to IT and saw Charles Wallace opened jaw parsing IT. Meg thought what she had and it was LOVE. She went up to Charles Wallace and said "I LOVE YOU" millions of times. She guessed right. Charles Wallace was freed and they hugged and were filled with joy. Suddenly, they were transported back home and both Mr. Murry and Calvin were there. Mrs. Murry and Mr. Murry were back together. All spread love and joy around. Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Who also came and said good-bye and vanished with the wind.

"A Wrinkle in Time" is somewhat like "My Secret War" because they are both about adventure children who solve problems. However "My Secret War" was more realistic because it took place during World War II and the bad guys are spies didn't seem to be made up figures. They rode on bikes, not floating in the air. They stopped a spy not a strange creature named "IT". "My Secret War" was about a girl named Madeline Beck. She was the main character like in "A Wrinkle in Time", Margate Murry. They both had someone to worry about! Madeline Beck worried a lot about her father who was a soldier and she helped him by recycling cans, doing a vegetable garden, and giving clothes to the soldiers. Margate Murry helped to get her father back to from Camazotz going there and searching for him with Charles Wallace Murry and Calvin O'Keefe. Both helped others, even when they were afraid.

"A Wrinkle in Time" was enjoyable because it had very adventuresome characters. For example, Meg tried to find her father and face dangers bravely. Another example, Meg and Mr. Murry, and Calvin had to go up to "IT" and try to get Charles Wallace. When "IT" started to control Megan, she tried to stop "IT" but couldn't Also, the children had to use their common sense and think about how to save their families and help one another. When Meg and Calvin were trying to get her father out of the prison controlled by "IT", Meg remembered that Mrs. Who gave them glasses that you could use to go through a wall. I loved this novel because even thought it was not real "A Wrinkle in Time" it made me feel like I was there. The children seemed like real children with good and bad points.

I would recommend this book to others because I think that everyone needs to read about an adventuresome family. When their father disappeared it made the readers feel how it would be to lose their father or any part of your family. In a way it made me feel good that my dad and mom are lawyers, not Scientists, because I don't want them to vanish like Mr. Murry did.

A Wrinkle in Time was enjoyable to read
because it was exciting and adventurous. The
book could be considered both science fiction
and mystery. I enjoyed this book because the
three main characters in the book were trying
to reach what seemed to be an unattainable
goal. They managed to achieve their goal by
using three important qualities, teamwork,
hard work, and most importantly love.

Unfortunately, the ending in this book
was not what the reader would have expected.
The book came to a sudden end without any of
the adventure or excitement which came before
it. The disappointing ending makes this book
difficult for me to recommend.

Review: A Wrinkle in Time is great book for people who love to imagine. Once you start this book, it is very hard to put down. What I like about this book is how it sets up the story showing how Meg does nothing right and everyone thinks that Charles Wallace is stupid and cannot talk. Then you look at the conclusion of the book and you can see how far they have come. I enjoyed how the author helped us to learn about the fifth dimension by ant pictures and words. This book also educates you about tessering. I loved this book because it forced you to imagine about the fifth dimension an example of imagining is after father's tessers to save Meg this is a completely new planet with unknown creatures, which makes it fun to imagine. It was also fun to see Mrs. Which talk lliike thhiss. I like how this book showed that you should not get cocky the last person you expected to be controlled by "IT" was Charles Wallace but he was the only one "IT" got. A Wrinkle in Time is very fun to read. This was a unique novel which is hard to compare with.If you like "Harry Potter" you would enjoy this. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who can read. You should read this book because it makes you think about if we are alone and about much more. This book is even better with an imagination. A Winkle in Time is a terrific science fiction novel everyone should read.

Review: A Wrinkle in Time was my favorite book I read this summer and it was full of adventure and excitement. I hope this review helps anyone interested in this book. A Wrinkle in time is an exciting book about a girl named Meg Murry, her brother Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin, who went to find Meg's father. Charles met a woman named Mrs. Whatsit and started spending time with her. Mrs. Whatsit lived with two other ladies, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which. On a stormy night, Mrs. Whatsit told them about her father who mysteriously disappeared. They go off to a far away land by making a wrinkle in time to save her father. The three must fight evil forces like "It" and the "Black Thing" but with the help of Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which.

The book had some fun parts that I really liked. For example, they went to a star on Orion's Belt to see what was happening on Earth. I liked this part because it showed them what their parents did when they were not looking. This book was different in a good way from others I read because it had kids going on a wild adventure and showed the kids reaction instead of an adult's or an animal's reaction. A Wrinkle in Time was a great book and I highly recommend it. I hope my review helped encourage you to read this fascinating story, and if you do read it, I hope you enjoy it too!

Summary: Not Your Average Family But An Excellent Book
Review: Do you know any family whose parents are scientists' experimenting with the fifth dimension; whose son befriends a friendly woman/centaur who can change her shape to anything; and have a daughter, Meg, who has traveled through time? Meg Murry, Charles Wallace, her brother, and her friend Calvin go on a courageous yet required journey through time and space to save the Murry's father. On the way, they meet many interesting characters including three mysterious "women", a blind creature called "Aunt Beast" and a witty yet evil brain. This book holds an incredibly interesting story and I enjoyed reading it the whole time.

I loved the whole book, but one event and two characters stuck out as my favorite. My favorite characters were Meg Murry and Mrs. Who. I liked reading the quotes spoken by Mrs. Who and Meg I liked because she was brave most of the time on the journey in difficult situations, even though she cried many times and got confused a lot. The event that I was most fond of was when Meg, Calvin, Charles Wallace, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Who "tesser" to Camazotz where all the people are controlled by IT. My favorite part on Camazotz was when all the kids were bouncing their balls and all of them go in their houses save one, who had dropped his ball. That proves that IT doesn't have total control. I loved reading this book and I am going to read it again and again.

The only other books like this one I have read are A Wind in the Door and Many Waters both by Madeleine L'engle, the author of A Wrinkle in Time too. Even though I recommend all three books, I enjoyed A Wrinkle in Time the most. A Wrinkle in Time brought me to new places, different dimensions, and something interesting was always going on. These three aspects helped me enjoy the book more along with loveable (and hate able) characters and, as the situations Meg, Calvin and Charles Wallace get in to are not exactly something you have to worry about in real life, you can imagine yourself being in that situation. The other books lack some of those qualities, but are still great books.

I would definitely recommend this book to others, but not to all people. Some of the parts are kind of hard to understand-even adults might scratch their heads at some things in the book. Also, you must have an imagination. This book takes you to distant places and introduces you to odd characters. But, if you can't imagine it, you are losing some of the wonderful effect that the book has. Overall, I think this book will remain on my "All Time Favorites" list for well, all time!

Summary: All You Need to Know About A Wrinkle In Time
Review: I found A Wrinkle In Time to be a very exciting and interesting book.
I liked how it was full of different worlds. There was Earth of course but
there was also Camazotz and many others. I liked how when you read it, it
seemed like all of it was true. I liked it when Meg showed her love for
Charles Wallace in order to get him away from It. That part in the book
showed how true love can beat anything that tries to stand it's way. It was
hard to dislike anything in this book because it was just so fun to read. If
I had to choose one thing that I didn't like in this book it would be all of
the times that Meg, Calvin, and Charles Wallace thought that the three Mrs.
W's were their enemies, because it seemed so unlikely that the three Mrs.
W's would do that.

Compared to other novels that I have read this one was by far the
best one. In other novels, while you are reading the book, there are
exciting parts and then boring parts and so on, but in this novel I felt

that there was always something to think about. Even when they were just
walking to different parts of Camazotz, there was always something to figure
out, like how could they get Charles away from It, and when would they find
their father. It was never boring, and that's why I loved this book.

This is definitely a story that I would recommend to others. I will
admit that I am not a big book person but I really liked this book so if I
liked it then I am sure other people would like it too. I don't think I have
ever been so excited to read a book before. This book really opened up my
eyes to different books and I am excited to read all of the sequels to this
book including A Wind In The Door.

Review on Summer Reading Book

In the novel A Wrinkle in Time I liked how the author really took its readers to another demension with all the futuristic persepectives, and how the book really expanded our minds to consider the theory that there might be living life forms on different planets that we have not yet discovered. I enjoyed learning more about different planets and the life that could possibly be there because normally I do not read science fiction and fantasy such as this book. When I did read this novel I became hooked on the suspense of what could happen next in the Wallace's lives and was always wandering if in the end everyone was reunited. The question if Meg and her family would become reuntied always lingered in the back of my mind, therefore it motivated me to finish the book. I also really liked this book because of all the interesting characters and all the different personalities. For example Meg is a quiet and self concious young woman who is always doubting herself and her talents, but in the end when the fate of her younger brother was in her hands she had to find her true talent inorder to rescue Charles from the IT. This gift was with her all along and it was her ability to love. Meg's love for Charles saved him. Another interesting character in this book that fascinated me was Charles Wallace, Meg's younger brother. At such a young age of five years old, he was a genius and had a hunger and drive to keep on learning more and more each day. He had a gift to read other creatures minds and emotions, and that was a talent that no other Wallace was capable of doing. Charles also never cared what others thought of him, because he knew he his potential. The characters in this novel inspired me to search for my unique gift and in all this book had a positive impact on my state of mind.

This novel compared with the other books I have read this summer because they are all based on and were written around the theme of self discovery. All the characters in the novels I have read this summer are all trying to seek who they are because they know they are different and unique. The main characters in these books were all trying to find something, wether this something was a new home, a lost father, or just who they are inside. They all reach their goals and become everything they want and fulfill what was needed. Even though the journey all of these characters had to make was difficult and giving up was an option they didn't turn back and failure was never a choice. When something means enough to you, you stick to it. If you get far enough turning back and giving up would be absurd, especially when this something will only help others and most importantly yourself.

My overall impression of this novel was that it was full of adventure, great characters, and most of all a great theme. I really enjoyed reading about these characters because they gave the book a lot of depth and helped to form an even better story. If the characters hadn't been so unique and were dull, then the story wouldn't have been as enjoyable because no one wants to imagine a person with no personality. This book had a great theme because not the everyday book brings us to another demension and takes the reader through a journey into space. Another great quality that I really liked about this novel was that the ending was happy and not really predictable but its not the kind of ending that the average reader would like. Everyone is reunited as a happy family. Meg is finally content with who she is and knows she also has a gift just like her brother. Her gift she finds later in the book is her ability to love. I really enjoyed reading this novel because I usually don't read science fiction and fantasy books, but A Wrinkle In Time was different and helped me broaden my horizons. I would reccomend this book to anyone who is willing for a change. Even if you know you don't enjoy anything that has to do with scince fiction and fantasy give A Wrinkle In Time a chance, because just by reading the first few pages you become hooked and won't want to put the book down. I really do reccomend this book to anyone! It is full of excitment and takes you on a journey you will never forget. Be up for a change and pick up a new book like this one!

Summary: Ben Burdick's Review on "A Wrinkle in Time"
Review: I reviewed the novel "A Wrinkle in Time" by Madison L' Engle because I enjoyed reading it, and I want other people to enjoy it too after reading my review. I liked many characteristics of this novel, and one of them is suspense. I liked the suspense because it made me read more and more, and it also made the novel more exciting and interesting. One example of the suspense in this was when Meg almost died because she went through the Black Thing when she, Calvin, and her father tessered through the dimensions. This part was very exciting and I didn't know whether Meg would live or die, until I read on. Another example was when Meg returned to Camazotz and faced IT, and tried to save Charles Wallace. This part of the story was also exciting because I didn't know if Meg would beat IT and save Charles Wallace, and it kept me reading. Another characteristic that I really enjoyed in this novel was the characters. I liked the characters in this novel because they made the story more thrilling and amazing. An example of the characters making the book thrilling was when Mrs. Whatsit turns into a big angelic bird, and Meg, Calvin, and Charles tesser by sitting on Mrs. Whatsit's wings. An example of when the characters made the story amazing was when Meg, Calvin, and Mr. Murry tessered and came across Aunt Beast, and she brought Meg into her house, took care of her, and fortunately saved her life. This novel compares with the others I have read this summer because they all had surprises, and they also had some exciting and adventurous characters. Although I thought this novel made me think and use my imagination more than I than the other novels did, (maybe with the exception of "A Wind in the Door"). This novel made me think and use my imagination more because it had many things that do not exist in the real world, so I used my imagination and thought about what these things would be like if they were in our world. My overall impression of this novel is that it is very exciting and interesting to read, and it has many surprises. This novel will also make you think, it is very suspenseful, and is hard to put down. This novel has everything there is to make a great story, and I recommend it to everyone who loves science fiction or wants to be entertained.
