Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: a real page turner, but too violent Review: This was basically a great book. I couldn't put it down. The language flowed exquisitely. The character development was excellent, and surprisingly complex, given the author's age. The descriptions of places and people were vivid, making it easy to picture each thing. The only real drawback I found was the constant gore. It seems like someone dies in almost every chapter -- sometimes many someones. That part is fatiguing and alienating for me. Still, I am DEFINITELY getting the sequel.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wow! Just WOW! Review: This book is totally amazing. When I first saw it, I thought it would be a dippy kids "intro to fantasy" book. But I couldn't have been more wrong. This book has everything that a diehard fatasy reader loves, action, suspense, and magic. I have to give this book 5 stars because it totally blew me away, and I'm sure that it will do the same for you.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book is great!!!!!!!! Review: I love this book!!!!! It's really great. It has everything you need in a book... fun, suspense, mystery, emotion, and that keep-you-guessing material that adds style to a book. But it's lacking female characters. It needs a bright, witty, spirited GIRL. Hey I'm not finished yet so there might still be a female character; but they REAllY need one. I haven't read a good book yet that didn't have a female main character along with any male character, or just by herself. Well read this I advise you!-Me

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: THIS BOOK BLEW ME AWAY!!! Review: this is probably one of the best books for fantasy readers. it reminded me alot of the DragonRiders of Pern, wich are all awesome too. its about a boy who finds a dragon egg and is then sucked into a world where your character is only defined by good or evil, there is no middle ground. he eventually joins the Varden, a group of rebels trying to overthrow the empire. they live in a Dwarven city. its amazing, and i reccomend it to any fantsay reader.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: tired and done before Review: Sorry kid, but its obvious which authors you read and that you're just a kid! The dragon is cool, but this book is so much of Anne McCaffrey's work that its ridiculous. It amazes me that he was able to publish this, with all the similarities to her work. The dragon hatches and Impresses on a boy, knows her own name, and communicates with only him (maybe someone else if she feels they are important enough) through telepathy. Sound familar? Also, as mentioned numerous times, there is the incredible parallels to Tolkien. They even talk about wizards duels, which is very Potter-ish. I understand that it is difficult to write an interesting novel, and this isn't bad for a first shot, but it is not something that should have been inflicted on younger readers, or those who haven't read decent fantasy fiction before. I will read the next book, maybe he has improved in his writing and the next one will be a real book, with original ideas and such. To be fair, he did come up with an original idea though; the dragon would sit in her egg until the person she was destined for came along. that was kind of cool. not cool enouhg to carry a whole novel, but a good start. Read McCaffrey, Rawn, Tolkein, or Rowling before this. Pretty map in the front cover though...
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Contagious Read Review: If anything, this book could easily be described as impressive. Just the right amount of familiar fantasy framework, making characters easy to identify with, and original ideas of magic and racial nuances, that keeps the book fresh. This makes for a great read from young adults on up.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best Book Ever!! Review: Eragon, By Christopher Paolini, is an outstanding book. You can never skip a page, for fear that a crucial link will be found. This book is a riveting novel. The description is so complete that you feel you are really there. Very hard to believe the author was only 15. Eragon is the first part in a series of books that tell the story of Eragon, a young boy who discovers a blue stone that is actually a dragon egg. Soon, the egg hatches. Eragon soon names her Saphira. Together, with an old storyteller, they embark on a quest to avenge his uncle's death. On the way, Eragon discovers his power within.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: AMAZING!!! Review: This book is the best ! I have never read a book that had al kinds of twists and turns. I had too keep myself from going ahead of where i actually was. It has adventure, and thrills, and dragons. It's the best. take my word for it. The only thing i am waiting for now is the second one, called Eldest. I can't wait. I'll be the happiest person ever.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: So so Review: Eragon alternates between moments of brilliance and moments of downright awkwardness. It pales in comparison to Harry Potter, King Fortis the Brave, The Hobbit and scores of other truly outstanding young adult books that are out there, but if you've read all the great ones and are looking for a mediocre book to kill a few hours look no further.
