Rating: Summary: Another Great Series by CLAMP Review: Angelic Layer is a great manga, I love it and Tokyopop is torturing me by taking so long to get the 2nd volume out. Misaki very likable, cute, and funny. Her friends, Tamayo and Koutarou-chan were very funny too! Icchan was hilarious!! I loved it when he popped out of the air duct and said "Icchan go boom!" There are obvious mysteries surrounding Misaki's parents, Icchan, and her aunt and I'm sure they have to do with the creation of Angelic Layer. An interesting note was that the manga character Misaki named her angel after was the main character of CLAMP's Magic Knight Rayearth, Hikaru. The only real problem I had with the book was that Hatoko being a preschooler was way too unbelievable. In a stretch of imagination, I would believe a second of third grader, but not preschool. Anyhoo, it's a really good manga and I highly reccomend it.
Rating: Summary: Angelic Layer Review: Angelic Layer is about a 12-year old girl named Misaki who, with the help of a wacky scientist, finds out about the game Angelic Layer. She buys the equipment and starts playing the game. Misaki meets Koutarou (a boy) and Tamayo (a girl) and becomes friends with them. The rest of the story is basically Misaki playing the game and going to school. The main reason I liked this book was because of the humor. I'd give this book a rating of between O.K. to Good.
Rating: Summary: Great manga from CLAMP! Review: Angelic Layer is another manga from the hit circle CLAMP. The art is nothing like some of their older series, like Rayearth, CCS, or X. It's different, and very cute nonetheless. This is my favorite style that CLAMP has drawn in, I think. Anyway, the story's really great. A girl named Misaki finds out about the phenomenon called "Angelic Layer," where players control and battle their very own "Angels." Naturally, she decides to get her very own! CLAMP makes lots of references to their other series--Misaki even names her Angel "Hikaru" after "a heroine in a manga" she just read. This volume ends in a cliff hanger, and I definitely want the next one ASAP!
Rating: Summary: All-around Awesome Manga Review: Angelic Layer is just an all-around awesome series. It's well-drawn with lots of action, lessons about teamwork and going for your dreams, and funny, too! Part of me wishes there were more than 5 books, but then part of me is glad that they ended it instead of dragging it out like some series. The premise is pretty simple: people train dolls called Angels to battle other Angels. Different Angels have different specialties, some are fast, some are strong, etc. I know someone already mentioned it's like Pokemon and it's true. I realized it while reading but it's still good and isn't like a total rip-off like some other series. I guess Misaki is a lot like Ash, the total novice becoming a winner. Anyway, if you like manga this is a must read! It's not babyish but at the same time it doesn't have any objectionable material so it's good for all ages. And besides, Tomoyo is just adorable! Thanks for readin!
Rating: Summary: One great book Review: Angelic Layer is one of my favorite mangas. Not only is it exiting but it combines a funny sense of humor with great reading fun. It has awsome characters, and a wonderful plot. I would say that the only downfall, if you really can call it one, is that this particular volume, ends right in the middle of an exciting moment, making it almost imposible to resist buying another. But that is th point isn't? My rating as of previously reading this is five stars, It really is an awsome book.
Rating: Summary: Funniest Angelic Layer!! Review: ANgelic Layer is the story of a girl Misaki Suzuhara who is kind of small for her age. The book starts off when Misaki arrives in Tokyo to live at her aunt's house. Misaki sees two battling people on a huge monitor and finds out it's angelic layer. She falls instantly in love with the game, what happens next? Read it and find out. This is a nice story with just the right balance of humor and fighting.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE THIS MANGA! Review: By now you have probably read a bunch of rewiews about this manga, so you probably know what it's about, so i'll just say whae i liked about it. this manga is probably the best i've read (including dot hack sighn and dragon ball z), this is because of all the good characters and the balance of humor and action. misaki is a good character, she is a loyal and good friend, ichan is funny and mysterous, and shokuo is also hiding something i cant tell you just yot. over all, this manga ROCKS!
Rating: Summary: What ist like..... Review: I Liked this manga cuz well, it reminded me of pokemon and pokemon was a national phenomonon so if its alittle bit of pkmn then its gotta be sweet. Its also not like those sugary sweet mangas like sailor moon(my god)Or Cardcaptor Sakura(Disgusting) Its a bit more like saint tail. You get action and a respectible main charactor thats not perfect(sakura) It doesent make you think girls must all be [silly]... Ya like action and cool manga superheros?? Then this is the book for you!
Rating: Summary: I know I'm a little older than the recommended age.... Review: I picked up this series because I'm a big CLAMP fan and was half-way expecting to be bored with it because of the recommended age. I have to say that I really enjoyed it. Misaki is the type of girl that I can really identify with (ie: being small but stubborn). I would recommend this to anyone, regardless of the age range this is aimed at.
