Rating: Summary: The Book for All X-Men Fans! Review: Ultimate X-men is the book for all X-Men fans! It contains info on pretty much every X-Man there is, as well as popular (and not so popular) villains as well. Along with it comes screenshots from the movie and how they made it. Also, for each X-Man (and villian) that starred in the movie, the book gives a description of what he/ she does in the movie! I truly reccommend this book to all X-men fans, and people who are just getting started to learn about the all popular X-Men.
Rating: Summary: X-cellent reference for fans Review: Ultimate X-Men will appeal to fans of the mutants because of its comprehensive explanation, not only of the individual characters, but also of the relationships between them. The book delves into the history and lore of all the characters. The major characters are profiled as they have developed since the sixties, all the way up to the animated TV series and this summer's blockbuster movie. Minor characters are profiled briefly, but they are all listed. The book contains a family tree which is very helpful for understanding the complex genealogy of the mutants. Summaries of major story lines such as Jean Grey's Phoenix transformation are summarized. The artwork is adequate, but not stupendous. The main strength of this book is the comprehensive explanation of the history of the X-Men. Comic buffs and X-Men fans will like this book for its detail. People who aren't fans may not appreciate the book, but they probably aren't interested in buying it anyway.
Rating: Summary: X-cellent Review: Well Im not gonna sit here and lie to ya...this book does OMIT alot of facts and probably leaves important stories out here and there but this is a good book if you want to grasp and embrace the extrodnairy precious idealogy that has help shape and define our fav Mutants. The Marvel universe has x-panded that I am cursed on to only following certain charcters, this book helps fill in the gaps of the other reamaning charcters and their life threating tramas. Your never going to get ALL the X-facts straight unless you have read all the comics..until then, in my opinion, this is a cool that will kind you threw the halls of the x-mansion to Asteriod M and leave you craving for more.
Rating: Summary: Great Introductory Book Review: With a franchise as diversified like the X-Men, I don't think anyone can't create a guide to satisfy all fans, new or old. Personally I find this a very comprehensive introductory guide to the world of the X-Men. I particularly like the way they structured the guide - 60s, 70s, 80s, etc. with some information on the important sagas. If you're an old-time fan, you may find the book a bit too simple, but overall a credible effort which deserves a 4-star rating.
