Summary: yeah, whatever
Review: I thought it was ok. I've read the whole series. It's not my cup of tea but I work in a store that sells books so I want to be conversant. More of the same as her first four. Well written. Some shocking revelations, many things revealed. I know this sounds vague but we wouldn't want to spoil it for a zillion fans. Certainly a crowd pleaser.

Summary: Smashing!
Review: Yet another wonderfully engrossing story in the Harry Potter world. I devoured the book in 12 hours, barely stopping to do anything else. I guess after waiting this long for the storyline to continue, a night's missed sleep was well worth the price to pay for delving into a world I've grown to love.
The story picks up as usual, with Harry counting the days until he can return to Hogwarts, and very quickly jumps into action that is suprising. This book is well worth the money, it's one that is easily read repeatedly and it reads out loud well. (I'm also reading it verbally to my three children, who were ALMOST as excited over receiving it as I was.)

Summary: A Great Story Continues!
Review: JK Rowling certainly comes out with an amazing addon to the Harry Potter series. This is a must have for any fan following the adventures of Harry at Hogwarts.

Summary: A special story
Review: Now I know, at least I think I know, why J.K. Rowling seemed to agonize so much over this book before she allowed it to be released. In this story, Harry Potter has become a full-blown teenager and while reading the book I felt like I was going through that wonderful, dreadful period of my life all over again. For Rowling to pull off this portrayal so wonderfully is truly a testament to her abilities as a story teller. The story in itself is more mature than any of the previous four books, dealing with themes of love, death, and human fraility in a very unflinching way. I really enjoyed the story and am hesitant to say much about the plot for fear of denying someone else the full pleasure of reading the book. The only disappointment I had was the big secret, hinted at in the press releases leading up to the sale of the book, wasn't really all that major and something that I pretty much figured out before I had even started reading the fifth book. However, Rowling does add some much appreciated spice to it. All in all, a wonderful book and I look forward to more in the future.

Summary: Unfortunately, not as entertaining as the previous four
Review: Overall, the fifth Harry Potter is worth the looong read, but I have to say, I was not as riveted to the book as I was reading the previous four. I found the story to be a bit uninvolving and uncreative and consequently, not as fascinating. Harry faces the same sort of trial and tribulations (although in different contexts) as he has in the past, and at times I felt a bit bored just reading "more of the same." The previous four books were almost like great mystery novels to me ... while the mystery in this book seemed to be very ordinary. Maybe I'm just getting old, or the movies contaminated me, or after three years of waiting my expectations are now unrealistic, but overall I thought this book was a notch below the rest. (it could also be that three years later I don't have the girl that introduced me to Harry Potter to share the reading with anymore .. so take that into mind when considering this review!).

Summary: Absolutely brilliant!
Review: I bought this book the second it came out at midnight on June 21 and did not put it down until the end. It's so wonderfully written with rich detail and in-depth looks at familiar characters. The death of a major character near the end is rather shocking and sad, but could be considered imperative to the storyline. It has taken the place of #3 as my favorite and I really cannot wait for #6 to hit the stores! Truly an excellent read!

Summary: HARRY POTTER and THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX
Review: This review is not meant to give any false statements or any clue about that novel itself, being that many people have not finished reading all 870, as I have done. I'm here, writing this review, just to spread my love, admiration, and passion for HP as I'm sure millions of people around the world also feel.
If I could I would give this novel more than five stars, but alas, I'm stuck only to those five. This novel is amazing in itself. J.K. Rowling is a genius to create such intricate and enigmatic characters. This novel brought me through hours upon hours of endless laughs, cries, and anger.
In my eyes, this novel starts off slow in the beginning, but I realize at the end, that this is all part of the "master plan," that will be revealed at the end. I found characters that had no reflections upon the context in the novel, only to be proven wrong as the events in the book proceeded.
Rowling brings us, again, into this fantasy world full of witches, wizards, and fantastic creatures. After finishing book four I surely said to myself that Rowling would have a tough time conquering the success of the fourth book, but for time and time again, I was proven wrong. I wanted to know if Rowling would be able to keep that same sense of mystery and aura that she had contained in the text of her previous novels, and to my suprise she did it, and shall I say, with "gusto." There are more creatures, there are bigger mysteries, and most of all, there are "badder" foes.
Harry's past is delt with on another, more spiritual level, and the reader even gets to see the personal, and "more homely" type of Sirius. We even get to see a side of Neville that I have never seen before. There was one character in my novel that "turned my buttons," but I'm sure many of you have already been introduced to him or to her:)
We are introuded to creatures that we've never seen before in the series, and we are also introduced to creatured that make a triumphant, if "stampede" like return. Snape is still the same old person, except, with a little twist. If many wondered how much power Dumbledore actually has, the reader's mind will not believe their eyes with the events that unfold towards the novel's conclusion.
This novel is a page-turner, and as many of you well know it, the beginning was really, only the beginning. If you thought it couldn't get worse, wait until the end. Again, as many of you have heard, Rowling has killed off one of her characters. I won't say who. If you would like to know who, then read the book.
What more can I say about a book that doesn't have any imperfection, lets call it, a masterpiece. Rowling has given us more Harry Potter, and in my opinion, she has filled my stomach, (in a good way.) The hours fly by as one reads Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. Before you know it, all 870 pages are gone, and just like that yoy, we, would have to wait a few more years for the 6th installment, lets just hope that it will come earlier, because like you, I too cannot wait for the next Harry Potter. I hope that it will bring to light many questions that I have had since completing the 5th installment. As Isaac Asimov??? once said, "After I picked up you book, I could not stop luaghing. Hopefully I'll start reading it someday." I'm sure, however, this quotation will not be referenced towards Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. I just hope that the next one will be longer, because I'm so wild about HARRY!!!

Summary: Best One So Far
Review: Four Words: Best One So Far

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Bit Dissapointed
Review: I was expecting some sort of wild revelation that would make my jaw drop and instead all that happened was something totally anti-climactic! Don't be expecting fabulous magical secrets. The book is highly political and Harry's much more adult and not so wide-eyed about the wizarding world. Also, Harry's so angry and temper tantrum-y throughout the whole novel, it's very irritating.

But still, loads of magic and whoosh-bang! excitement. Worth the read just to keep up on office water-cooler talk and maintain a degree of childish-ness - which is what keeps a lot of us from taking our TPS reports too seriously sometimes!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best Yet
Review: As soon as I began reading The Order of the Phoenix, I was back in the world of Hogwarts. This is the best yet.

As a parent, it's wonderful and rare to be able to share a book with my son and to be as enthusiastic about reading it as he is. The writing is so engaging, the plots so well-developed, that adults can get just as swept up as their children in the magic of this series. If only there were more books like this!
