Summary: DEPRESSING
Review: From the first book the the fourth book, the Harry Potter books were enchanting and spellbinding...one could only imagine the fabulous new adventures to come in the fifth and latest book. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, however, was a highly disappointing purchase. Between Harry's unusually negative attitude and the overall dark feel of the book, this fifth addition proved no where near its predecessors. Excitment is lacking and the only modivation the reader has to continue reading is the hope that the plot will improve, but only to finish in disappointment. To top the book off, a miserable and very unnecisary death of a main character takes place at the end, leaving the reader feeling empty and thouroughly depressed. Though I rate the other books five stars and this book did keep the reader interested, I must say that it was a very depressing experience.

Summary: Yet Another Great Book from the Harry Potter Series
Review: It's obvious to me why so many people are reading the books in this series, both young and old. (I, myself am 31 years old.) I just finished HP and the Order of the Phoenix and thoroughly enjoyed it. I found the other four books in the series very entertaining with great stories as the framework for a very imaginative world. This fifth book is no different. Though it is 870 pages, I blew through it very quickly and couldn't seem to put it down. The author did a great job of tying the plots of the previous installments together in this book quite nicely also. She delves deeper into how Harry Potter came to be who he is and sets the stage for the sixth and seventh books very nicely. I only wish I didn't have to wait to read those.

Although not entirely necessary, I would advise reading at least, the third and fourth books before this one for plot-related reasons. Several important characters hadn't been introduced yet in the first and second books and the main characters hadn't been developed quite as much as in the third and fourth.

All in all I can't find too much to complain about. It was worthy of the hype.

Summary: Wow! Worth the Wait!
Review: After waiting anxiously for this book to come out I have to say that it did not disappoint. I could hardly put it down (except that my husband demanded to read it, too). Definitely some shocking twists, and also excellent character development of some of the people we've been exposed to before (Cho, Ginny, Neville) and some we haven't (Luna). Rowling has an imagination that is enviable, and I can't wait to be able to share these books with my kids someday. This was an extremely enjoyable read, and waiting for book 6 begins...

Summary: Great Book, Better than Expected!
Review: This was an awsome book. I just finished it after four long days of nothing but reading! It starts out kind of slow on the first few pages but then it really kicks into gear. It is a very similar book to the other four but Harry it very different in this book. He is much like your average teenager. He talks back and gets very moody at points. The ending is great.......the best yet except maybe the goblet of fire. Anyways This is the best Harry Potter book yet, and a must have for any Potter fan!

Summary: hem, hem...
Review: This book kept my attention.

I read a review that said this book was "more of the same," but I found that to be totally false. The entire begining of this book is set in places we've never been before from reading the books. It was incredibly interesting to me. I never put it down and finished it in less than two days. If you're a Harry Potter fan, you must read this book. Don't worry about whether you'll like it or not, chances are you will.

Summary: A book like no other
Review: I've been reading Harry Potter from the start, and I must say that while the newest book to this series is one of the darkest, most confusing yet, I love it. "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" cannot be compared to any of the other books in the series. It may not have enough action in it to keep some people interested, but you definitely get to know Harry better than you ever have before. If you haven't read this book yet, you need to. It is one of the most emotional books I have ever read and it will keep you on the tip of your toes.

Summary: growing pains
Review: Wonderful story. Just wish I didn't have to wait so long between books. Harry going through growing pains and the realization that he's not the center of the universe. Ending was disappointing though, almost a let down.

Summary: Best yet!
Review: My mom bought this book for me and I can't pull myself away from it! Every page has Harry in one suspenseful situation to the next! ;)

Summary: My favorite Harry Potter book so far...
Review: I just finished this book and loved it! Ms. Rowling exceeded my expectations- I couldn't put the book down! It appropriately ties in thoughts from the past four books and foreshadows events in the next two, final books (I am making my guesses). Harry does experience some turmoil, and it feels like he is on a roller coaster (going down a lot!), but it makes him even more of a "real" character. There are feelings that he has as a 15 year old that I'm sure everyone can relate to. There is also a lot more depth added to the other characters, which makes them even more interesting. The "fighting scenes" were fabulously written. Many questions are answered in this book- it seems to lay a foundation for what has to happen in the end.
Another great book by Ms. Rowling- I think I may go crazy waiting to see what happens next...!

Summary: And The Plot Thickens.....
Review: After finishing the book, I initially had very mixed feelings about it. I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that I was very upset about who was killed off. It was my favorite character! In a series like this, it is just so easy to get attached to many of the characters. Which I think shows that it is a great series. It allows you to get so involved in the book, really takes you into a whole different world at times and just allows you to forget about everything around you. But once I thought about everything that had happened in the book (and stopped being mad at JK Rowling for who she decided to have die), I realized it really was a very good book. It introduces many new characters that could play important roles in future books. And I like the fact that it was much darker. I think it was very important to make it that way, it adds a lot more to the book. And I absolutely love Harry's new attitude. He is very angry through out the entire book, I think it really portrays how a 15-year-old who has been through so much through his life (losing parents before he even has any kind of memory of them, being mistreated by his aunt and uncle, having this evil person trying to find and kill him constantly) would really be. I also like that Ginny and Neville had bigger roles in this book. Before, those characters kind of annoyed me, especially Ginny, but I like them both a lot more now. There are also a few characters I liked but now like less, one being Cho, she was very annoying in this book. And even though it was the darkest by far, I think it was also had the most humor in it, led of course by Fred and George Weasley, who were absolutely wonderful in this book! The biggest complaints I have are of course who died and how they died (very upset still!) and also, it felt like a really slow start, a lot happened in the beginning and the first couple of chapters were great and exciting, but then it really slowed down for awhile. Overall, a very good book (although not my favorite, HP3 is my fave w/ HP4 being an extremely close second, actually I think those 2 might be tied!) Many questions that came about from previous books were answered but this book leaves you with many, many, many more questions! I can't wait for the next book, which will hopefully be just as detailed and long and excellent as the last couple. And I really hope it's not as long of a wait, 3 years of waiting is just torture!
