Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Book Reveiw Review: The Book was really good with alot of explaining about stuff Rowling said she would explain later in the previous novels. Though make sure you settle down and read the book on days when you no there will be lots of rain because 1)You won't be able to put it down and 2) Harry spends much of this book taking his boiling frustration and anger out on poor Hermione and Ron so the rain will just help that depressing mood. Some Book highlights are that Voldemort is back and Aunt Petunia gets herself into the magic world. Except for the fact Harry is mad most of the book there are actually quite a few surprisingly funny parts. Have fun reading, its a long one.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful read, can't wait til year 6! Review: I have to admit I came into the HP collection late. (Just after the 4th year came out.) I found the books to all be easy reads, but the 5th one came to be a great adventure. I didn't really care for Harry's temmper but I guess all 15 year old boys get like that. The charetcers as I expected all joined in on the fight and I was serprized to see the even mean old Snape helped out. all in all I found the book to wonderful. it took me a few days to read only because I have to do other things, but I wanted to keep reading. Just to let you know don't go to sleep just after reading, HP will be in your dreams. lol
Rating: Summary: Not great! Review: After the fourth book I expected better. This was a good book but lacked the depth of story I wanted. The reader was led down a long depressing road and there were very few bright spots on the trip. Most fans of the series will already have buzzed through the 870 pages as I have; it is a quick read (maybe 15 hours). I have noticed others commenting on how quick they read it too. Like I said, not a deep storyline, just a lot of words.
Rating: Summary: Er.... at least it had a good start... Review: First of all, we start with Harry who seems to be a year younger than I am now. I can even find some of myself in him, he has an ambition it seems to take on anyone. I was surprised to see that he started making fun of Dudley for his behavior and his funny responses to his uncle and aunt. I read other reviews that said the author has no idea what a teenage boys life is like, this is far from it, and it sure sounds perfect to me... the person who said that was a woman too, what does she know!? Anyway, like I said, it started fine, introducing the characters again, for those of you like me who forgot everything about the first books mainly. But if there was one problem about this story it was this: HARRY DIDNT DO ANYTHING... Its true. Everything he tried failed. Every ambition he had for this year in the book was eventaully lost. We cant hear about his quidditch matches, he lost Cho because he is apparently stupid when it comes to girls, and his end meeting with Voldemort, was a mistake by him, if he didn't even go, nothing bad would have happened in the first place. Then, at the end, after we listen to a... long talk with harry by dumbledore, we find Harry has no ambitions except destroy Voldemort, his destiny. Which was revealed to us by reading the first book, but they had to introduce it here like it was so unobvious. ...
Rating: Summary: intense Review: I am a huge fan of the HP phenomenon, and I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the latest installment, and I was not dissapointed. The book is fragmented and, at times seems to lack in story development and focuses more on shock value, but all of my illreputed thoughts were blown aside at the amazing intensity of the ending. The picturesque descriptions of the unravelling of the story and where the world of magic is left with. The evolution and darkness of the plot proved to be an installment that the series was needed to better the plot and growth of the characters, their readers, and imagination.
Rating: Summary: They Just Keep Getting Better Review: You do not have to be an avid "Harry Potter" reader nor a huge fan as I am to have noticed how the spine of the series keeps getting larger with every new arrival, but, you do have to be a devoted fan to have noticed how the stories keep getting better as the spine gets thicker. The 870 pages of the fifth edition are only an advantage to the reader. This way, it takes longer to read and you do not have to worry about reaching the end as soon. When I bought the book the day it came out, I dismally started reading the book not expecting it to be as good as the fourth ("The Goblet of Fire" was my favorite), but I was surely mistaken. Just taking in the first paragraph, I knew that someone would have to cut my hands off to get that book away from me before I finished it. I spent every waking moment with my eyes glued to the pages, consuming every word printed on that page. Reaching the end of the book makes you wish that you already had the sixth one waiting for you to open. Hopefully the spine will be even thicker. I will leave you with some advice, before you come near the end, have some tissues in your hand.
Rating: Summary: This book is so poor it's unbelievable Review: Okay so we waited forever...FOR THIS GARBAGE!. Harry was so THICK in this book even my 13 year old brother said it was garbage! I have a feeling that the book was written more for the movie than for the purpose of being a 'good reading material'. Harry was so rude, whiny and over-bearing it's unbelievable, and at the very end Dumbledore appeared to be a blabbering idiot allowing Harry is temper tantrums. There were a few bright spots in the book, Ron being prefect and NOT Harry. And the 'spark' that started in Book 4 with Ron and Hermione seems to dwindle just a little and what'swith 'weeping Cho'. Believe I have three brothers and they were never that THICK, LOUD, STUPID, RUDE or WHINY in the teen-age years!...I hope the next book is some redemption, and as for the book being dark... please someone had to die it would seem unfair!
Rating: Summary: Ms. Rowling's Best Work Yet Review: I very much enjoyed this book. It was quite unlike the other books because it not only included many plot twists, but also introduced a character that altered the way of life of the students at Hogwarts (I would tell more but I don't want to give anything away). A great book; In my opinion the best in the series since book three.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: Rowling has lived up to her expectation to please, the characters and greatly pronounced and vivid, along with the magical world of Hogwarts. A must-buy for Harry Potter fans and anyone else.
