Summary: Tales of those who do big things and good things everyday...
Review: None of the people in Craig Hall's book had anything handed to them. Early on they found and harnessed the passion to succeed without forgetting the community. THE RESPONSIBLE ENTREPRENEUR goes beyond the secrets of success by addressing the pitfalls, weaknesses and stereotypes of being an entreprenuer. It's full of stories about tough individuals with big hearts AND the competitive instincts and ability to "pull the trigger" when need be. Whether these men and women give back through the services their company provides or from the profits they've earned, this book shows that all of us can do big things and good things everyday.

Summary: Informative and entertfaining insights and anecdotes.
Review: The Responsible Entrepreneur provided me with a new perspective on how entrepreneurs can commit their time and efforts to improve their communities, while also having all the material indicia of their success. I had never before thought about the myths, traits, and secrets of successful entrepreneurship described in this book or how creative entrepreneurs can do so much more for society than merely donating money to charities. The chapters on Ambassador Richard Schifter's experiences, the formation of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation, and Steve Mariotti's decision to teach others how to succeed after being mugged were particularly inspiring to me and said volumes about how one person can change the world for many people.

Summary: An insightful and inspiring read
Review: This book was both informative and inspiring. The stories of people doing so much for their community were very motivating. Doraja Eberle's unselfish efforts to bring supplies into war torn Bosnia were truly remarkable. As are the other entrepreneurs profiled. It was very eye-opening. I never thought about how necessary the entrepreneurial spirit is in Government until I read about Ambassador Richard Schifter. I found the information in this book helpful, especially the section on the myths about entrepreneurs. I too used to think entrepreneurs were JR Ewing clones. It's refreshing to see that you can make it in business and still be a respectable member of the community. I would recommend this book to anyone who's thinking about starting their own business or wants to bring the entrepreneurial spirit into their current career.

Review: What an entrepreneur! Get elected to the US Senate, marry an ambitious woman and put her in the business of lobbying congress and government agencies. She gets the dough and her husband delivers. Is this legal?
