Summary: Excellent resource item
Review: (Planeta.com Journal) - This book assists those beginning an international career. This second edition combines contacts a and insights that pierce the mystery of finding work abroad. Chapters cover international careers, short-term jobs, internships, volunteering and teaching. This is an excellent resource and I only wish I had found it earlier!

Summary: A good general guide
Review: If you would like to live overseas for an extended period but can't afford to do so without working, then this book will be very valuable. It provides very useful and interesting information on many different aspects of finding a job overseas. Just reading through the book makes you want to throw in your stateside job and head abroad. As someone who has taught English abroad, my only criticism is that the information the book gives on teaching English abroad is not very detailed or up to date. So if you're thinking specifically of teaching English, you might want to get a more specialized book, such as Jeff Mohamed's 'Teaching English Overseas.'

Summary: ?Thought Provoking and On Target?
Review: Like having a conversation with a great career counselor, reading this book is a transforming experience. It is a book that inspires as well as informs, that succeeds as literature as well as a guide. This book is filled with facts, information, arresting ideas and practical guidelines. This book is sure to strike a chord with many present and prospective International job seekers. I join the chorus to say, "Another books don't get any better than this."

Summary: Found a job in a week.
Review: Thanks to this book and despite me having no teaching experience or certification, I found a job within a week. This book is concise and contains many links to websites I could not find on my own. The job I received is in Mexico and they are paying for my plane tickets and rent when I get there, along with a nice salary. I am very pleased. If you want a job then I would suggest you look here first.

Summary: Chock full of useful info
Review: Transitions Abroad magazine has seemingly always been the go-to resource for students, volunteers, and working travelers itching to get up and go. This book is a great resource for doing so in an informed and successful manner. No organization does a better job at compiling the best resources and they've tapped several experts from their stable of writers to give the low-down on specific areas.

While English teachers may require a more focused guide, the book does provide a good overview and plenty of relevant web sites to explore for more information in that area. For anyone wishing to travel and make a living at the same time, the purchase of this book is money very well spent. After all, if you land a job after using the guide, it'll pay for itself on day one.

Summary: An ideal and instructive reference
Review: Work Abroad is the complete, comprehensive, practical, and "user friendly" how-to guide for finding jobs overseas. Whether it's for an interesting volunteer position, a paid employment full or part-time, this indispensable guide is an ideal and instructive reference. There are country-by-country listings of key employers and organizations, lists of the best books and websites, a wealth of helpful first-hand reports from people on their experiences when working abroad. Work Abroad is a very highly recommended addition to any personal, school, job center, or community library jobs/careers resources and reference collection.
