Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Thoughtful and Comprehensive
Review: This book demonstrates conclusively that the World Bank has done little more than shore up colonial economic structures. However, instead of stopping there, Brown goes on to demonstrate that African institutions and progressive NGOs provide an excellent alternative to the World Bank model -- an alternative that stresses development led by the people of Africa themselves.
