Summary: Concise yet covers it all
Review: An inspiring read about getting it (global citizenship) right. I've just finished reading another, similar book of over 300 pages and I'm sure I got just as much good information from your 85 pages as the longer one. Well done Thomas.

Summary: The heart of the matter of communication
Review: I highly recommend Thomas Zweifel's book Communicate or Die as it gets to the heart of the matter regarding one key area that is missing in organizations. The truth is you will either go through life with a commitment to master communication or go through life at the effect of others mastery of communication. Thomas has mastery and is generous enough to share it with us in a way that is easy to get and simple to apply.

Summary: Communicate or Die
Review: I just love it! All the distinctions that Dr. Zweifel brings to the consciousness of the reader are enormous. When I am turning the pages I am blown away by how little we know, or rather, how unconscious we are of what we say or how we listen. I love the anecdotes and the stories of "brilliant" communicators. I believe that everyone can hugely benefit in both, personal and professional life, by reading this book.

Summary: Culture of communication
Review: In my work as a doctor and hospital manager, I use both books 'Communicate or Die' and 'Culture Clash' in my interactions with colleagues. (Being a radiologist in nuclear medicine, I have only 5 minutes per patient.) In many
hospitals, a highly hierarchical structure often prohibits a culture of constructive criticism among colleagues. But I was able to use the tools and tips from both books very well -- in particular for my work as a team-leader of mostly younger colleagues, focused on producing specific research results. For example, I learned to listen between the lines, check my own assumptions, and save weeks of otherwise wasted research -- and time is money. Both books emphasize the importance of communication for doing business. But anyone who must communicate for results will improve communication abilities when learning these lessons. The importance of listening instead of speaking and the use of active listening as a tool for getting results are clearly outlined. Both books are written by someone who learned his lessons by trial and error. Thomas D. Zweifel does not get lost in communication theories and does not use scientific terminology. He gives real-life examples for situations where communication failed. The books also provide good examples for how to reveal and solve communication problems. The lessons, labs, and the 'dos and taboos' give good input for daily exercise as long as the reader has the will to improve his or her communication abilities.

Summary: An essential work
Review: In todays business world everybody is talking about communication but hardly anyone knows what skilful communication really means. In his brillant book Thomas Zweifel makes it fun to learn more about the secrets of powerful speaking and listening. "Communicate or die" is enlightening and entertaining at the same time. As a coach for personal development I not only use this book on a daily basis but also recommend it to all my clients. An essential work!

Summary: Outstanding
Review: Outstanding reading and fed an action plan presently being undertaken by two companies and its key personel.
So many factors were brought to the surface simply from reading this remarkable book. Was hard to believe that a book got us in order and centred us on smarter thinking and relationship building. Cheap investment I say.

Summary: Read Communicate or Die!
Review: So simple it's radical! In easy but elegant prose, Dr. Zweifel maps out an effective practice to re-engage the often forgotten but most fundamental of all human tools: communication. His timely and practical advice on active listening and effective speaking can benefit everyone no matter what the endeavor. From personal relationships, dealing with a boss, or leading a multinational corporation, this book is a must for any citizen of the modern world.

Summary: Get The Help You Don't Yet Know You NEED.
Review: There are very few self-help books that I am at all interested in. Communicate or Die, as I quickly realised, is not a self help book, but a book that makes you want to help yourself through it's practicle association with today's business and negotions. This is definitely a must read for anyone that is interested in beaing a leader, and more importantly, a good leader who is foremost a good listener and communicator. I did not put this book down until I was done and I think that many who begin to read it will experience the same thrill. Enjoy.

Summary: Communicate or Die
Review: This excellent book teaches you how not to take too much for granted and that effective communication makes all the difference.
It's good to keep the book close at hand, to remind you, that what you assume might be obvious in this domain, in fact is well worth thinking about.
Thank you Thomas D.Zweifel

Summary: Clients give rave reviews
Review: We purchased 165 copies of this book as our Holiday gift for clients (family and firends get them also!)at the end of 2003. We have been meeting with most of these clients since then and many more have read and are working with the listening skills in this book. More so than most books we have purchased for them to read in hte past! It is a quick read with practical recommendations on improving skills coupled with stories of why speaking, and more importantly, great listening skills are cirtical for leaders ... leaders in business, community leaders and in leaders in familes ... actually for effective leadership in each of our own lives. It applies to everyone!
