Summary: Getting To The Heart Of The Matter
Review: I highly recommend this book because nonprofit board work is not easy, and the author did not try to make it easy simply by giving me a model or formula to follow. In fact, his model, called the engagement model, invites me to accept the challenge to color outside the lines when it comes to traditional board roles, to harmonize all our decisions with our mission and vision, and to take on a mantle of professionalism that allowed me to see immediately what was missing in my work as a board member.
