Rating: Summary: Accurate Scoring... Cd needs a little work Review: Let me start off by saying that I used Arco in conjunction with Kaplan CD prep. On 3 practice tests, Arco gave me a score range of 640-660. Kaplan tests were 530, 560, & 590. ETS official practice test was 660. Official real GMAT score... 650. ARCO was right on the money as to where I stood.. Kaplan was WAY OFF. The CD contains 6 practice tests, in my opinion about half of what you need to practice for the real thing. The layout of the screen is almost identical to the real thing. The only problem I found was that when doing long passage reading in the verbal section, you can't scroll one line at a time... you push the down arrow and it JUMPS way down. Sometimes you have to play around with it to be able to read all the words... all of which cost you valuable time. The book was very good for learning sentance correction techniques as well as math practice. All in all, the combo of the book and CD was very good, but I would recommend grabbing either the Kaplan or Princeton Review CD as well. 6 Practice tests with Arco, 4 with Kaplan , and 2 from the official ETS... that's just about right.

Rating: Summary: Not Recommended Review: The book has too much material, which mostly is useless. 592 pages of boring and exhausting suggestions that lead to nothing except somewhat improved ability to handle lengthy boring passages. Perhaps not completely bad afterall :-) The tests are too easy, esp math - I used to get the max. Makes you confident for a few minutes until Kaplan hands you your fanny with 600 written all over it. Verbal is not close to the Real GMAT. CR is screwed up - the logic does not go the right direction and several of my friends agree with me, it is not just me; SC is not focused on the style but rather on the grammar portion, which is not tested as strongly on the GMAT. And yes, the software is not something to be happy about. If you used this book and found it helpful, I will be very interested to hear about it. -Bogdan.
Rating: Summary: Good try but rushed to market unfinished. Review: This animal has been rushed to market too soon. The setup menu is straight forward with the exception that it does not tell you we were setting up. The last feature on the menu says coming soon and there is nothing there. There is a CD that comes with this book; however the quality control is very poor. The speaker stammers once in awhile and backtracks. At first they show you an example and talk about the example. Later they talk about the example and do not show you an example. Still further on, they tell you the choices that they made but do not show you what they need to choice from. Just see your were you will need to have internet access to perform any of the functions in the book. The paper part of the book for the GMAT is well written and designed. Is the CAT part that really needs to be rethought.
