Rating: Summary: An Insider's Guide to Career Coaching Review: Whether reading it as a career coach, parent, counselor, or professional who helps others with their career decisions, I found Insider's Guide To Career Coaching to be loaded with specific examples, valuable tests, and helpful client tools. Readers will find practical techniques and up-to-date access to market information. This book is poised for action. Yes, the examples are geared towards career issues, but isn't every one faced periodically with trying to help someone in a career crisis? This book shows the reader how to ask powerful questions, clarify needs and promote one's ability to make a "quantum shift". How do you handle it if your client becomes emotional or triggers an emotion in you? Insider's Guide is one of the first published books to offer practical use of Chris Argyris's Ladder of Inference, useful NLP techniques, and the International Coach Federation (ICF) guidelines together. As the labor market continues to evolve, career coaching will be a vital skill set. I'm using the Insider's Guide as my handbook for helping others find their Authentic Vocation and to make the necessary adjustments to the 21st century labor market. When appropriate, I'm using it as a textbook for clients, too.
