Summary: Wow, what a business builder!
Review: Clients Forever is a hands on plan to increase your productivity and customer satisfaction. I was shocked to get results before I finished the book! Read this book if you want to satisfy your number one client - yourself. I have continued to re-read sections of this book to keep my focus on behaviors that will net my clients and myself the most amazing results.

I also enjoyed the author's humor and enlightened perspective on the driving factors of customer satisfaciton.

Summary: My Life, My Work, My Relationships
Review: Clients Forever not only gave me an entirely new way to interact with my clients, it also gave me a new way to interact with myself. The exercises helped me to take a close look at how & why I behave the way I do and how that behavior affects the way I do business. I feel rewarded by the personal development that I've made as a result of reading the book and that was totally unexpected. I look at my clients in a whole different light now. My life, my work and my relationships have all improved and I look forward to implementing what I've learned.
The book was pyschologically intriguing and fun to read at the same time. The authors gave it a down to earth approach with a true humanistic appeal. I highly recommend it.
I'm looking forward to seeing Doug talk in person and to find out more about his personal coaching programs.

Summary: A Simple Challenge
Review: I purchased Clients Forever along with a book targeted at financial advisors. I'm sending the other book back. Why? It's irrelevant, as is my entire shelf of "How to Lure Customers into Doing What You Want Them to Do" books. The latter are now in public hands, donated to the local library in return for a meager tax deduction...

What? Which library? Where can I get my hands on one of those? Do you have any more you want to get rid of?

Nyet! Don't bother. At least, if you're a forward-thinking person who likes a challenge, don't bother. If you're not, well, by all means...

Because Doug Carter's book will likely change your mind about many things...how you sell, who your clients are, what you spend your energy on, how to enjoy your days, what's important in life...

And it does so without being one of those whacko woo-woo New Age blathery dissertations on life and loveliness.

On the contrary, it offers a very simple challenge: to arrive at excellence in your clients' experience by focusing on who you are rather than on what you do.

And it's not lecture-y at all...In fact, Clients Forever deserves 10 stars for managing to be an engaging experience focused on the reader. That's a feat for any writer, but in this case the technique demonstrates the central tenet of the book, namely: Who are you that your clients' experience of you is all about them?

Above, I used the phrase "simple challenge" deliberately. The message of Clients Forever is not at all complicated to "get": it's very straightforward, if you're willing. But this book is not for the faint of heart. It takes courage to make happen what Doug Carter suggests...Odds are, though, it'll be well worth it...And, in the process, you may find, as I have, that you are alternately invigorated, scared, titillated, amused, and thrilled...

And, heck, you might be able to lighten up your bookcases and get a head-start on next year's taxes...

Summary: Be Who You Need to Be
Review: If you have been frustrated by the sales process and can't figure out why that's so, then this book will enlighten you to possibility that there is a way you can be who you are, and have the business that you want. After reading Clients Forever I had mixed emotions. On one hand I felt relieved that the true possibility of a new way of being was evident. On the other hand I was hurt because for over 15 years I had been taught to behave in such a way that was the direct opposite of who I was.

Clients Forever will teach you the same important lessons. What's important becomes crystal clear, and you become immediately motivated to become who you need to be. Enjoy your new life and business.

Summary: A "must read" -- more than once!
Review: If you just "read" the book, you'll miss the power. You must also DO the exercises as they come up, and allow yourself to become the type of person that Doug describes. So if you're brave enough to truly "change" you'll no doubt get the results Doug describes.

I've done the work, and begun to see the results, and can tell you it's well worth the effort. I bought a case of these books and mailed them to 20 of my friends. Several have called me to say thanks... genuinely.

My genuine thanks for Doug for sharing his wisdom with us in this concise, easy to read and fun format. It's like you're there with him in a workshop, which I've had the privilege of doing also.

Summary: Worth the time invested!
Review: Like what the authour mentioned, I have personally gone through all 6 out of the 7 'generations' of selling techniques. I am currently selling using needs based (5th g) and questions based (6th g) techniques and have always felt there are something important missing. I didn't know why until I started to search for the answer and found it with Hyrum W. Smiths books (what matters most and the 10 natural laws of successful time and life management).

Then I stumbled onto 'clients forever' and discovered in a revelation that it is exactly the missing link. I tried it on some leads and it works! This book would be able to make my life easier and my income higher.

However, I would suggest that those who want to use the technique combine it with Hyrum's Franklin Planning system because they matched exactly.

Well worth the time invested to learn the knowledge!

Summary: Warning: THIS BOOK COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
Review: This book is not about sales training. Forget everything you have been taught about sales, closing funnels, and how to acquire clients. The message and the exercises in "Clients Forever" will transform you, your business and how you attract the type of clients that you want to work with. Permanent change is the natural outcome of the exercises and insights into who you are and how you show up in the world, when they are applied to yourself and to the relationships with your clients. Most importantly, your clients will have the opportunity to work with someone who is truly client centered and principled.

I was very impressed by the section on intuition, in chapter 11. Coming from a background in mathematics, I am too familiar with how logic and reasoning can destroy flashes and moments of insight. Doug Carter gives tremendous credibility to intuitive awareness. He teaches us that our own intuition is the most powerful tool that we own for evaluating how our clients feel in their relationships with us. This is very powerful stuff. I sincerely hope that someday he will dedicate an entire book to this topic and relate it to how we are "being" with our clients, ourselves, and everyone we know.

Summary: What a great book!
Review: What a great book! Specific, step-by-step instructions that have REALLY worked for me. Learn how to create an extraordinarly successful business. Work only with clients who feel like friends, stay with you forever, and tell everyone they know about your services. Work less hours - - but earn more (a lot more). This book is unlike all other "selling" books I've read. It is the best book I've read, and has given me tremendous insight.
