Rating: Summary: Not as good as Leadership Secrets Review: Another good motivational book from the Rogue, but I have seen much of the same ideas in a lot of his other books. I would still recommend it to anyone intrested in looking for a good motivational book.
Rating: Summary: Dick gives helpful tipes on how to run your life Review: Dick gives you tips for buissness and in real life in this audio. He tells you storys of these tips in affect. Through buissness and war stories. His extreamly well writen book is better on the audio. It is also to hear his voice because most of the Rouge warrior fans have never ever heard his voice. You will profit from listning to this audio tape and if you apply his rules to your life, your life will also improve.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: Great book. I like Dickie's straight forward, everything goes approach. Very practical and useful advice you can put to use right away no matter what your career is.
Rating: Summary: Straight talk from a straight shooter Review: I have read several business success books but none of the others even came close to this one. Marcinko cuts through all the politics and political correctness and delivers an excellent set of principles applicable to any industry. His war stories are more than just entertaining, they really drive home the points that he is making about the importance of planning, training, etc. This is must reading for everyone who is a warrior at heart regardless of their field of endeavor.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, to the point business success book. Review: I've read them all...leadership and business books that is. They all seem to rehash the same ideas and concepts in the same way. Not Marcinko. This is the no B.S. approach to success. If you want to be inspired, and get practical ideas from someone who has acheived success against tremendous odds, this book is for you. If you are faint of heart, and can't take some straight talk, then you might want to read some scholarly piece by a Harvard MBA instead.
Rating: Summary: Don't Wait for Opportunity to Knock--Kick the Door Down! Review: In his first business book, Marcinko showed you how to dig into yourself and find the qualities that make a leader. Having devleoped those qualities, Marcinko now shows you how to go out and engage your opponents in the business world and win! Through a life time of hard won lessons and illustrative stories from business, Marcinko explains what the principle is and then shows you how it can be applied. Whether you have real snipers shooting at you from a distant tree line, or the sleazier kind who try to sabotage your corporate success, Marcinko shows you how to meet them and beat them. You don't do it by sitting at your desk, you do it by treating each day as a battle, in which YOU dictate the rules of engagement. Because the cowards who snipe at you in the office are lacking the one trait you will already have thanks to these books: The character and guts to lay everything on the line to make yourself successful. This book and Marcinko's earlier management tome should make a nice boxed gift set for any manager or aspiring manager.

Rating: Summary: This book is very helpful as well as entertaining. Review: The book I just finished reading is entitled Secrets to success, by Richard Marcinko, USN (RET). The individual who is the author of this book is a thirty-year veteran of the United States Navy's special operations forces commonly known as the S.E.A.L. Teams. Captain Marcinko is the founding officer of the elite counterterrorist outfit known as SEAL team six. Now that Captain Marcinko has retired from the Navy, he owns and acts as the chief executive officer in a physical and electronic security firm. Captain Marcinko is also an accomplished motivational speaker in the area of employee motivation and corporate character. The above mentioned book is an extremely well written and very informative about matters relating to leadership and how to "make things go". This book also contained excerpts from his career as a Naval Officer and leader about his experiences that back up his advice. There is even a chapter on what people tend to look for in both a civilian leader and a military leader. In closing, I would definitely recommend this book for those interested in success in just about any walk of life other than pacifism. This book is well written and perhaps most importantly of all, correct. Lots and lots of stars go to this book. Adam G. Coley Dutch Fork High School, Columbia South carolina
Rating: Summary: Don't Make Excuses, be a Leader! Review: This book is entertaining and well written. The stories used to illustrate the points made are usually an adventure in themselves. Richard Marcinko practices what he preaches and this book will tell you how to do the same. This is an easy to read guide to being successful and the best book of its' kind I have ever read. This gives the reader the no excuses, no BS way to succeed. Buy this book!
Rating: Summary: Seals approach to success. Review: When I first put this tape in I thought to myself what the heck is this guy going on about. But I kept on going. It will grow on you. Richard's navy seal strategy to success is definitely one of the original motivational tapes out there. With a warriors attitude and what the author describes as "Testical Fortitude" you know your in for a ride. The author takes real navy missions and turns them into business strategies. With a philosophy of breaking rules only hurts the person who made the rules Richard just puts a foot in the face of whoever stands in the way. Dont be a follower. Set the standard not live up to it. Its a very inspiring look at a different approach to success. Exciting and motivating.
