Summary: Practical, quick management tips in an accessible format.
Review: Although I was initially put off by the sub-title of this book, I am glad I looked further and made the purchase. This was 4 years and many management situations ago! This book is a mainstay in my management arsenal that I frequently recommend.

It is written in a very accessible style -- no high brow management language -- with strategies that reinforce a manager's integrity. The tactics are easy to implement. The results are a strong management style, that respects and supports staff while providing results for senior management. This book helped me in a particularly difficult situation where I "inherited" an underperforming employee from my boss. Although the situation ended in a termination action, I feel I was able to treat this person with respect and dignity.

Since that time, I have found this book to be a great resource for ongoing managment crisis'. Highly recommended, even if you aren't "too nice for your own good!"
