Summary: bunch of tips
Review: Composite of ideas, systems and methods used by floor traders trading spreads. Primarily short term but includes longer-term seasonal trades. Like book "How young millionaires trade commodities."

Summary: Mr. Weintraub suffers from three things...
Review: First, he is not a writer he is trader. Second, his editor let him down on grammatical and chapter structure. Third, he's had his book marketed to a tough audience, experienced traders.

As the author of several futures investing book I know how hard it is to develop full ideas on actions that are second nature to you.

Mr. Weintraub has done a great job of putting various tips and tricks into one book. I enjoyed the insight he brought from the other side of the table. More glimpses into the minds of floor traders will dispel more of their stereotypical "run your stops" image.

Good book. I look forward to seeing what changes they will make in the second edition.

Summary: Lots of print but empty words
Review: I can't believe any publisher would allow this hodgepodge of gibberish to pass the scrutiny of a professional editor. I program trading systems for a living and attempt to find ideas in books i read. I have a thirst for knowledge and I consider my time to be valuable and not to wasted on worthless banter and self promotion. I violated both in this instance. I have learned a good lesson. I am embarrassed for fear others who research my ideas to learn I actually conducted a seminar in Chicago and had the stupidity to invite this author to speak. it was empty words in his speech just like this book. I returned and got my money back. mark b.

Summary: MAY NOT BE OF MUCH USE TO YOU
Review: I haven't found this book to be really helpful with my trading, but there are a few little tidbits that might be useful. There is a section on spread trading that sounds useful, but I have not tried them in practice to prove if they are really worth what they seem to be.

Summary: Surprise!
Review: I remembered reading a recent review of the author's work that was less than flattering, and for some reason decided to give this title a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. The style is unusual, somewhat "stream of conciousness", and in the end each paragraph gives the reader something to think about. I learned from this book and found much to consider. I think it would be especially valuable to the commodities trader who has some experience under his or her belt. Definitely a worthwhile read.

Summary: Good but better out there!
Review: Neill's book is good but I feel there are other books worth reading first. "Tricks of the floor trader" reminds me of Jake bernstein talking about how great these seasonal patterns are.Teh book does give a good job defining some ideas that you might e able to apply in your own trading, but many are all known widely. This book does not reveal any secrets to trading. In this book.the author makes fun of trading courses and simultaneously leads you on to think his book will help you trade better. No book can make you trade better, it's just not that easy. If you really want a book that gives you a genuine feeling of being on the trading floor YOU MUST BUY "PIT BULL" by Marty "Buzzy" Schwartz. "Pitbull" will give you the fealing of being right there on the floor and make you feel as if it were you making the same decisions. I t will make you laugh histarically and cry! Buy it, Read it, and Reap!
