This book is WAY over-marketed and OUT DATED. It was probably OK ten years ago, when Dan Baldyga was still an adjuster, but he has retired, and computer changes in the insurance industry have passed him by.

DO NOT BUY this book until you first shop at www.Nolo.com for their personal injury book. I am sorry I bought Baldyga's book; it was not really detailed: he has a lot of stories and such, but he is not an attorney so his stuff is pretty general, and I learned Baldyga quit adjusting claims BEFORE the widespread use of computers in adjusting, so Dan Baldyga's book is outdated.

The best is Nolo. Just last weekend someone at church gave me a copy of the Nolo book. I wish I had known how much better it is than Baldyga's book. I posted on the Nolo forum for a question and answer, and then called them to thank them for the book and the forum.

I have learned that Dan Baldyga is in his mid-seventies and has been out of touch with the personal injury business for over a decade. Baldyga's material is stale; a Nolo poster says Baldyga has never even settled a claim using Colossus, for example, since he had retired before it became in popular use.

For example, Dan Baldyga says he has this "big secret" formula for valuing claims. He calls it B.A.S.E., but I learned IT IS BASELESS! Baldyga's stuff has no merit in today's insurance adjusting environment from what I read by attorneys and adjusters at www.Nolo.com .

Summary: Amazing results from your formula
Review: u?~ ôed to let you guys know that just by using your calculator to add up our total cost and expenses in my recent car accident we were able to purchase 2 brand new mid size cars and a home built from the ground up. The amount the insurance company wanted to settle for was far less that what we calculated using your format. So I pressed the issue and I was able to handle everything without the 3rd party (attorney) whose 33% we were able to put in a retirement account. Your formula really does work.

Summary: Dissapointed. Incomplete.
Review: After reading the reviews here, I was expecting much more from this book. First of all, the base Formula made up by Baldyga to give you a value on your claim is a joke. It neither accurate nor realistic. The book provides you very little information on important topics such as subrogation or negotiating attorneys fees. It does not even mention Colossus, the software used by insurance companies to evaluate insurance personal injury claims. Information on how to create a demand letter is slim, and although there are some good advices in this book, it will not help you to settle your personal injury auto accident claim yourself. The Nolo Book is much better in my personal opinion. To settle my car accident personal injury claim, I have used a website SettlementCentral.Com (http://www.settlementcentral.com) which helped me a lot. They offer an easy guide to do-it-yourself personal injury claim for automobile accidents, dog bite, and slip and fall personal injury insurance claims. It was easy to follow and they have a very good section on how to write your demand letter. I also bought and read most of the personal injury claims books on Amazon, and I was able to settle my claim without the help of an attorney.

Review: I found the book incomplete for my purpose. I had bought several books about this. There was not as much information on property damage or what to do when you have an accident. I had more valuable information from the Car Accident Secrets book. I was able to settle my claim easily by following the steps right out of that book. It was also less expensive !! The website for Caraccidentsecrets.com is (http://www.caraccidentsecrets.com) It had a lot more valuable information which helped me a lot more. I used the book on that site to help me settle my claim without an lawyer. It also teaches you more do's and don'ts and also has real examples of claim settlements. I would recommend that one instead plus its a lot cheaper.

Review: I got a very fine settlement on my own using the advice in this book; I got $6,000.00 more than I was shooting for after reading this book and applying the simple concepts Baldyga shows you. I also have the Nolo books but I find them to be very misleading and confusing. Most insurance companies are "onto" Nolo and they're ready for you when you hit them with the Nolo concepts. Nolo people actually go to the other legal self-help sites and plug Nolo books, much like they have done here. Thi book was far easier to understand and implement than Nolo, in my opinion.

Review: I ordered this book to help me with my accident and also ordered the book at caraccidentsecrets.com I got both books quickly and read through both throughly. I must say the book at caraccidentsecrets.com was far superior than this one. Also that book was less expensive than this one. The other book CAR ACCIDENT SECRETS saved me $4,029.00 on my car insurance claim.

I'm sorry I cannot recommend this book when there are others available that are more worth the money.

Review: I purchased the book online with trepidation, but now I have settled my claim and I look at it as the best investment I ever made. The insights it provided into the claims process, and the Base Formula, were outstanding. I fully attribute my success to the instructions in the book as to how to document everything and how to present my case to the adjuster. I thank the author so much for publishing this book.

I've never written a review before but I'm glad I came back to buy a book for my nephew who was recently involved in an automobile accident. I noticed as I read the reviews posted here that both Nolo and Car Accident Secrets people have taken the low road by writing dunning reviews of this wonderful book. It's a shame that they find it necessary to promote their books in any manner necessary, to try and compete with their competition. I just clicked on other reviews these same people wrote and was not surprised to see that they also attacked all the other books written on the same subject, in an effort to promote their own books.

I decided to write this review both as a thank-you to the author whose book helped me so much to settle my own claim, and also to let other people know that this book is rightfully in the top selling position because it does what it claims to do.
