Summary: One of the MOST helpful books I've read!
Review: "Winning Without Intimidation"
was one of the most helpful and
encouraging books I've ever read.

I felt as though I was right there
with Bob as he interacted with
people in such a wonderfully
non-intimidating way and I
really learned a great deal
from this little book!!!

I would give anything to be a
fly on Bob's lapel as he interacts
with the people he meets on a
daily basis!!!

When I returned from a recent
vacation I had a phone conference
with one of my business partners who
informed me of a small problem
she had with one of the leads
companies we've been using
and recommending to our team
members.

So I took what I learned from
Bob's book and wrote a letter
to the owner and I got a response
back within about an hour that
he would replace the leads AND
will make sure that glitch is
taken care of asap so it doesn't
happen to others!

So I've already had a chance
to put into practice what I
learned from Bob's book!

Summary: Outstanding Book!
Review: Bob's book helped me improve my people skills. In this book Bob outlines in clear terms what it takes to be a person that wins without intimidation. The book really lives up to it's name.

To be successful, you will need to have other people help you along the way, Many times you will need to motivate people to do things for you. Bob shows you how to get things done without intimating others, rather by empowering them to help you. He is a master at human relationships and he shares with you personal stories of how he won people over without intimidating them, but rather out to seeing their perspective and showing them what they stand to gain by helping him.

I highly recommend you read this book and apply its principles into your everyday life ASAP!

Summary: Winning Without Intimidation
Review: Dear Bob,
Thank you for your incredible book, "Winning Without Intimidation". I found your book to be very helpful in using the information in all areas of my life. Writing thank you notes is something that I started including with my work nearly 15 years ago. My husband never felt blue ink was professional, but now he accepts the idea since he read it in your book. Thanks for clearing this up for me! I'm now in the process of reading your book a second time. What I found you teach is a whole new way of speaking and/or talking with someone. Some of the things you teach I've done, but much mor to learn. In reading your book I learned what a genius you are in knowing how to be tactful and patient in every situation with people when trying to communicate. For example, the incredible way you teach someone to handle a telemarketing call received at your house! Totally ingenious, plus handled in a very loving and kind way. When I was raising my two children I read "Children the Challenge", decided to learn more by attending a workshop. It gave me a whole new insight on how to speak with my children. Your book gives new directions on how to speak with people you see each day. Thanks again for your insight, plus for taking the time in helping people learn more about kindness in working and communicating with others.

Have a great day,

Karen

Summary: great book
Review: Having spent years in business, decades in my profession, and eons dealing with the IRS and people in trouble with them, it's easy to get jaded and impatient. Sometimes, it all just gets so irritating and frustrating.

Yet. Generally, I find that, following Bob's advice, if I can compliment someone I'd rather throttle, they're much more inclined to treat me well.

Sure, I still lose my temper sometimes. But, then I can always turn to Bob's newsletter, Winning Without Intimidation for inspiration.

This is a must-read book for anyone who can't understand why they can't get ahead, why people don't react well to them, or anyone on the verge of apoplexy.

Also, by decent folks who'd still like to believe that business can be conducted with honor and grace.

Bob reminds us that the business environment doesn't need to be cut-throat. It can be delightfully personal and friendly.

Thanks, Bob!

Summary: Winning Without Intimidation; A must have guide for life
Review: I have read the book by Bob Burg and found it to be the most helpful tool for positive living. This is a must for dealing with people in today's world. It is easily read and explains why the techniques are necessary and gives clear examples of how they can be used in your everyday life. I attended a conference, where Bob Burg did an excellent presentation, at The Grand Plaza Hotel, Grand Rapids MI. He personifies his book.

Summary: I needed this book!
Review: I've had a copy of this amazing book for several years. Its first home was my nightstand. I ALWAYS have a stack of partially read books there, and WWI stayed on top until it was finished, which is a rare thing for me.

I now keep this book on my desk at work, and when I'm at wit's end in how to talk with a person who is being difficult, I can open it to almost ANY page for quick inspiration; Bob's words have made me stop and rethink many times, before I said or did something I'd regret.

I've also given away countless copies to strangers. I take a copy with me to waiting rooms and reread chapters, because it helps me to wait (I'm not a very patient person sometimes.) I usually leave without it, as I almost always encounter someone who has had it up to their eyebrows with rude, impatient, and mean-tempered people. There are now quite a few medical technicians and nurses who have this book, and use Bob's simple techniques to make it much easier to work with rude and "impatient" patients. At other times I've just left my copy in the waiting room when I left. This book Isn't realy about sales...it can help anybody. It's easy to read, almost conversational. And you don't even have to read it all at once; almost every page has something you can use in your interaction with other people.

If you buy just one inspirational, motivational book, make it this one. I believe you'll be happier for it.

Summary: Easy and practical guide to the lost art of pos. persuasion.
Review: If you're tired of hassling with uncooperative people in your life, READ THIS BOOK! Easy to read and practical, this book explains the lost art of "positive persuasion" and how it can make daily communication with service people, business associates, friends, enemies and even LOVED ONES more effective and more fun. Using amusing anecdotes you can relate to, the author shows how we can avoid the stress of negative no-win confrontations and get, as he puts it "what you want, when you want it, and from whom you want it." He believes we can create a win/win situation every time we face a brick wall of resistance or just a disagreeable human, if we learn and practice his simple tips. Instead of manipulation, the rules of pos. persuasion consider the egos and effects on all parties, giving the keys to a satisfying outcome for everybody. No argueing, no threats, no sweat! Burg combines good manners and good sense with a few neat tricks and tips to! remind us of our often-lost humanity, and the easy things we can do in our daily life to make it less stressful, more productive, and much more fun.

Summary: Bob Burg changed my whole attitude!
Review: In my life, there have been perhaps a dozen books that have really changed the way I think and act. Bob Burg's Winning Without Intimidation is one of them. As a New York City native who now lives in a quiet Yankee farm community, I had to adjust my personal style so as not to scare others off. Bob has shown me not only how to step back and not frighten my neighbors, but how to change the emotional content of a discussion, remove the charged lightning rods, and get to the substance in a way that works better for everyone involved.

This whole philosophy impressed me so much that I give Bob and the WWI philosophy half a chapter in my own new book, Principled Profit: Marketing That Puts People First (available June 2003). I mention a few other visionary thnkers, but Bob is the one who has made a true positive change in my own life.

I thank him for it, and I heartily recommend his book.

Summary: Changing the world one response at a time !
Review: This was the first of Mr. Burg's books I read and was SO impressed with the practical techniques he taught me, that I soon collected his other books. There is even a wonderful way to speak to law enforcement when stopped and fortunately for me the policeman let me go. WOW! It is all about treating people with respect and clearly showing this respect FIRST, then asking for what you need in a clear, concise way. Bob moves the reader to understand that making the world a better place is within THEIR reach by chosing to respond in kindness instead of reacting and getting mad. I applaud this author and look forward to his future insights. His words shine thru to a world needing to apply them DAILY. This is a keeper! Thanks, Bob, for your refreshing commitment to make the world a better place. I'm right behind you.

Summary: Making Friends
Review: Why might anyone want to win without intimidation?
What's the purpose in anyone wanting to live a peaceful co-operative life among our fellow humans? Answer: Peace and better productivity! But, I will grant you - some don't care!<...I say Bob Burg's "Winning Without Intimidation" should be absolutely top rated. Anyone who rates it otherwise is "short on desire for wisdom." Until I 'loose my marbles', I will continue to call it a five star example of the "Wisdom for Success"!
