Rating: Summary: Force of Nature: Environment as a Movement in Soviet Russia Review: A very needed contribution about a very important but little known part of modern Russia. From the druzhina movement to defeat of the "Project of the Century" that helped topple soviet dominance, the Russian love of the environment has served as a source of strength and political expression. A good antidote to the lingering cold war condescion still kicking that there is nothing of value in Russian society. Dense reading, however, but good. An important historical source.
