Summary: Aspiring traders can't afford to be without this book!
Review: An excellent book on trading and technical analysis that cuts through all the hype surrounding this subject. Dr. Elder writes with clarity, humor and wit, puncturing common myths about trading and reviewing the mistakes many beginning (and even some experienced) traders make.

The best parts of the book are the sections on individual psychology and money management. Beginning traders who follow Dr. Elder's recommendations on the use of stops and maximum trade size should survive their learning curve with credit and ego intact.

Save yourself a lot of money and read this book BEFORE you make your mistakes!

Summary: SO SO
Review: THis is another compilation of technical analysis. Some pop psychology, the only part which can lead to profitable trades is the triple screen method. Use it with a pinch of salt. (DO not use Stochastic in a trending market (screen 2)) A good practical bok might be Jack Sch. Tech ana explaine

Summary: Exellent introduction to trading
Review: Anyone considering trading should begin with this book. Read snd re-read it several times. Use a hi-liter pen in the psychology section. This book does a good job in covering the most important element of trading, that is, the trader himself. Many search for the perfect system for trading and there is none. I have read reviews that say Dr. Elder did not cover certain topics like money management in depth enough, but hey, I am sure the book would have to be 3000 pages or 10 volumes if he were to cover his 3 principles of trading the way he would like to. I found nothing phony or ego driven in the book, which is unusual.

Summary: A outstanding book
Review: this book puts it in to simple words what it takes to make it trading.Only someone who has been there and made it could write about it like that.

Summary: Good book.
Review: This is a good book. I found his analysis of price action particularly interesting. The book also does a good job of explaining the mental toughness and independence that is required to be a long-term winner. I have a few critisisms of the book. First, I think he overdoes it with technical entry indicators. My belief is that trying to make the perfect entry is overrated and futile. When you take profits/losses can be just as important (or more important) than when you get in. Second, the section on money management is a little thin. He does a good job explaining its importance, and the importance of not planning to risk more than 2% per trade, but I think it would have improved the book if he went over various position sizing models in the fashion he did with the entry indicators. Lastly, trading is very competitive, but it is not violence or war. There is a big difference in principle between volintary trade (financial trading) and Force (true warfare or violence).

In spite of these criticisms, I found the book very good and very worthwhile. I have read and reread it many times. I have also gone though the study guide many times.

Summary: This is a MUST-READ if you're a beginner to trading.
Review: If you are just starting to trade, you must read this book in order to learn how to avoid the SINGLE BIGGEST MISTAKE that beginners make. You will also learn that when you step into the trading arena, EVERYONE ELSE IS AGAINST YOU. The title says it all. Psychology - why your decisions make you nervous and how to know if you're trading for a living for the wrong reasons. Trading Tactics - an excellent overview of many common indicators and how to trade with them. Money Management - why is MM the most important thing for newbies: so you can stay alive long enough to learn what you are doing! I consider myself extremely lucky to have read this book first as my introduction to trading. It has had the largest and most positive impact on my trading. READING TIP: read this book with a highlighter. When you see a sentence that begins "Professionals do X", highlight it. Read this book cover to cover and live by it.

Summary: Wonderful, easy to read and understand, very informative
Review: This is a great book. It really gives one a lot of information on trading psychology and trading techniques. Thank you Dr. Elder!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must for people who want to trade.
Review: Even though I did not completely understand the chart section, I receive enough infromation to be able to tell which way the stock or commidity was going. This in it self was worth the price of the book. Plus with more study I can master the rest of the infromation.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent "Bible" on Trading Psychology
Review: Elder's book is a great text on trading psychology and what makes the markets move, etc. This is not an instruction book on day trading but more of a book on the psychological motivation behind what makes the markets move.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: BUY THIS BOOK!
Review: Should be required reading for any new trader
