Rating: Summary: Nothing special Review: If ure a player looking for a book to help u beat the odds, this book will not help u at all. All it will tell u is that parlays and teasers are sucker bets, and that public mostly bets the favorites, come on, if u didnt know that before ure not really a player. All it basicly tells u is how to run ur business if u decide to become a bookie, and how to get started. For me it was a waste of money and time really, but if ure new to gambling it might help u.
Rating: Summary: Great insight into sports betting Review: It will give you a new perspective and sense of what you're up against when you wager on sports. It will also tell you exactly how to become a bookie if you're so inclined. Fun reading too!
Rating: Summary: very glad i got it Review: theres a lot of stuff about the book that is great and i could list it all on here and everything but the bottom line is that if you gamble on sports, then get this book. it will teach you a whole bunch of stuff you didnt know about how to bet to win at least it did for me. end of story.
Rating: Summary: I have no idea how this book is legal! Review: This book delivers everything that is promised and it's a great read. It really DOES teach you how to start your own book and how to run it professionally. By doing that, it also helps a gambler understand how lines work and why a bookie always ends up winning in the end. The first chapter on "Gambling Basics" (which is much more than "basic") is perhaps the best explanation of sports lines on every sport that I have ever read; this chapter alone is worth the price of the book.
Rating: Summary: Great info. Review: This book is really interesting, but I didn't really get much out of it on the handicapping side. If your thinking of starting a book or are just facinated by the lifestyle this is a great book, if your looking for handicapping advice get a tout sheet.
Rating: Summary: A glimpse into the secret world of bookies Review: This book makes for fascinating reading, and as far as I know is the only book of its kind, thoroughly explaining how a sports book is set up and run. It's written in an interesting, story-telling style that will hold your attention. You don't have to be a sports junkie to read this book; if you've ever bet on a game or wondered how bookies get rich, check it out.

Rating: Summary: Bankroll? Review: This book was a joy to read. Books on this subject are hard to find...but this one is worth the wait. The only advice that isn't included is how much bank one would need to go into business. Informative, good read, easy to understand and very well organized.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining - But Some Questions Left Unanswered Review: This book was very entertaining and had some interesting information about bookmaking, however, some questions were left unanswered. The author never talks about how much capital a bookie needs to have on hand for the enevitable weekend heavy action comes in on a favorite and the favorite wins, thus creating a hugh deficit for the bookie to overcome. Is there any way to "split" the action with other bookies? Even casinos run into this problem when high rollers playing baccart get "lucky". Also, I would have liked to have heard more about the use of the internet as opposed to phone lines as a means for bringing in the bets. And, is JJ in Costa Rica by choice or is he "on the lam"? Sounds to me like the cops were on his trail. I would like to see the author follow this book up with a story about the Offshore bookmaking business and it's impact on local bookies and the Nevada sport books. All in all a good book and a fun read.
Rating: Summary: More than just gambling advice Review: this was a lot of good strategies about winning money on sports betting but it also was full of some damn funny stories. i thought it was a good book. it was worth the money.
