Summary: Very Perceptive
Review: Schwartz claims to list the nine essential principles for growing a business on the web. Yet he provides one insight the overshadows them all. Namely, that "information-rich" sites have the possibility to succeed while "information-poor" sites are basically a waste of time.

This idea alone explains why Amazon.com or the Virtual Vineyard are such roaring successes while www.TIDE.com is a joke on David Letterman. With this idea firmly in mind, his nine principles are reduced to useful details.

Summary: Good book...Definitely useful!
Review: I definitely learned a lot about the business aspects of the Web by reading this book. A terrific companion to this book is Stanek's Increase Your Web Traffic.

Use Schwartz's Webonomics to give you the business foundation you need to succeed. Use Stanek's Increase Your Web Traffic to learn how to bring the world to your Web site

Summary: So that's why I bookmark certain sites...
Review: Have you ever asked why you bookmark certain sites? This book answers this question and many more. I recommend this book to anyone interested in the web and business, especially to any college-level economics students like myself. The book tied together many loose ends from my undergraduate studies.

Some readers may deem concepts in the book as "duh, everyone knows that." To these readers I ask, if such concepts are so easy to comprehend, why are there so many sites on the web to which you never return? Check out the examples in the book and you'll soon figure out why certain web sites will last...

Summary: Intuitive, Informative, Insightful, Invaluable
Review: Enjoyed the narrative style of the author. Uses very appropriate web site comparisons to make points. Everytime I visit a Web site, I will be automatically evaluating it against the < nine principles >!

Summary: The Web Bible
Review: The most important book about Web economic theory! It's a relief to know that some people really "get it"!

Unlike many technology/internet-related books which become obsolete very quickly, Webonomics has principles which will stand the test of time.

Mr. Schwartz, thank you for writing the book that desperately needed to be written

Summary: DO NOT READ THIS BOOK - PLEASE!!!
Review: Please do not read this book!!

Webonomics is by far the most insightful book I have found on internet marketing, and I don't want anyone else to know about the information it taught me!! How am I going to prosper from its lessons if everyone else knows them too?!

As Evan Schwartz explains so precisely, internet marketing is a totally different type of marketing than any we have encountered before. Webonomics reflects upon our traditional "dismal" view of economics and how the information superhighway is forcing an economic shift that the smart ones will take advantage of. On top of that - he tells you how to do it!

Please, stay away from this one...

Summary: 10 obvious observations for the web
Review: perhaps I am overly down on the book since we do commerce on the web. the simple fact is that many of the books observations are things that a rational, thinking person would get. Like the value of good customer relationships and brands. Also, many of the examples that he cites (like the IBM cybermall) are tanking. Finally, this guy seems to think that "points" are some magical elixer. We looked at them and quickly realized that they don't work and are a pain to administer. Worth reading but use your brain.

Summary: This books pretty good
Review: This is like a history of the Web. The book seems to lean toward corporate businesses. But its easy reading because the auther throws interesting facts at the reader. But what is really great about this book is that you learn what the average web surfer is up to. I give it two thumbs up

Summary: an excellent book for anyone starting to do business in Web
Review: This is a non-fiction book I have completed from cover to cover in the recent years. The nine principles are the golden rules for anyone starting to do business in Web.

I believe in the third wave of economy where the economy is moving from agriculture to manufacturing to service. This book explains how an information rich product or service can benefit from the Web. I was more delighted to read this book as it coincided with many of my expectations in Web marketing.

The book gives a lot of examples to quote how the nine principles work in real life. I could have rated even higher if the book had been a bit longer giving more explanations for the nine principles.

Summary: Well Worth The Price of Admission
Review: A very interesting perspective to current issues surrounding commerce on the Web. The discussion of adding value in exchange for information has already helped with several new clients. Even several new sites to visit! I found it very timely. The author introduced several new concepts that must be considered by all those doing business on the Web.
