Rating: Summary: Not an objective book Review: This book is not objective in any sense of the word. Its obvious intent is to encourage people to sign up for the online version of amway, known as quixtar. Coy gives no serious analysis of the downsides of this business, including the fact that the vast majority of people who sign up lose money, and the fact that most of the highest income earners actually make the bulk of their income selling motivational tapes and rally tickets to their "downlines". In short, this book, like the business it is pushing, should not be taken seriously.
Rating: Summary: Pro-Amway Unsubstantiated Hype Review: Judging from the time relationship of the release of this book compared to the actual opening of Quixtar, it is blatently obvious that Mr. Barefoot had no practical experience with Quixtar. For the first two-weeks of September, the site was virtually unusable.I suspect that Mr. Barefoot was employed by Amway to write this book under the pretense of being a third party endorsement. Very few facts in this book hold-up under scrutiny!
Rating: Summary: Right place at the right time,Barefoot is 1st on the scene Review: Coy Barefoot captures the history of the industrial age, the chronical of the computer age and the birth of the e-commerce age. He is probably the first journalist to see, understand and document the evolution of this type of marketing via the internet. Quixtar is changing the way business is done between the consumer and the manufacturer and changing it in a way that will produce millionaires as the by-product. Mr. Barefoot does the "Quixtar revolution" a tremendous service because his book provides the necessary information and insight to help the reader understand that the individual consumer is at the right place at the right time to enjoy the best business opportunity of the next millenium.
Rating: Summary: To the point Review: It's plain and simple, e-commerce is the way and with a mix a network marketing the DeVos and Van Hendel Family really it the target for success. With Quixtar they made the leap first in e-commerce with a 40 years experience in network marketing and distribution and business in more then 85 country's. It's the first time in decade that a new business give the opportunity to the people, the man and woman who want to become Independent Business Owner to do so and owning their own e-commerce business. And the funny part is that it will cost you less than the price of a good pair of shoes. It works, you just have do the work, it takes an effort to succeed like in any thing, but most of the critics out there don't even have the will and back bone to stand up for their word, family and dreams because their afraid to fail so the don't even try. (It' like that one year gym membership they train for two month and quit, or that class they quit in college, like that martial art course they quit after the first month, you see the picture) To succeed you have to be persistent, never quit, take the decision to succeed, because SUCCESS IS A DECISION. Any way after reading this book I understand that this type of business is for the real Man and Woman who's ready to stand for their dreams, what they believe in and not just for working at a Just Over Broke J.O.B. exchanging hours for $ to finally hope that this month they will be able to pay the rent. Your boss know WHY and you know HOW, that's why is buying a new BMW to is wife while your doing over time. It's time for all of you to take action because now you know WHY. Read this book it will open your mind to new possibility's, there is a way to freedom and this is it. What a Man can do another Man can do. The only FREEDOM of choice in life exist when you have FINANCIAL FREEDOM. Christian Masson
Rating: Summary: Looking to join the cult of Amway? Review: This book, while by description seems a promising introduction to the E-commerce opportunity, turns out in the end to be just another peice of puffed-up marketing material. The goal here is to get one to fork over the money for an Amway (Amway/Quixtar = same thing, new name in an attempt to re-invent themselves after decades of bad publicity) distributorship, and then keep forking it over to stay "in the game/build your own business/etc., etc.".
Rating: Summary: Excellent Reading for all aspiring entrepeneaurs Review: This is a classic book, representing what America's all about. A land where there are no bounds on creative thinking. I truly believe what we are seeing is the start of a revolution in the Ecommerce world. Websites with low cost products and a price sensitive community continue to lose money. I do not believe they will last too long. From what I have read, Quixtar will actually make money the first year. That's a first in this industry. Good book, good reading.
Rating: Summary: Very Well Done! Highly Recommend to E-Thinkers ! Review: Don't be mislead by people who just "Don't Get" what is going on with E-Commerce. Quixtar is not just about "selling" Amway Products. There are 50 stores on Quixtar right now and that is just the beginning. IBM, Office Max, Hardware.com and many more. More stores will be added on a regular basis. Jay Van Andle and Rich DeVos are billionaire entrepeneurs who own several companies. They own Artistry Cosmetics, Nutrilite Vitamins, Hotels, Fleet of Jets, The Orlando Magics and more. They also own Quixtar.com. Of course since they own Quixtar they wanted to include the products from the other companies they own. That is just a tiny percentage of what is offered on Quixtar. There are 15,000 to 20,000 pages on this site and 50 stores and 200 or so Catalog stores. Everything you need in life is there somewhere or will be soon. It's a great book and a great opportunity. Microsoft Corporation, IBM Corporation, Fry Multimedia, the Tadah Group and others put it together. They are the Big Boys in the industry and I think we should respect their opinion and their expertise. Unlike other E-commerce sites, this one will make money for Quixtar and for those who choose to refer others to it. The compensation plan is fantastic! Anyone who seizes this opportunity and runs with it can become very wealthy. Those that get involved and don't do anything of course won't. It's just like everything else in life. There is no free lunch. YOu actually have to Do SOMTHING, make an effort and be consistent in referring the site to others and it will pay off. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in getting in on the E-Commerce Wave and wants to ride with it to the top. My husband and I are Quixtar IBO's and found the book to be very informative.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book on an excellent business Review: Granted this book is obviously biased towards Quixtar, but no more than Bill Gates' books about his life being biased towards Microsoft. Quixtar, like Microsoft, is a successful company with some things to share that would benefit others. It is still a great book on this new opportunity and required reading for anyone researching Quixtar thoroughly. Correction to the comments previously, ZDNet rated Quixtar's INTRO page the fourth worst out of all e-commerce sites, not the fourth worst e-commerce site altogether. This is simply because the intro page does not adequately explain the purpose of the site, and rightfully so. That is the IBOs' job to explain its purpose so there is no need to compare apples to oranges. By the way, for the "fourth worst ecommerce site on the Internet", it has made more money than most of them...go figure.
Rating: Summary: A must read for those who want to access their success! Review: From behind the scene dreams to concrete reality, Mr. Barefoot informs the Internet generation of one of the brightest stars in their future, much in the same way Pilzer's book "Unlimited Wealth" predicted the Dow breaking 10,000 ten years ago! Quixtar is the economics of people helping people.
Rating: Summary: A historic book for this historic time! Review: Coy Barefoot has made a seemingly complex subject easy to read and hard to put down. Barely through the 2nd chapter, I applaude his historic research and relativity to how we are a dynamic, ever changing humanity. This book will be a best seller and soar in the same sky as Quixtar.com :) -J. Allen Wood, CEO Rekindled Aspirations Inc. Elkhart, IN
